Hey, it's me delaney. I'm starting this studyblr as a way to gain inspiration and motivation to study better than I did in high school (which was not at all) as I start college. I'm majoring in chemical engineering at the University of Kentucky.
Hey guys! I know it’s been a while but here’s an update:
I’m about 4 weeks into my freshman spring semester and I haven’t been feeling too good. My classes are less interesting and more difficult than last semester and I’m having some minor issues in my friend group so I’ve just been emotionally exhausted the last month or so.
On the bright side, I’ve found some new music I really like and I got to read a little more Moby Dick which is good.
Anyways, I’m hoping I’ll get the hang of my courses soon and I’ll get some rest and eventually feel better.
I forgot to post for a while. Anyways, this week is finals week. I’m feeling pretty good; my grades are in a good place so I don’t have to stress too much for the exams.
Was my worst week of college so far. I had 2 exams and a group project (that ended up being a solo project because my partner didn’t do a single thing). On top of that and the rest of my weekly work load, I was in immense pain because, as it happens, I had an abscessed tooth. I ended up getting a root canal done on Friday but I had to miss class for it and that just added to the stress. Also, I was supposed to work but I didn’t have time and I feel bad for canceling. Anyways, it’s a new week and I’m doing better.
one thing i love about this community is that it is one big family and everyone is ready to support eachother. reblog this and follow the people that also reblog and start some super cute supportive friendships because you all deserve the best
My new favorite book!!!!! I’m only a third of the way through but I love it so much (I think I was a whaler in a past life 🤷♀️🐳👀). Also featuring my new favorite t-shirt that a friend got me for my bday. Moby Dick is totally the reason my August is ocean themed.
*** I know Moby Dick gets a lot of hate because it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it is exactly my cup of tea. Also, it’s so much funnier than I expected ???
Meaningful Quotes:
“And here, shipmates, is true and faithful repentance; not clamorous for pardon, but grateful for punishment.” - pg 76
“I have no objection to any person’s religion, be it what it may, so long as that person does not kill or insult any other person, because that other person don’t believe it also.” - pg 118
“What’s to be, will be; and then again, perhaps it won’t be, after all.” - pg 126
Funny Quotes:
“He was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal.” - pg 50
“This relieved me; and once more, and finally as it seemed to me, I pronounced him in my heart, a humbug.” - pg 127
“Dough-Boy’s whole life was one continual lip-quiver.” - pg 189
I decided to start a bullet journal this summer! It’s quite a big undertaking for someone who has habitually bought a school planner, used the planner for August, and then completely forgot all about the planner for the rest of the school year every year since fifth grade.
I plan on actually using my bullet journal for at least my freshman year of college, so I can get acclimated to how much and what is expected of me. Fingers crossed that I actually stick to it. I added a habit tracker for August to try to keep me accountable, let’s hope it works.
Since it’s summer, I’ve had a lot of time and I made my themes super cute.... buuutttt during the school year I probably won’t have as much time and they probably won’t be as cute :( Also, during the school year, my weekly spreads will be 2 pages instead of one so I’ll have enough space to write everything.
*** I do not take credit for the designs in my bullet journal. All of the stuff I’ve done in it has been inspired by (okay more like heavily based on) images I found on Pinterest.
