Need to revise the description of the exterior of the Crucible of Souls because it turns out what I'm thinking of does not qualify as a polygon or polygram. It seems like the right word is "dendrite", or at least that's the label applied to similarly complex snowflakes.
…Except, of course, does anyone present conceptualize and describe shapes like that? And is that description going to make sense to readers anyway?
(Also need to decide how wide a hole they're going to try to blow in it, and if it will take multiple rounds of dynamite to get all the way through the… roof? crust?)

what’s your ‘thing’ as a friend. i don’t mean like ‘oh im the mom friend’ i mean like what’s the Thing where if one of your friends was looking for a specific interaction they’d message you first. personally i can always be relied upon to get hyped about bugs, literature, and cursed internet images.

I don't recall being compelled to try new things -- generally I was interested in trying new things at least once. But I was compelled to eat a few specific foods that I detested, in the name of a balanced diet and Mom not having the time/energy/interest to cook personalized meals for each family member.
This was mostly when I was very young. Once Nick and I were old enough to be trusted in the kitchen, we and Mom came to an agreement where we could substitute any specific element of a meal that we loathed with something in the same category. So we could sub out a disliked carbohydrate for a different carbohydrate, a hated vegetable for a different vegetable, etc. That made life much smoother.
(There was one several-hour battle of wills over creamed spinach that I won so thoroughly that Mom stopped making it thereafter, but that was an unusual case. She was also pretty good about finding tolerable substitutes for assorted sandwich fillings, and gave up on making me drink orange juice or grape juice pretty early on.)

“Distant Galaxies”, a deep rich mix of purples and black. I dyed a batch of twenty on sock yarn for @wonderwoolwales but they are also available online. I’ve spent an hour trying to think of something sparklingly brilliant to say that will ensure folk engage but I am drawing a blank so image two is a review kindly posted by a lovely customer. I know beautiful photos aren’t enough these days but I really just care about yarn and people, not copywriting.
