12 Hours - Webgott Au

David Webster didn’t know a time when those twelve hours didn’t exist. One would think that those measly little hours out of every year wouldn’t mean anything and for twenty two years they didn’t. Not in his parents’ safe house with guards at every turn keeping them safe.

But this year was different. He’d cut contact with his parents five months ago and fled to a tiny apartment above his work in a small bookstore. Away from the high tech security and the safety of his parents’ fortune.

Joseph Liebgott was no stranger to blood. Those twelve hours out of an entire year were almost no different than the rest. But this time is different. Instead of some asshole pissing him off or someone stepping out of line, it cut much deeper than that.

The system failed Joe only eight months ago when his little brother’s head was smashed open by a drunk driver all over the highway. His little brother’s killer didn’t see a day of punishment and got to go home to see his perfect little family without a spot on his record, all because of a technicality.

His heart is set on an eye for an eye and a night out of violence for him and his buddies, but all of that is disrupted by a blue eyed stranger stranded in the street.
