I think this article gives a decent english language overview over the current AfD situation in Germany, though not the EU politics ramifications. I certainly hope that it fractures the right wing EU coalition though, but I don’t see it as very likely tbh

Did superhero comics exist in the Worm universe (this particular iteration of it at least), prior to Parahumans being a thing? Like did the concept of a superhero exist in the popular imagination before the 80s?

The fun part about listening to the Magnus Archives in 2023 is that I legitimately managed to avoid spoilers for a lot of the podcast with a few exceptions. The bad part is I legitimately don't know how it ends or what some of the twists are but I have theories. But I can't post about those without everyone who actually listened to the finished show see my insane ramblings and see how wrong I am.

Fun fact: you know what’s actually radioactive? The exhaust from coal-fired power plants. Not super high radioactivity of course, but measurably so, and unlike nuclear power it actually gets out as part of the normal operation of the plant

I don’t know much about Pokemon and this is largely language biased, but a Raccoon is called a Waschbär in German, so a washing bear, and as such has a fairly strong water association. And an opossum doesn’t really have that, I see it more as a general forest animal, walking through the grass eating ticks. So I would switch opossum and raccoon types.

Okay re that last post (opossums, skunks, and raccoons being starter pokemon) it got me thinking. Like in my mind, typing wise it's definitely

Opossum -> water

Skunk -> fire

Raccoon -> grass

I'm curious what everyone else thinks though
