Winter Break
Hi lovely friends (especially new people who have recently followed us!), I want to offer you a scheduling update.
Our mod team is currently three awesome humans strong, and collectively we’ve been offering mod-hosted chat hours slots multiple times per week for...wow, SIX YEARS! I’m so proud of us.
You may have noticed that these past few weeks have been quieter, and that right now the calendar does not have the usual weekly chat hours listed. That’s because our mod team is taking a winter breather.
2020 and 2021 have been long years (but also short? what is time?). The platforms and technology we use for running Agender Chat have changed beneath our feet. We’re contemplating our niche in the community ecosystem, and we’re taking a little time off from hosting chat to do that reflection.
Please feel free to keep using Agender Chat’s discord server throughout the break. The only channel with disappearing history is #main-chat. You can use #general and the others to connect with folks. You can still @ Moderator (without the space) to call us in to assist you anywhere on the server. The mods will still be online at least from time to time in general. If you’re a brand new member and you’re having trouble getting first-time access due to the break, please feel free to send a tumblr message to this agenderchat tumblr account, and we’ll make sure you get in.
For everyone celebrating holidays this time of year, please know that we’re thinking of you and value your observances, even if dedicated holiday posts might not be in the cards for these next few weeks.
Further announcements to come in late January. Until then, be well! Keep loving your amazing selves.

TDOR 2021
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.
This is a sad, tough day. It can bring up a lot of different hard feelings: anger, frustration, fear, grief, and many more. But for me, it’s also a day that highlights community and love. Through honoring those we’ve lost, and by lifting up their names, we continue insisting that the future needs to be better for all trans people. We won’t be silent. Instead, we keep on doing the work - whether that looks like quietly surviving ourselves or openly contributing to activism efforts.
Take care of your tender hearts today, my friends. Know that whatever you’re feeling is understandable and valid, and remember that you are loved.
