Well y’all, the sad day has finally arrived. The time has come for me to retire this blog. I will leave it up as an archive for those of you who may wish to revisit my posts, but I will no longer be active here. 

Tbh this is a lot harder to do than I thought it would be. I always planned to retire this page when the manga ended, but now that the time has arrived, I find myself extremely emotional about it and quite sad. Originally, I wanted to try and convert this blog to multifandom, but over time I just felt like that would be a huge disservice not only to you guys, but to this blog in general. I’d rather move blogs and start over while keeping this blog 100% snk and dedicated to Levi over trying to bumble fuck it into something else. 

I mean, this blog is six years of my life in this fandom. Six years of analyzing, thirsting, editing, shitposting, and loving this series and Levi all clustered together. It’s six years worth of me coping, making new friends, and talking to all of you. I feel like this blog is sacred to me for a lot of different reasons and because of that, I simply cannot bring myself to impede on it with other fandom content. 

So, I am permanently moving to my multifandom blog @gojous. 

Mutuals here will get an automatic followback from me there. I still post snk there, and I will also happily answer any asks some of you may have regarding snk and its characters there as well, but the time has come for me to move on from this blog. 

I just want to say that I love and appreciate every single one of you so, so much. Truly, y’all have been a light for me in the darkest times of my life, and while this fandom has had it’s ups and downs, it is still hands down my all time favorite fandom to be in and to interact with. Thank you to everyone who has followed or interacted with me on this platform. I hope to see a lot of y’all on my new blog, but if not, no hard feelings. I still love you all the same. 

I wish you all nothing but the best and I am so grateful to have shared this chaotic and emotional rollercoaster of a journey with you. I am so sad to see snk end, but good things cannot last forever. I hope you all know how much you mean to me and how truly honored I am to have had the amazing experiences you all have granted me on this blog. It has meant the absolute world to me.

I'm a mobile wheelchair user, Levi most likely does use the chair for longer distances and a cane for shorter ones.

Y'all omg. No ship for Levi is confirmed canon. Nothing involving romance for him is confirmed canon whatsoever besides the fact that he's bad at it.

So, what do you think is the cause that made Levi move with a wheelchair now? Considering he was resting one of his legs on one knee, I assume he can move his legs, but probably doesn't have enough strength to stand.

Yeah, I don't think he's paralyzed. I'm guessing he can walk with the help of a cane usually, but only short distances. If he's out and about, the wheelchair is probably just more convenient and less strenuous. That's my guess anyway.

Levi survived.

Levi succeeded.

Levi fulfilled his promise.

Levi fulfilled his purpose.

And in the end, Levi got closure.

Levi finally gets to move forward, and find a new purpose in life, and some semblance of peace in life just like he's always deserved, and just like I always wanted for him. I'm so proud of him and all he's accomplished, and he will always sit at the top of my list as my all time favorite character.

Even though your interpretation of Levi changed over time, are you confident in it and happy with it now based off the canon?

Yes! More so than ever tbh. I think because now we have pretty much all the canon info about him we will ever get.

The way that Levi acted and reacted to Erwin's death, is definitely the same situation for how Mikasa acted and reacted when she thought Eren died the first time (the first time Eren shifted into a titan). That's my opinion.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Mikasa reacted emotionally, and recklessly put her life on the line. Ready to die because of the grief she felt until she remembered Eren's words telling her to fight.

Levi chose to let Erwin die so he could find peace in death, and told his squad to move forward without regrets. He didn't lash out in reckless, emotional abandon. He was sad, yeah. But he hasn't shown any level of Mikasa's reaction to Eren's "death" in Trost.

Absolutely. Especially when the character interviews came out a couple years ago.

Queen, what do you think about Kamiya saying that Levi was left without a purpose after Erwin's death? Do you think it means that he doesn't have the will to continue fighting/living? I've seen people say that, but I strongly disagree.

No. It's clear he has the will to fight and live.

Isayama himself also said something similar to this in an interview after Erwin died in the manga. He stated Levi was just floating about, focused on his promise.

It's no outstanding leap to say Erwin gave Levi a purpose in life. He did. He gave Levi a positive outlet for his violent skills. He pulled him out of the underground and put him to work as a soldier for humanity. It was very give and take between the two. Erwin gained Levi's skills to utilize and Levi gained a worthy cause to use his skills for. Both of them moved forward with that in mind. When Erwin died, by Levi's own choice to let him rest, the person who gave him said purpose, and the orders to carry out said purpose was gone.

Clearly that affected him, and his unfulfilled promise to his dead comrades became his driving force moving forward. However, he never lost the purpose to fight for humanity. That's very clear to anyone who reads the manga. He's been doing that nonstop despite everything else.

So no, I don't think Levi lost his purpose, but I do think he lost sight of what that purpose meant to him personally for a time. His "thing to be drunk on" was being a hero. But after everyone died in Shiganshina, the heroes luster kind of fell off. Especially having Floch call the Commander he followed a demon.

He felt as if he failed his friend and comrades, and thus his purpose as "humanity's strongest". He walked them through hell and failed them. So he focused on his promise to kill the beast titan instead. To fulfill the promise they all died for because that's what he said he'd do.

In the end, he still fought for humanity, and put his life on the line selflessly for humanity along with everyone else. So I think saying he lost his purpose in life because Erwin died is an overstatement. His purpose remained, but how he moved forward to fulfill it changed.
