Environmental Climatology Outpost

This is an environmental setting comic to depict one of the two main types of outposts discussed in my novel, Transpecies, or the Postmodern Daedalus. There are Epidemiological and Veterinary Outposts (EVOs) and Environmental and Climatology Outputs (ECOs) which exist in wilderness areas, off-grid, mostly accessible to humans via VTOL aircraft and wildlife via portals that open at the base of a geodesic dome structure to allow them to enter. In this ECO, there's a bioengineered treehouse (tree that grows into a treehouse shape) with helical winding stairs built out from oar-like radial branches that occur at a slightly different angle for each rise in the tree's height. There's also computer visual fields and telecommunications to the outside worlds. Such structures somewhat blend into a natural environment while empowering preternatural ambassador animals (genetically enhanced talking animals) to communicate widely and access shelter.

These 8 storyboard images depict the sequence of plot events in my novel. From Lauren finding community with others who also had fursonas... to becoming her fursona... it's quite the ordeal, but despite tragic loss, she manages to fulfill her dream and find a second lifetime for herself as her gray wolf fursona in the distant future, with her memories of a past human life (the present day where she begins the narrative) having been stored into her bioengineered gray wolf brain. The title of the novel is Transpecies, or the Postmodern Daedalus.

Fursona Genesis Comic

This is basically the omniscient viewpoint of the plot of my novel, though it is canonically told from Lauren's point of view, as her memories are stored in records that survive into the distant future when she awakens as her gray wolf fursona because of what her human-body-self did in the rest of her lifetime to allow that resurrection to occur. The title of the novel is Transpecies, or the Postmodern Daedalus, and I'm currently querying literary agents with the completed text.

So this is what happened when I wanted to make fan art for Steins;Gate that was also personal to me. This is based on the ending of Steins;Gate0 which connects back to resolve the unclosed issues of the original Steins;Gate. I don't actually consider my current worldline to be the 1.048596 one because too many bad things have happened, and so I privately record it as a different worldline in my own notes, based on when certain events happened "in this worldline" but I don't have much Reading Steiner or deja vu, just the occasional nightmares about bad things on this worldline coming back to hit me in the present again, even if they were a long time ago, they set me on this not so ideal course. But then again, it seems I have lived a long time in this worldline, even if trans women don't get great life expectancies... and at least I settled on a good name for myself and transitioned, which are clearly parts of my Steins;Gate worldline, even though I strongly lament not being able to safely do so any sooner.

Foxwish is my middle name!

I leave now to become my feral vixensona. The Kerr black hole tracer will help me find its worldline. Let me ask you one last time... Does Foxwishs;Gate... Does it really exist, you think? It does. For sure. As of now, the operation begins! Its name is... Operation Hilton! Do you think... it'll succeed? Of course. Vixey can do it, meow. That's right. It makes the impossible possible. That's what makes Foxwish our Foxwish.

Life on Earth has a beginning, but no end. Infinite. One's life has a beginning, but it comes to an end by its own power. Finite. History has shown that those with wisdom are the greatest fools of all. Fish that live in the sea know nothing of land. If they had that wisdom, they, too, would be ruined. For a trans woman to become a feral vixen... ...is more foolish than for fish to start living on land. These words are meant for those who dare to defy God's final warning... An epigraph for their stubbornness.

[n.b. evolution of land animals from Tiktaalik etc.] [Also, a nothlit - a permanently changed being in Animorphs like Tobias - is an almost-anagram of Hilton, a hotel where the author stayed when writing it, and it is rumored some trans women stay at the Hilton or similar places when performing a change from the worldline of accepting being born as male to the worldline of being anatomically female, stuck as a nothlit in the female form ... hence Operation Hilton is the fancy name for the entry to the portal to access Foxwishs;Gate ]

The trans pride tricolor banners around the columns holding up fires of illumination at night represent a destination celebration... and the upper right Steins;Gate worldline numbers are sourced from photos of Nixie tubes, processed a great deal in Photoshop for better aesthetics...

I am usually a workaholic (Spring 2023 4.0 GPA, 1st place in 2023 university writing contest, etc.) but I'm so awfully glad I'm in the worldline where I watched all of Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate0 and the movie and the bonus episodes... next I just need to get through the Rukako route in Darling's Embrace. she's a trans woman icon too haha, almost did the worldline of afab'd Rukako instead of the SG worldline for this picture.

a celebration of life, and of survival, for this trans vixen who dared to defy the transphobes' god's warnings and live as me and transition anyway... that's what this art is.
