Imagine how happy Arthur and Molly Weasley were when word reached them that Voldemort had been destroyed. Their children were now safe and could grow up in a world without any threats. Molly would no longer have to keep one eye on the family clock when Arthur was out on Order missions. Arthur no longer needed to worry about Bill or where he was, because he was away for his first year at Hogwarts; his first year away from home. They no longer needed to dread the dark world that their newborn daughter would’ve had to grow up in.
Imagine the terrible looks on Arthur and Molly Weasley’s faces when young Remus Lupin showed up on their doorstep; they could tell that he had been crying. Molly cried in horror when she learned what was lost in order for the darkness to be destroyed. Arthur sat back in his chair, remembering that one time that James Potter saved his life on an Order mission. Arthur and Molly looked at each other, suddenly realizing that James and Lily Potter’s son of one year old was now left orphaned, with no one to look after him.
Imagine the hope on Molly Weasley’s face, ten years later, when her sons stumble across a lonely boy at King’s Cross Station, looking for a way into platform 9 3/4. Imagine the smile that spread across Arthur Weasley’s face when a young boy with jet-black hair sat at his kitchen table, eating breakfast with his family.
Arthur and Molly Weasley would always remember the day when James and Lily Potter died, but they would never forget raising their eighth child in honor of the couples’ memory.

Okay, so we all know that after Sprout leaves, Neville becomes the new Herbology professor. And (of course) that means that Neville becomes the new Head of Gryffindor House because, why not?
And we can all assume that Flitwick is still alive and kicking and flaunting his adorable little self through the Hogwarts as the Head of Ravenclaw. And Slughorn is probably still around as the Potions professor and Head of Slytherin.
But, after Sprout leaves, McGonagall is left without a Head of Hufflepuff. And none of the current professors are Hufflepuff alumni. Until...
On September 1st, after the new first-years have been sorted, a blonde-haired witch bursts through the doors to the Great Hall and struts her way over to the staff table. All of the students are staring and wondering who fhis woman is until McGonagall, smiling at her, stands and says: “Welcome back, Miss Abbott.”
Hannah Abbott-Longbottom looks over at her husband (who is flabbergasted as to why his wife is there) and winks before turning to the students.
“Hello, witches and wizards of Hogwarts. I am Professor Abbott-Longbottom, and I am your new Muggle Studies professor and Head of Hufflepuff house. All I can say, is... I’m glad to be back.” She walked around the table and took her seat next to Professor Flitwick.
Neville turned to the Headmaster. “How did you convince her?”
“Well, Mr. Longbottom, it didn’t really take much. All I had to do was promise her that Hufflpuff will finally win the House Cup for once.”
And that’s the story of how Hogwarts reinstated the Muggle Studies class for the first time after the Battle of Hogwarts.
