The bell-tipped jester’s hat cast a shadow over his forehead, and the lower half of his face was obscured by a scarf drawn up and knotted loosely around his neck. The ends of it trailed down to flutter near his crossed ankles. The hoop completed another quarter-rotation. The figure stood up suddenly, his body elongating with catlike grace.
