I haven’t posted for a while, mainly because I often forget that I have a tumblr but also because I’ve been busy working at a new job. I’m printing comic books and packing merch orders for a comic book company - the job sounds much cooler than it actually is, it’s so boring that most of the time I go on autopilot and/or want to scream at the top of my lungs.  It’s my birthday in a month (I’ll be 26) and then a couple of weeks after that I’ll be 3 years post-top surgery, and it feels like those 3 years have flown by.

Today I made another attempt with sculpting a mushroom. This is the 3rd shroom I’ve made so far. I’m still not overly sure what I’m meant to do with clay but I don’t think it’s going too bad considering this week is the first time I’ve ever sculpted anything? Tomorrow I’m gonna try make another one and see if it looks better if I sand down the cap before painting it.

As world mental health awareness day was yesterday, I've done a little comic strip about depersonalisation/dissociation. 

Although depersonalisation disorder is a disorder in its own right, depersonalisation can occur when somebody is experiencing high levels of anxiety and distress. People can also experience depersonalisation when experiencing panic attacks or as a result of trauma. When a persons anxiety levels are through the roof the body can create a feeling of being detached from itself, the world around you, your own body and other people or objects can feel unreal or like you're watching yourself in a film - which can be anxiety inducing in itself, often creating a vicious cycle. 

 Talking about our experiences with mental health issues can help to educate others and break down the stigma, it can also make us feel less alone.
