Music stars honoured at first 'Brit Awards of the North'

Louis Tomlinson, The Courteeners and Aitch were among the winners at the inaugural Northern Music Awards, which organisers hope will become the "Brits of the North".

The event, held in Manchester on Tuesday, was set up to celebrate talent from across the north of England.

Former One Direction star Tomlinson, hailing from Doncaster, was named artist of the year - beating fellow South Yorkshire singer Self Esteem and Newcastle's Sam Fender.

Louis Tomlinson has received yet another award for his glowing trophy cupboard.

The hitmaker, 32, has made a name for himself since releasing his debut solo album Walls, in 2020. In the years following the record hitting Number 4 on the Official UK Charts and being certified Silver, Tomlinson has gone on to tour the globe and bagged two Top Ten singles.

But it appears his solo career is receiving industry recognition with the Doncaster, South Yorks, star bagging Artist of the Year, having gone up against fellow South Yorkshire-born singer, Self Esteem and Newcastle's Sam Fender. The star was awarded the gong at the Northern Music Awards, appearing via videolink to celebrate his award.

Sitting in a hotel room, the singer said: "Hi, I'm Louis Tomlinson and I'm really sorry I can't be with you tonight at the Nordoff and Robbins Northern Music Awards, I'm currently on tour. But I just want to say, it means the world to win Artist of the Year. Thank you, thank you and thanks for doing such an incredible thing for charity."

Although Tomlinson burst onto the scene singing pop songs, in recent years, he has branched out into punk rock, indie pop, soft rock and EDM, proving to be one of the most versatile artists in the industry. The musician is currently preparing for the final shows of his Faith In The Future World Tour which he kicked off on May 26, 2023, with his final show being on September 8, 2024, as part of Superbloom Festival.

Hi lovely 💕 Does anyone have a list of the hotspots in America? Every time I get to the map it finds my location but then when I zoom out there aren’t any hotspots anywhere in the whole world. It is just a blank map sad face. I’m assuming just a glitch, but figured people might have started making a list? Thanks I’m advance for any help!!

Hello, sweet anon! You know, I thought to make a list of all hotspots until I realized there were 170 of them so I gave up lol. I think lthq is most likely dealing with some technical problems in the website due to too much traffic or something and that is why they've turned it off but I believe it'll soon get back. As for the list, I'm not sure if anyone has worked on IT already but if anyone has any information, please add to the post and i'll reblog it!

That's the big question we're supposed to find out through that puzzle. If you want MY opinion, possibly a live album of sorts, judging by the pictures they use of Louis on stage, having the pre-save in music streaming platforms and the puzzle being a square (like the cover of an album). But who knows? We'll have to wait to find out!
