Black Lives Matter is held to such a ridiculously high standard. If anyone who is REMOTELY associated with BLM commits an act of violence, white people use it as an excuse to smear the name of the entire movement.

Cops can murder unarmed Black people and many white folks still jump to defend the police force.

when are we gonna realize that these change dot org petitions are typically nothing more than performative activism that allows people who are unaffected (usually white people) to do the bare minimum and then pat ourselves on the back for being so involved and doing the right thing and standing up for people?

The common argument. “Not all cops are bad.” Where are the good cops? Where is their outcry? What were the so-called good cops doing? Standing and watching, doing nothing. And they never will. The few who try get pushed out, fired, harassed. There is no such thing as a good cop in their system.
