"You think you got taste?
Oh baby, how do you know?
I mean for God's sake
Everything's under control
The choices you’ve been given
Are all preferences controlled by the capital."
Binged all 7 episode in the first day and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best pieces of audio fiction I've ever heard. Go listen to Deviser now if you haven't, I cannot stress enough how phenomenal it is! Harlan's out here proving to the world once again how, even without any help from major companies, production crews, advertisers, crowdfunding, etc., he is still a jack-of-all-trades that hits it out of the park every time! I have no doubt when I say both current fans of Malevolent and horror enthusiasts in general are going to appreciate the creativity and sincerity of this mini series.
Deviser is a much darker, more gruesome and terrifying existential thrill-ride from start to finish, not only addressing heavy topics such as the battle of morality and our own shortcomings within the human race, but also the the fear of what possible near futuristic outcomes might look like through the viewpoint of AI interference and manipulation. Though it is true the subject material might be very heavy for some (you should definitely heed the warning before each episode), the writing is absolutely brilliant regardless. The fact that Harlan has yet again taken it upon himself to play every role: writer, producer, sound designer, etc., still leaves me shock every time I think about it. This podcast deserves so much praise and recognition for the endless hours of love and dedication that was poured into its creation. It will hook you from the pilot and leave your mind questioning long after the final credits have sounded. Please do yourself a favor and go give it a listen!

Harlan Guthrie’s whole new sci-fi horror series Deviser goes live in three hours!
It’s a huge new step in audio drama, not only in horror that John Carpenter would be proud of and incredible sound design, but also trying to show that you can drop an entire short-form series for binging and have it do well.
As such, all of these first premiere downloads count! Let’s blow his expectations out of the water.
(Do check the content warnings; this show is a frighteningly good listen but also heavy on gore, à la Alien or The Thing).
This lovely conversation with Harlan Guthrie, one of my favorite horror writers (and creator of hit podcasts Malevolent and Deviser) is finally free to the public!
New Skull Sessions coming out each week while we’re on break!
The sad thing about great horror podcasts is that it's really hard to just sit down and enjoy an episode with a friend unless you're driving somewhere or something.
It takes a very specific kind of friendship to sit in a room together silently listening to some guy suffering.
you’d think that in a symbiotic relationship between an amnesiac eldritch entity and a hardy 1930s private investigator it’d be obvious which one of the two regularly prevents the other from committing accidental atrocities, general recklessness and getting arrested. you’d THINK.
