I think I found my new favorite rabbit hole. This voice actor does Shakespeare scenes in a southern accent and I need to see the whole damn play. Absolutely beautiful
The death of the American West, romanticized as it may be, is something that's fascinated artists (writers, filmmakers, painters, the medium doesn't matter) ever since it happened. The antihero, in particular, is a popular choice for bleeding hearts. And the thing is... we love them. And the question is why?
Maybe it's because we see ourselves in them. How many of us, too, are living in a society that doesn't want us, that never wanted us? The laid off worker who's now homeless, the queer kid whose own country has turned against them... perhaps the reason we love these characters, these outlaws, is because we are outlaws ourselves.
If that's the case, we need to direct our own stories. Because unlike characters in a video game, we have control over our own lives. The narrative is not doomed, nor are we doomed by the narrative.

I love that Arthur has a chance to be sleeping when you load up the game, it implies that when you log out he just goes "welp, it's nap time" and next thing you know he's going honk shoo honk shoo against a rock in Rhodes
