"Zita" Tiaras.

Aka my beloved pride and joy of which I will never get over and absolutely had to share. Aigrette/Brooch tiaras are were an absolute staple of Royal and Court dress in the 1800s and few royals still rock them; I'm really excited to be posting my own take on the fad.

Thank you to @melonsloth @batsfromwesteros and @glitterberrysims whose meshes/textures I merged to make these, and elfd*r for the feathers.

There are two versions of this tiara: one with feathers and one without.

Queen Alexandra Hair

I decided a clear out of of my work-in-progress folder was needed (it's larger than my cc folder!) and found this!

This is the hairstyle that Queen Alexandra (wife of Edward VII) wore from the 1880s onward.

It's also accidently very similar to the usual hairstyle of Aunt Ada from the Gilded Age! I've just finished watching the series and have already started working on some of the hairstyles so you can look forward for those in the near future!

Advent Calendar 2023, Day X and XVII: Tenues d'hiver pour enfants

SURPRISE!

I told you it would be worth the wait!

I know there are few dates where I've been behind. But I thank you for your patience. Working 13 hours a day six days a week on top of being super sick, and then staying up into the late hours to make sure posts went out has been quite a lot for me. But things are coming!

I'm finally able to release the gifts that were due the last two Sundays (Dec 10 and 17th)! There were last minute drama's for each of them, but they are now fit and ready to go!

A huge thank you once again to @historicalfictionsims for her help in converting the dress from an adult frame to a child frame. Many may remember the dress in my previous advent calendar, as it was worn on one of my deco sims, but the dress was too broken and I didn't have any knowledge of how to fix it at the time. So with her help I was able to finally make this dress functional! And of course a huge thank you to @buzzardly28 as well for helping with all the clipping issues! We did it! <3

targaryen sims portraits pt. I

King Aegon I Targaryen was tall, broad-shouldered and powerful in appearance, with purple eyes and short-cut silver-gold hair. He was very charismatic and commanding. During his Conquest he typically wore a shirt of black scales into battle and wielded Blackfyre, a bastard sword made of Valyrian steel. His crown was a simple circlet of Valyrian steel, set with big square-cut rubies.

Queen Rhaenys Targaryen was a beautiful woman with silver-gold hair, which she kept long and wore loose, purple eyes, and a slender body. Rhaenys was kindhearted, graceful, playful, curious, impulsive, and given to flights of fancy, with a mischievous aspect to her personality.

Queen Visenya Targaryen possessed the classical Valyrian features: long, silver-gold hair, which she often braided or bound up in rings, and purple eyes. Hers was a harsher, more austere beauty than her sister, Rhaenys. A voluptuous, sensual, and passionate woman, Visenya was also stern, serious, and unforgiving. Visenya was both a dragonrider and a warrior, comfortable in both silk and in ringmail.

King Maegor I Targaryen was a tall, broad, and fearsomely strong man. He was bull-like, with heavy shoulders, a thick neck, and huge arms. Though he was on the heavy side, he was not fat, but more massive and square. He kept his hair short and his beard trimmed to his jawline. He had angry-looking, suspicious eyes, and a scowling mouth. Maegor was quarrelsome, quick to take offense, slow to forgive, and fearsome in his wroth.

King Aenys I Targaryen was as tall as his father, yet slender and weedy at the same time. His fingers were long and slim. He had lilac eyes, paler than his father’s had been, and curly hair which fell to his shoulders in ringlets. He also wore a silky beard and mustache. Aenys dressed in the finest silks, samites, and velvets. Aenys was a kindhearted, courteous, charming, and soft-spoken man, who wished to be loved by everyone and always sought to please.

Queen Alyssa Velaryon had the silvery hair and purple eyes of the Valyrians. Alyssa had charm, wit, and kindness. According to Septon Barth, above all else Alyssa desired to be loved, admired, and praised.

1850: Night at the Opera (in collaboration with The Royal Thornolia Chronicles)

After my months-long Celtic spree, the time has come to briefly return to my old era of interest...

May I present to you a small 1850s set, made together with amazing Ali, the author of @theroyalthornoliachronicles! We're both so excited to finally share it with you all 💗 Make sure to check Ali's post for her half of the collaboration - practically necessary if you want your mid-Victorian gentlemen to be properly dressed for the evening!

While Ali dealt with the men, I focused - surprise surprise - on the ladies. And made two evening dresses, both inspired by the same fashion plate from ca. 1850:

If you follow Ali's story, you probably remember that a certain mademoiselle Eleanor Valery wore the dress on the right to an opera event. The dress on the left also made a short appearance, as it (or rather: its beta version) was worn by my simself Cecile, who was kindly invited to participate in the evening as well (no, that's not my real name. I just asked my husband to give me a random female French name, and that was the first thing he came up with ;)). And so both dresses are named after those characters: Eleanor and Cecile.

Both come in 29 swatches and I swear all of those colour combos come straight from mid-Victorian fashion plates - even if Ali claimed some of them remind her of 1980s Barbies ;)

You might notice that they vary slightly in style, and that's because I put an insane amount of work into texturing Cecile, as somehow I couldn't get it to look any satisfactory with my usual methods. I love the result, but the whole process was so convoluted that I'm not even sure if I could still retrace all the steps, let alone redo Eleanor in the same style. So we're left with this small discrepancy between both dresses. Hope you don't mind!

1850: Night at the Opera (A Collaboration with Vintage Simstress)

Hello, hello!

I know it's been a while (between life and being a perfectionist) since I've last posted anything, but this time I hope you enjoy what is on offer!

If you follow my story, you may have noticed the grand affair that was the Gala d'Opera! Scenes which took months of work to put together, of which included dresses and suits not yet seen before! With the help of my lovely friend, @vintagesimstress, she helped to create a few lovely dresses for the event, one especially for Eleanor, and the other for another sneaky little sim as part of a homage to my lovely friend for all her help making that scene a reality!

For my own contribution, I decided to try my hand at making some evening suits for my Mid-Victorian men. There are two versions, one with a closed jacket and one slightly opened. Please enjoy! <3
