Meditation is not an activity. An activity has a doer. It has a beginning and therefore, an end.
Meditation is a state of being. It is a continuous presence of an inner silence.
An uncontaminated awareness of all that is, like a pristine flowing river.
There is no seer, only seeing.

Just as human life births from a single fertilised egg, the universe emerged from an infinitesimally small singularity. It is the source of manifest & un-manifested. The same energy manifests, sustains & transforms to manifest in another form.
Is there a place where the universe isn’t ? What part of it would you consider holy or unholy ?
Where is the distinction? What limited form can encompass the ever expanding, timeless, infinite?

The path of religion is a path of desire,
the path of moksha, is a path of desirelessness.
How can one be liberated if bound by desires ?

In the company of people, you cling strongly to your identity, for there are others you see. In the absence of others, the identity has nothing to cling to.
When compared to another, you are someone. Nothing to compare against, who are you ? You are a nobody. There is no need for your name, your position, your degrees, your opinions. All the labels the world has given you fade away. It all seems like an illusion and you discover yourself as the watchful awareness.
In this watchfulness, the seer and seen merge. In the disappearance of the false identity, the ‘self’ is revealed.

The path
Your spiritual journey is not separate from your life, life itself is a spiritual journey. It is the journey of your spirit, your soul, spread over eternity.
In meditation, do not give up, when you’re unable to sit longer despite trying for several months, or when the body sits, and the mind doesn’t.
The spiritual path doesn’t have an even terrain. There are months when one feels there has been no progress. It requires patience to understand that when the path gets steep or difficult to traverse, the steps are really small and the movement is hardly noticeable. But with small steps of perseverance, a difficult mountain is climbed, and the shackles of a habitual pattern, that bound us for lifetimes are broken, healing us and setting us free.
