“The way we see the world shapes the way we treat it. If a mountain is a deity, not a pile of ore; if a river is one of the veins of the land, not potential irrigation water; if a forest is a sacred grove, not timber; if other species are our biological kin, not resources; or if the planet is our mother, not an opportunity - then we will treat each one with greater respect. That is the challenge, to look at the world from a different perspective.”
Finally got a chance to post some updates! It's been a busy few months - February had a snowstorm blackout, March had officer elections for my school film organization (you're speaking to the new president here!), and I'm fully vaccinated, worked on film sets about every other day, interning for VSA media chair (so I'm working on a lot of graphics)... It's been busy, and I need to remind myself to take a break more often
day 18 & 19 of @progressaesthetics zoomester studyblr challenge
tag someone who’s blog you constantly check.
!!! @stuhde
tell us about your online experience (is it sometimes overwhelming? do you feel like its a great way to get in touch with people? what’s something that you love seeing on here?)
i think the internet is something that has changed all of our lives for better or for worse. if you can use it well, it benefits you & vice versa.
it can get overwhelming sometimes when you’re consuming so much information everyday but i think having balance is key. make sure you spend some time outdoors too & don’t just get caught up on your devices!
since it’s so easy to become interconnected with one another, i love that you’re able to find other people who share the same interests as you online. you get to feel a sense of belonging to a community that you may not be able to find offline (◍˃̵͈̑ᴗ˂̵͈̑)
All things considered, I think this is my secret sideblog? My main is @aequis, @shiiba-inu is my aesthetic one of sorts, @shxtposting-tm is sort of like my shitposting or social justice 🤷♀️
12.) What’s one of your fantasies?
I’ve got no clue what this means, but I often dream of the day I can become a cottagecore gremlin and escape society and my crippling student loans :>
24.) What are 3 places you want to travel?
Japan during cherry blossom season is one of the places I want to visit the most, then Seoul during Fashion Week, and finally, Switzerland during the spring or summertime!
Monster archive here, though none of the examples I doodled for this are actual existing monsters; I just thought this would be fun to make!
Like the opening says, these are the things I do for this setting, not the things I think you should do (or even what I do in other settings) but if you design things at all, for any reason, think about what “principles” or “guidelines” you would list out yourself.
If you were directing another artist to match your work, how would you explain it to them?
What interests and tastes are repeatedly expressed by how you design things?
What would “generic” examples of your style look like?
If you have multiple series or settings, do they all share the same set of visual trends or do they differ?
Can you think of any personal preferences you would be happier to indulge more? Is there good reason you haven’t?
EVEN IF I DONT COMMENT BACK I WOULD BE EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY ENTHUSED TO READ ANYTHING YOU ADD ABOUT YOUR OWN WORK IN A REBLOG SO PLEASE DON’T THINK THAT’S RUDE OR WEIRD OR BORING TO DO
