Jason was having a normal night in Crime Alley when it happened.
A lone glowing meta came floating through, almost stumbling in the air if that was possible. It only took a few seconds of swaying and giggling for Hood to put the pieces together. "Kid. Are you drunk?"
The kid turned his Lazarus green eyes towards him and the Pit Water inside him stirred. Ok, maybe not a meta. "Nooo.." the kid slurred, making Red Hood cross his arms in a show of disbelief
"I'm telling the truth! My mom shot me and then everything became blurry and-" the kid let out a series of giggles before suddenly launching himself at Red Hood and strait up hugging the vigilante, muttering something about Hood being so cool and his favorite hero.
Meanwhile Jason thinks Phantom had just recently been murdered and is freaking out.
Bonus points if the Fenton parents shoot at Red and Danny alike a few minutes later

Light Bulb
Part 4 of Nana's Son
Tsuna drops on the bed, moving just enough not to fall on top of Xanxus. "Damn, I'm exhausted."
"Serves you right," Xanxus's fingers close on his nape, harsh enough to leave it stinging. "Should have thought of that before becoming Decimo."
Making an agreeable noise on the back of his throat, Tsuna squirms until he can lay his head on Xanxus's shoulder. "I should have run off to a deserted island or something."
Xanxus curls his arm around him, pulling him that little bit closer. "You'd have died in a week, you suck at hunting."
"Maybe," Tsuna feels the tension leaving his body. He presses his palm on Xanxus's chest, fingers drumming with the beat of the Wrath's heart. "Are we still having dinner tomorrow?"
"Yeah." Xanxus pinches his hip in silent reprimand for the continued conversation. "You know Saturday nights are dinner nights."
Tsuna absently rubs the pain away but nods.
He's almost asleep, comfortable and lazy with it when it dawns on him. Tsuna bolts upright, eyes taking in their shared bedroom with a new perspective. "Oh my god, Squalo is right."
"Took you long enough," Xanxus snorts, pulling Tsuna back down to his chest. "I thought I was going to have to say it."
And Xanxus is allergic to feelings, Tsuna thinks wryly. "But wait," he scrambles a little, fighting to meet the Wrath's eyes. "What about Squalo? You said…" Tsuna blinks. "Oh."
"Yeah," Xanxus still hasn't so much as opened his eyes. "I figured if I made a big deal out of it, it'll force you to think. But you're useless in the mornings so I had to remind you."
"Oh." Tsuna drops a kiss on Xanxus's cheek. "You're so sweet. When is our anniversary? I'll get you something nice."
"We're not having this conversation," Xanxus bares his teeth but even when he covers his face, Tsuna can see the red tinting the edges of his ears. "Shut up and let us sleep."
"But this is cute," Tsuna grabs onto Xanxus's arm, trying to pull it off his face. "How long have you been waiting for me to notice? I'm sorry, Xan."
"Shut up," Xanxus rolls them over, crushing Tsuna under his bulk. "Fucking sleep already."
"Fine," Tsuna lets himself go limp, hugging Xanxus's waist with his arms. "I still want to know, though. Tell me tomorrow?"
"No."
"Please?" Tsuna insists, rubbing Xanxus's back soothingly. "I'm really curious."
"We're not having this conversation," Xanxus hisses back but there's enough of a waver in his voice that Tsuna already knows he's won. Cute.

Dense
Part 3 of Nana's Son
Tsuna smiles when Xanxus comes in, setting his pen aside. "Lunch time already?"
"Yeah." Xanxus sits on the edge of the desk, setting the take out boxes beside him.
Frowning, Tsuna fishes his paperwork from under the plastic bags. "You know I hate it when you do that."
"I know," Xanxus smirks. He hisses when Tsuna pinches his leg. "Squalo has lost his fucking mind."
"Again?" Tsuna leans forward, cushioning his forehead on the assassin's thigh. "My wrist hurts."
"Fine. He lost what was left of his mind." Xanxus grabs Tsuna's right wrist, pressing his fingers on the muscle. "Didn't I tell you to have this checked?"
"You did," Tsuna sighs, deciding that it's just best for him to change the subject. "So what did he do now?"
"Nice try," Xanxus snorts. "I'm getting Lussuria to do it tonight."
"I've got meetings, Xan." Tsuna straightens up, reaching for the take out bags in a last ditch attempt to change the subject.
"Now you don't." Xanxus softens the shut down with a gentle squeeze of Tsuna's nape. "I got us sushi bowls and that lemon pie you like."
"Thanks, you're the best." Tsuna smiles at him. "So what did Squalo do, you haven't told me yet."
"Apparently he thought we were dating." Xanxus snorts.
Tsuna blinks. "Okay? It's probably the rumor mill."
Xanxus snorts. "Unbelievable." Pointedly, he taps the food containers. "Start eating."
"Alright, alright."

Entertainment Purposes
Part 2 of Nana's Son
So calling the boss dense to his face wasn't Squalo's best idea. Doesn't make it any less true, however. In front of him, Lussuria clicks his tongue in that annoying mothering way he has. "Where does it hurt, Squ-darling?"
Fuck those stupid nicknames too, Squalo thinks sourly. He gestures at himself in wordless reply and gingerly sits down on the cot. "So you know how the boss and Sawada are dating?"
Lussuria arches a brow, looking at him with a decent amount of judgment. Fair enough. "Squ, they've been together for over a year already."
"I know that," Squalo snaps, wincing when the Sun digs his fingers in already bruised flesh. "You know that. Apparently, they don't know that."
"That can't be right," Lussuria shakes his head but Squalo can see the beginnings of exasperation in his face. "They sleep together."
Squalo's palm shoots up to cover his eyes. "I know. How is this happening to us?"
"Are you sure you didn't misunderstand?" Lussuria wonders, fingers light like feathers as his flames sink under Squalo's skin.
"Yes!" Squalo moves, ready to start pacing but one look at the medic's face has him stilling. "I confronted him about putting me in charge of his date night reservations and shit," he waves away Lussuria's disapproving look. "It's not my job, I'm not his babysitter! Anyway, I confronted him about it but he was just confused. Kept insisting that Sawada and he are just working together. That things are this way only because it makes it more convenient."
"And our little Tsuna? How did he react?"
"You know how Sawada is before midday, I'm not sure he even knows what was happening or what the boss fed him." Which is great for Sawada because the boss is the worst cook Squalo has ever met. But before midday Sawada will eat those concoctions without even a blink. By now, there are poisons out there that will have no effect on the brat. "What are we going to do?"
"Do?" Lussuria arches a brow. "It's their relationship, that's for them to figure out."
"You just want the entertainment value," Squalo sighs but he's not opposed to it. "Fine. Now that I've confronted him with it, I'll give the boss maybe two months to figure it out. One for freaking out and then another to muster the courage to confront Sawada. You?"
"Squ," Lussuria shakes his head. "Six months to a year for the boss to figure it out. And once he does he's going to fish out our little Tsuna from wherever he is, there's going to be a lot of property damage but they'll figure it out."
"Six months to a year is too long a gap," Squalo grunts, already fishing out his wallet. "You know better."
Lussuria snorts. "Fine, darling, a year." He writes down his bet on the little slip of paper Squalo offers him and carefully tucks it back inside the swordsman's wallet. "Should I ask the others or will you?"
"I'll do it," Squalo decides because those two deserve the embarrassment.

Breakfast Brain
Part 1 of Nana's Son
Xanxus eyes Tsunayoshi fruitless attempts to pass him the coffee beans, yawning into his fist. He snorts at the other's uncoordinated movement, snatching them from the younger Sky's hand. Tsunayoshi only grunts back, eyes still unfocused and empty. They're running out of tomatoes. "You've got to get the groceries today."
Sawada's reply is a mumble Xanxus interprets as agreement. He'll have Gokudera remind the little shit, Tsunayoshi's brain is mush until midday. Right on cue, Squalo enters the kitchen and gives Xanxus an absent nod. "Lussuria wanted to let you know he'll be back early."
"Fine." Xanxus accepts the mug Tsunayoshi is silently offering and pushes him towards the table. "Have Gokudera remind the trash to get the groceries."
Squalo hisses in offense. "We're not your babysitters! Remind him yourself!"
The screech that results from Xanxus throwing his mug at him is satisfying but not as satisfying as the taste of perfectly made espresso of Tsunayoshi's replacement mug. "It's good." He transfers the fried eggs on the bowls, sprinkling some tomatoes on the side.
From where he's sitting, cradling his own mug, Tsunayoshi musters a sleepy smile. Xanxus rolls his eyes and slams the bowl in front of him. "Eat. How you're this useless in the morning I'll never know."
Tsunayoshi yawns, hiding his face on Xanxus's chest and clinging to his thigh for a moment. The assassin clicks his tongue but his fingers tangle in brown hair. "You need a haircut again." This guy's hair is a mess.
"Uh huh." Tsunayoshi blinks, straightening after Xanxus taps his shoulder. "Food."
"Yeah, yeah." Xanxus pulls away, sitting on his side of the table. "Eat it." Without turning to look at his second, he raises his voice. "Have Gokudera schedule an appointment at the barber shop, too. He better get his hair dealt with before the gala."
"Fuck off, you shitty boss!" Squalo seethes. "Keep us out of your fucking relationship."
"It's your fucking job," Xanxus reminds him, watching as the yolk seeps satisfyingly into the rice. "You're the fucking go to between the Varia and the Vongola, remember? You wanted the fucking job, now suffer in silence."
"My job," Squalo snarls, finally fishing the last piece of mug from his hair, "is to facilitate the relationship between Vongola and the Varia not to pencil in your date nights and manage your fucking household shit!"
Xanxus blinks. Maybe Tsunayoshi's stupidity is contagious. Still, he extends his hand and nods when Sawada wordlessly passes him his empty mug. The assassin turns in the same movement he uses to throw this mug into Squalo's forehead. "What the fuck?"
Squalo doesn't scream, he just bares his teeth right back. That's how Xanxus knows he's serious. "Sunday's dinner? Not my job to get the reservations. Do it yourself, I have a job and I'm too busy with it to be managing your date nights on top of it!"
That clarifies nothing at all. Xanxus arches his brow with maybe more condescension than he should. "It is your fucking job. We discuss any issues with the business during those dinners."
Tsunayoshi makes an agreeing hum around his spoon.
"The hair appointment?" Squalo snaps back. "Grocery runs?"
"How do you expect us to work without food?" Xanxus answers because Squalo has never had an issue with this before. "And Tsunayoshi would live in sweatpants if I let him and it would make us all look like idiots. So we have to make sure he cuts his hair and looks like a human being. This is work."
In his seat, Tsunayoshi's brow furrows but he shrugs without saying a thing. Probably deciding it's too much effort.
"You…" Squalo is still frowning but when he straightens, it's less anger and more horrified realization. "Boss," he gestures at them, "what do you think this is?"
"This is us having breakfast," Xanxus replies unsure of whether he's confused or annoyed at the stupid question. "You're the one who kept insisting we should work together. So we are."
"Holy shit," Squalo eyes them. "Oh my god. You don't even realize. How dense can you be?"

(Xanxus's mess)
Part 7 of The Advantages of Thirsting
His lying piece of shit of a father wakes up after the ceremony, which suits Xanxus just fine. He drags Sawada along, barging into the hospital room with a satisfying kick that breaks the door in two. The assassin eyes it for a moment before shooting it because fuck the old man.
In his bed, Timoteo sighs. "Xanxus," he straightens, waving away the nurse's attempt to help. "Was that necessary?" It takes him a moment to notice Sawada but when he does, he smiles. "Tsunayoshi."
Xanxus snorts, "old man." He holsters his gun and displays his hand in that movement he's seen others use to presume their jewelry. "I'm married now."
Sawada nods, flushed with victory. Xanxus will give him that. He's not sure how Sawada came up with the money for that rock and it's inconvenient as fuck. But it's big and expensive and Xanxus loves shoving it at people's faces.
Timoteo blinks, eyeing the ridiculous diamond in Xanxus's finger. "I see." But the assassin can tell that he doesn't. "I thought you were in the middle of the ring battles?"
"Bah," Xanxus waves that away. "Fuck that, we got married instead. It makes more sense."
"It does?" Timoteo watches the two of them, unsettled in a way that Xanxus glories in provoking. "I'm glad for you."
"Good because you're paying for the honeymoon." Xanxus bares his fangs, daring Timoteo to contradict him.
The old man doesn't put up a fight. "Of course." Timoteo keeps looking between them. Xanxus finds himself both annoyed and pleased when the more the old man looks, the more he seems to approve. Finally, Don Vongola smiles. "Traditionally, it's the family of the bride who pays for the ceremony, after all."
Xanxus twitches. "We already had the ceremony."
"That's too bad," but the old man still looks cheerful. "I'll content myself with spoiling you in your honeymoon."
"Fine!" Xanxus growls, grabbing Sawada and storming out of the room. "Stupid old man."
"You're so cute." Sawada finally speaks, tucking himself against the assassin.
"For fuck's sake," Xanxus sighs. "You're insane." But he doesn't push Sawada away. "We're going somewhere stupidly warm for our honeymoon and I'm destroying all the shit. All of it."
"Ok." Sawada hums, too pleased with himself. "Everything you want."
"Damn right." Xanxus huffs when Sawada presses his nose against his scent gland, hitting him over the head before whirling around. "Come on, we need to pack."
"You smell so nice," Sawada whines. Xanxus isn't sure if he's trying to justify himself or just stating a fact. "I like it."
"I'm sure." Ridiculous brat. Xanxus still thinks Sawada is a mess but, and this is important, he's a useful mess. Besides, Xanxus is still walking a little funny and it's been almost half a day. So, all in all, the assassin is just as pleased with himself as Sawada seems to be.
As he damn well should be, Xanxus is a fucking catch.

(Boss, no)
Part 6 of The Advantages of Thirsting
Xanxus stares at the smitten little shit on the other side of the battlefield and sighs. He's never had this happen to him before. Not to this extent. The assassin clicks his tongue, kicking the wheel of Squalo's chair just to wipe that smirk off his face. "There has to be another way to do this." It's not like Xanxus hasn't used alphas' instincts against them, but Sawada is Vongola. Even if he's one of their civilians and obviously insane.
"No." Squalo's smug voice makes Xanxus want to strangle him. "Unless you want to marry him?"
Sawada chokes, dreamy eyes going wide. Xanxus shoots him because he deserves it for being annoying. But… it's not that bad of an idea. Look at that idiot, he's whipped already. Xanxus can take over Vongola, no problem. Sawada will not fight him on it. And Xanxus saw the glare the little alpha sent Reborn when the tutor tried to refuse Xanxus the address. With a little training, Sawada will be useful. It saves him the hassle of maneuvering around the proposals that stupid knot heads will send his way once Xanxus takes over. Even to this day there are alphas that believe they can gain control of the Varia through Xanxus. Vongola will just make them more interested. "Huh."
Beside him, Squalo straightens. "Shitty boss," the swordsman starts, enunciating every word carefully. "Don't."
"Watch me," Xanxus snorts, waving his gun dismissively. "Hey, trash!" He walks across the battlefield, reaching Sawada and fisting his hand on the alpha's shirt. "We're getting married."
"Ok." Sawada smiles, small but adoring.
Xanxus hits him for it. "Come on." He probably doesn't need to drag Sawada along but he enjoys walking just fast enough for Sawada to struggle.
"Boss, no!" Squalo hisses, riding that wheelchair as fast as he can.
"Boss, yes." Xanxus replies, because fuck him. He deserves the stress for his fucking attitude.
Sawada turns to stare at the swordsman, following without even looking where Xanxus is taking him to. "If you ruin this for me," Sawada smiles wider, smitten and all the deadlier for it, "I will rip you apart."
"Huh." Xanxus turns around, brow arched. See? Useful. "Good." The assassin pats him on the head, letting Sawada get away with his besotted little look this once.
Squalo falters but he recovers quickly. "You can't just get married."
"He's right, boss." The brat's right-hand agrees, deflating at the betrayed look of his boss. "We should at least prepare a small ceremony."
"That's not what I fucking mean!" Squalo screeches.
They all ignore him.
"Mama would be delighted to make some food for us," Reborn announces, apparently on their side now.
Dynamite guy nods. "I could give mama a call," he offers, just as earnest as Sawada. "If we're quick, we can even get some suits."
"No suits," Xanxus vetoes, feeling smug about his choice when Sawada immediately nods. "But the food part is fine." He shakes Sawada, just for the fun of it. "Do you know how to cook?"
"I'll learn," Sawada sparkles at him.
"Good." Xanxus slaps him over the head but the sparkling doesn't stop.

(Address)
Part 5 of The Advantages of Thirsting
Tsuna frowns, thinking that over. He thinks he's functional enough for killing, he looks down at his body. Then again, he could eat more healthy food, if that's what he means. His sanity has long been a part of the past. Since the day Reborn showed up, to be exact. If Reborn is the reason why this beautiful creature won't kill him, Tsuna will riot. There will be blood and death and a western standoff. Tsuna deserves this death. He earned it fair and square.
"And you think we're just going to give you the address?" Reborn snaps, somewhere to his right.
Turning to stare at him, Tsuna frowns that little bit harder. That's not nice.
The sexy villain just snorts, however. Before Tsuna can react, - not that he's complaining - Tsuna finds his face squished between the assassin's palms and his vision blocked by the most gorgeous pair of red eyes Tsuna has ever seen. His would-be killer (hopefully) arches a brow. "Well? Where's your house?"
"Tsunayoshi." Reborn's voice promises pain. But then again, Reborn's voice always promises pain and for the more minor inconveniences as well. It's his own fault that Tsuna has become a little desensitized. So Tsuna proceeds to give out his address with no shame. With instructions of how to better get there, just in case.
"You were saying?" The Varia Commander snorts, dismissing the glowering Reborn in favor of pulling Tsuna along. Presumably home.
Seeing as Tsuna has absolutely no problem with following, he lets himself be dragged along. Bubble butt, too. Tsuna smiles to himself. No, he's happy where he is. He's dragged all the way home and then up the stairs and to his bedroom, where the assassin deposits him on the bed. The omega snorts at Reborn's small hammock in the corner. "He'll kill you tonight, you know?" It's said with more humor than Tsuna has seen in him before.
"I'll fight him off for you," Tsuna promises. He's happy to die. This moment, even. But only as long as it's this gorgeous man who crushes him.
Xanxus looks at him for a long moment before snorting, dragging the blankets up and over Tsuna's face before slamming a pillow on the younger Sky's nose. "We'll see."
The sound of the door slamming signals the disappearance of Tsuna's future killer. Cute. With a sigh, the alpha pulls the blankets down and unclasps the mask. Damn that contraption.
"Useless-Tsuna," Reborn growls, gun glinting in the moonlight. "What was that?"
"If you try to kill me, I will fight you off." Tsuna squares his shoulders, fingers itching towards his pockets, where his gloves are safely stored.
Reborn stares at him for a long moment, expression blank. "That's your enemy. He's trying to kill you. He's trying to kill your friends."
"My friends will understand," Tsuna knows this. They love him enough not to take this from him.
"I'm cursed with idiots for students," Reborn laments. "If you wanted deadly, you could have gone for Bianchi. She can kill you just as easily."
"Have you smelt him?" Tsuna smiles at the ceiling. "And he's so cute, too."
"Cute?" Reborn shoots at his shoulder. "Xanxus? Commander of the Varia? Are we talking about the same guy? Tsunayoshi, he's killed more people than you can imagine."
"Lucky assholes," Tsuna growls, imagining all the ways he would kill them again if they weren't a thing of the past. "He is cute," he defends, dropping back down on the mattress. "He even tucked me in."
"He tried to smother you with a blanket and did hit you with a pillow." Reborn jumps on the bed, hitting Tsuna on the head as soon as he reaches him. "That's not tucking you in!"
"So cute," Tsuna repeats, breathing in the faint scent of the assassin lingering on his clothes. "Did you see how strong he is?"
Reborn stares at him for a long moment before he sighs. "I saw."

(Concussion)
Part 4 of The Advantages of Thirsting
So Xanxus knocked the little shit out. Out of sheer self-preservation. There's just so long one can have an alpha's nose pressed against one's wrist while the alpha murmurs how happily he would die by your hands. And Xanxus is starting to believe it, too. He gave the brat a few good hits and all the alpha did was marvel at Xanxus's strength.
"Nothing is wrong with him," the doctor concludes. "Other than the concussion." She sends Xanxus a disapproving frown.
Xanxus glares until she pales. "Something is wrong with him," Xanxus insists, gesturing at the brat helplessly. "He's drugged out of his mind."
The doctor points at the test results, "they all came negative."
It's at that moment that the little shit wakes up, whining about the smells and burying his nose against Xanxus's hip. Like the suicidal trash he is. Xanxus smacks him again, ignoring the displeased huff of the doctor. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
Sawada, proving Xanxus right, burrows that little bit closer, hiding his face against Xanxus's stomach. "Dying happy." But his shoulders lose some of the tension, so Xanxus bares his fangs and deals with it.
"He's hyper-sensitive to smells," Xanxus goes on. "They're giving him a headache." When the doctor just arches a brow, Xanxus snarls. "Before I gave him a concussion!"
"You have such a nice smell," Sawada comments out of nowhere, voice high and breathy.
Xanxus brings his arms up in victory. "See? I'm telling you there's something wrong with him."
"...because he likes your smell?"
"My smell is fine," Xanxus hisses back, ignoring the woman's slow-growing amusement. "But I keep telling him I will kill him and he keeps asking me to!" He steps forward, glowering at her. "This is not normal. Fix him, so I can kill him in peace."
"He's going to kill me tomorrow," Sawada informs, his voice back to dreamy. "It will be so worth it."
The doctor shakes her head in exasperation. "He's fine," she tells Xanxus again. "Sawada has always been sensitive to smells, I can give you a mask for him if you want but he should be fine once he's out of the hospital."
Sawada makes a sad, pitiful sound of dismay. Just for that, Xanxus takes the fucking mask.
It's less satisfying when Sawada doesn't even fight him on it. The alpha makes sad, puppy eyes but puts it on without a fight so Xanxus doesn't even have the vindictive glee of putting it on him. So he hits him for stress-relief and ignores the praise he gets for it. Somewhere in the background, Squalo snorts. Xanxus flips him off, on principle.
"Come on," Xanxus lifts Sawada up by the shirt and deposits him on the ground. "Where do you live? I don't care what they said, you're not fucking functional. I'm not killing you unless you are, it's a fucking waste of my time."

(Sexy boots and worthy demises)
Part 3 of The Advantages of Thirsting
Normally, Tsuna hates hospitals. If it was any other situation, he would run off as fast as he could. But the gorgeous creature meant to kill him dragged him here and that strong hand is still tangled in Tsuna's shirt, so Tsuna is going nowhere. He's happy where he is. Thank you. Not even Reborn's glaring can ruin this for him. That said, the strong smell of disinfectant, alcohol and other chemicals are giving him a killer headache. So despite his happiness, he can't quite help the way his forehead creases into a frown.
The sexy villain stares at him with a frown of his own. A frown Tsuna would spend the rest of his life in a hospital for. His red eyes narrow, gaze flickering away to the door. "Where's the doctor?"
"Coming, boss." The snickering loud one announces. "Don't you worry."
"I'm not worried," his future killer hisses. "Fuck you."
He so is, Tsuna thinks with a little smile. Gorgeous, deadly and cute. He sighs, looking back down at the boots. His death will be worth it.
Before Tsuna can voice it, the gorgeous man rounds on him. "What's with the frown, trash?"
So cute, Tsuna sighs happily. It earns him a shake by the hand still fisting his shirt. Right. The assassin requires an answer. "The smells are giving me a headache."
"The smells?" Reborn murmurs, cruelly taking away the sexy villain's attention. "This is the alpha ward, the smells shouldn't bother you."
"Well, they obviously do." The assassin shakes Tsuna a little more for emphasis. "You've been with him for over a year and you can't tell smells overwhelm him?"
Look at him, Tsuna smiles. So beautiful when he's angry. Xanxus should know, he decides. And says as much. "You look like a god when you're angry."
Xanxus stares at him, shaking his head. "What the fuck."
Tsuna takes the hit to the head without protest. "So strong," he sighs, happy down to his bones. Vongola wasn't part of his plan but as of right now, he has no protests.
"Shut the fuck up," hisses the god of sexy boots and worthy demises, shaking Tsuna harshly. "What is wrong with you? I'm having them test you for drugs, you fucking brat."
When he opens his mouth to answer, Tsuna finds his voice muffled by a big, warm hand. Breathing the assassin in, Tsuna leans into the touch. Such a nice smell. Absently, feeling a little daring, Tsuna presses a kiss into the calloused skin of that palm.

(Drugs)
Part 2 of The Advantages of Thirsting
Xanxus stares at the human disaster that is supposed to be his opponent. He's just standing there, looking at Xanxus like all the answers to life can be found under his nice looking boots. They're boots. Combat boots. Completely normal combat boots, even. Xanxus fucking checked. He turns, eyeing the crumpled form of Don Vongola on the ground. Xanxus clicks his tongue. He wants this fight, he wants to win Vongola's throne fairly enough. Yet, a part of him wants to check on the guy, see if he has a fever or if he's drugged or something but he suppresses the urge. Sawada is none of his fucking business, strange crush or not.
"Right." Xanxus holsters his guns again, staring around the battlefield for something to do. "We'll finish this tomorrow."
Sawada is nodding before Xanxus even finishes speaking. "Tomorrow," he says, like it's a confirmation for a date instead of a challenge. "And you'll step on me tomorrow?"
"Kill you," Xanxus corrects. He feels like he should be offended but he thinks Sawada doesn't think Xanxus is too soft or too weak or too gentle to kill him. Sawada is just happy to die by Xanxus's hand. Because he thinks Xanxus is hot.
What is wrong with these brats?
"Yes," Sawada sighs, like a school-girl fangirling. "You will kill me."
Xanxus eyes him, fingers twitching with the urge to shake Sawada's shoulders. "What is wrong with you?" He takes care to make it violent, as far away from worried as he can.
"Nothing is wrong with me," Sawada's face lights up anyway. "I'm fine. I'm great even. I've never been better."
Somehow Xanxus doesn't believe him. Poor dude. He's gone insane. Xanxus brings his wrist up, trying to catch a whiff of his smell. He's not close to a heat, he's pretty sure. And nope. He sniffs again, he smells like he always does. Sawada is still standing there, watching him with that silly little smile on his face. Xanxus frowns, killing the little shit now feels… Well, there would be no point in it.
Beside him, Squalo snorts. "He's got it bad."
"Did we drug him?!" Xanxus hisses under his breath. "I didn't give the order."
"We didn't drug him," Squalo eyes Sawada with the beginnings of glee edging into his smile. "This is all you."
"I didn't do shit," Xanxus protests. Other than the fighting, of course. "Look at him," he gestures at the guy. "I could beat him up and he'll thank me for it."
"I would," Sawada confirms, dreamily.
Xanxus makes a face, eyebrows rising at the confirmation. "See?"
Squalo's smirk has teeth. "He thinks you're beautiful and deadly and he will die happy between your thighs."
"So happy," Sawada confirms, looking at Xanxus's thighs with longing.
For lack of anything better to do, Xanxus shoots at both of them. Squalo avoids it, Sawada doesn't even try.

Hello! Just a question. I wrote a fanfic inspired, in part, by one of your fics, and I'd like to know how to best give credit to you! Would you rather your fic be mentioned on the beginning notes, or actively marked as inspiration?
Hiiii! That's amazing, can I have the link?
Also, whatever you're more comfortable is fine by me. It depends on whether or not you want people reading my fic to find yours easily and vice versa, since that's the feature that marking it as inspiration would enable.

(Knock-Off Telenovela)
Part 1 of The Advantages of Thirsting
It's not that Tsuna isn't taking this seriously. He is. His friends are on the line, his own safety is on the line. It's just that this is all too chaotic and ridiculous to be his life. He just fought a robot, a real life robot. A machine gun robot. A robot who is using his apparent grandfather as a battery. Again, how is this his life? Tsuna blinks, mind wandering for a moment as the old man gives his speech. Because of course he needs to give a speech, this is not real life this is a Mexican telenovela. Or something. Except with evil, less technologically advanced Iron Man. Tsuna wants a refund. If they're going to make his life into a telenovela, the least they could do is get a proper evil Iron Man. They're a knock-off telenovela.
Story of his life.
All he wanted was to go off to college, leaving tiny Namimori behind. Start over somewhere where his Useless-Tsuna nickname has never been a thing. But no, instead he's stuck here with a tiny gremling tutor, fighting for a position he doesn't even want.
Ah. The villain has started his own monologue. Tsuna eyes him. Fine, so they have an appropriately intimidating-looking villain. Sexy, too. And with a smell that's doing things to Tsuna's tiny alpha brain. Which might make this all worth his time, honestly. Tsuna will sit here, looking disheveled and beat up, as long as it's under the heel of those boots. Tsuna would beg to be under the heel of those boots. This man will kill him and Tsuna will die happy.
Poor Reborn, he tried so hard, only to be defeated by Tsuna's alpha instincts and his horny, horny hindbrain.
"...I will destroy everything you love."
Tsuna catches the end-tail of that monologue and nods because: understandable. "Please do."
The sexy, mouth-watering villain blinks. "What?"
"Go ahead," Tsuna answers, readily. "I will die happy."
Somewhere in the background, Reborn hisses.
"...What?" This time, the hot-as-fuck, evil assassin is staring at Tsuna like he's not sure how hard he hit his head. Which is fair.
"I will never find somebody as gorgeous as you to kill me, ever again." Tsuna admits, earnestly. "And your boots are very nice."
"My boots?" Those red eyes look down, staring at said foot-wear.
"Lussuria made those," the screaming one clarifies, like it means something.
Maybe it does, Tsuna doesn't care. "Hayato," he turns, but keeps his eyes on the beautiful demise coming his way, "we're sending this Lussuria flowers."
Hayato's response takes a moment but Tsuna knows he can trust the bomber with this.

Friends
Part 12 of Sass and Squirrels
Reborn arrives on a summer day. Xanxus is 14 to Tsunayoshi's 8, and the teachers have given up on separating them during school. Because he's a brat, Tsunayoshi is easily distractible but Xanxus makes sure he can keep up with the classes and a few of the smart teachers have learned that the best way to diffuse Xanxus is to convince Tsunayoshi. Really, his little brother is just lucky that he's so cute and that his power of friendship is a useful weapon. Patting Tsuna's hair, Xanxus ignores the way his little brother is draped over his back in favour of pushing away the family tree just enough to cover Sawada's name. Better.
"I don't have the time," Xanxus shrugs. The satisfaction of finally having what he was always owed offered to him is heady but Xanxus finds that there's no regret in his denial.
"Xan?"
Xanxus hums, burying his fingers in Tsuna's fluffy hair. "What?"
His little brother shrugs, letting go just long enough to settle on Xanxus's lap and reach for the pictures.
The Hitman twitches.
It takes a second for Xanxus to realize why and when he does, he blinks. In his old life, Xanxus had seen his fair share of dead bodies abandoned in ditches or the beach, some just on the street. All of that before 8. Then again, they're technically civilians in this life. It's too late to do anything about it now. "What do you think?"
Tsuna turns that pout of his on Xanxus, with wet, teary eyes for added effect. "No."
"You heard him," Xanxus agrees, pushing his brother's chin up so he can drop a kiss on his forehead.
Reborn's eyebrow twitches but he doesn't react with violence. Xanxus is sure that it's mostly due to Tsuna. The Hitman is many things but heartless is not one of them. Attacking an 8 year old civilian brat without a damn good reason is not something he would come close to considering. The Hitman clicks his tongue, "you don't have a choice."
"Sure I do," Xanxus disagrees, sure of his safety with Tsuna in a clingy mood. "I'll just say no."
"I will make you," Reborn contradicts, suave as only he can be.
"No, you really don't understand." Xanxus pats Tsuna's head. "This one is a full time job. The moment I get distracted he either starts a revolution or makes friends with some suicidal little shit who was trying to hurt him." And if in the last part he pulls a bit on his brother's hair, well… that's his business.
In front of him, Reborn blinks and his smile turns from smug assurance to glee. "Oh?"
Xanxus blinks, suddenly sure that he misstepped somewhere. "Yeah."
Tsuna wiggles in his arms, beaming at the cursed baby. "Let's be friends."
"Let's."

Animal Bandaids
Part 11 of Sass and Squirrels
"What do you think you're doing?" Xanxus growls and refuses to acknowledge that he could leave. "You're ruining my point!"
Tsunayoshi just pouts harder, pointedly picking a colourful bandaid and slapping it on Hibari's arm.
Xanxus sighs but settles with his hands shoved in his pockets. It's not like he doesn't notice Hibari's awed look at his little brother. Damn right, Tsunayoshi is the cutest. Still. "Fucking power of friendship. What the fuck." His baby brother isn't a doormat, Xanxus saw to that. And he isn't a harmless bug to be stepped on, either. But Tsunayoshi is still a soft, cuddly thing. It would be more annoying if it wasn't deadly effective. He eyes Hibari, case in point. The brat is looking at Xanxus's little brother like he wants to pet his head and cuddle him. Which, though understandable, is where Xanxus draws the line.
"Watch it," Xanxus snaps, lifting his knife back up when Hibari's hand twitches.
Hibari does the closest thing to a pout he can manage.
"San." Tsunayoshi smiles at him, rushing back to him now that he's done. "All gone."
"We'll buy more." He doesn't fight it by now. Xanxus just buys the freaking bandaids, he's not having the 'bandaids don't fix broken bones' talk with Tsunayoshi again. Brat is too stubborn for his own good.
Tsunayoshi hums, small hands insistingly tugging Xanxus's shirt. "Up."
"You can walk just fine," Xanxus protests but picks him up anyway.
After that day, however, Tsunayoshi earns a new bodyguard. Xanxus is caught between being pissed off at the audacity and glad that somebody else has it in him to keep the idiots away from Tsuna. Still, Xanxus only had to catch Hibari trying to teach Tsuna the Namimori's school anthem once before losing his shit. It's probably why Tsuna learnt it, too. Little brat loves giving Xanxus grey hairs. Nana thinks it's adorable, which Xanxus hates with a passion that surprises him but he does his best to not show it to his baby brother.
Tsuna is too young to understand Xanxus's distrust for their mother and though Xanxus isn't one to coddle, he's aware that his baby brother doesn't see Nana as the parenting figure. So she can't break his heart. There's no use in airing grievances either, Tsuna knows not to depend on her and that is going to have to be good enough.
