each episode of fruits basket is just each character taking turns passionately delivering a 5-minute monologue accompanied by violins. someone is always outraged / yelling in a situation that doesn't warrant that reaction. suspiciously meaningless canon events elicit a google search to fact check that they are indeed not filler. cryptic words are always spoken, whether there is any significance to them is still unclear. it is law that at least half the cast has to talk about their feelings and get emotional per episode. the tears from each character are used as hydropower to generate electricity for the whole town. close up shots of faces followed by a fade out at the end of every scene, no exceptions. the audience collectively pretends that tohru has a personality to stave off insanity for one more day.
