O, it me.
Aro culture is growing up in extremely codependent dynamics and trying to fit into amatonormativity, until one day you realize all your "crushes" were just developing into codependency and now you ask yourself "am I attracted to you or do I need to go back to therapy" and the answer is usually the therapy one

Started my first content development project for a company.
I’m nervous.
My friend works for the company, and if I look bad, he looks bad.
That’s pressure, but I am confident.

Back to work for Queer Theory with John Cleland’s Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure. I made some notes from the introduction that will help me keep in mind what I think I’ll find interesting as I read through it.
I pay very close attention to form, so all of my notes are on genre/form. Can you queer form when the novel has only existed for about a decade? Time to find out.
I also got a rocket book, and I am still experimenting with it. So far I like it. Does anyone have opinions on it? Sometimes I have trouble getting the writing to show up.

It’s always best to start seminar papers early in the morning and early in the semester. I learned my lesson last semester. . .
I love graduate school because I met my professor in a coffee shop to talk about my paper idea instead of her normal office hours, and there’s something about that that makes me feel like I’m taken seriously. Maybe that’s an odd me thing.
I am also loving photos that are split with a light/dark side. And bananas. I love bananas.

Just got done moderating my first ever panel. One of my classmates was doing her first ever conference presentation, and it was nice to be the moderator for her. One of the presenters didn’t show up, but the people who were there did a fantastic job.
The ideas on a Queer/intersectional design one presenter had were absolutely mind blowing.
Being apart of an academic conversation like this was beyond phenomenal, and it really shows how studying/thinking occur outside the classroom and in conversations!

Been really busy with Digital Humanities work because I picked up extra hours on another professor’s project. I even get credited!
With all of that done, it’s time to get back to 18th century Queer Theory. Here are this weeks readings and my short Restoration Comedy notes.
Last semester I had to read two novels a week, so shifting gears to plays and poetry makes me so happy. This class is so close to my area of interest too.
I’m really enjoying this class for it’s content and rigor. It’s just the atmosphere I need to become a better academic.

Hello, it’s me, everyone’s fifteenth favorite brand new rough aesthetic Studyblr. I’m so rough that I’m only partially sure of it’s meaning in this context, but I don’t even take the Used stickers off the books I buy from the university bookstore. Enjoy this picture of last semester’s reading material. I’m also so brand new that I’ve been lurking in the community since I was an undergraduate, yet I don’t know anyone’s names except Emma because everyone talks about her.
My name is not really Kaai- it’s David- but you can call me either one. I’m in my second semester of my first year of graduate school here in America. You can probably tell by the number of Penguins as required reading material that my degree is for English literature. In my cohort, I’m the Shakespeare guy. (You’ll be seeing pictures of the replica Black Friars theater I go to.)
I’ve finally come out of hiding to find people to talk to because my cohort is very small and studying/working for 8+ hours a day alone kinda sucks. Got questions about graduate school? Fire away. English lit fan? I probably haven’t read your favorite book, so please don’t put that pressure on me in an ask.
My classes this semester are Affect Theory, Queer Theory in 18th Century Literature, and Black Studies in Black Archives. I have mixed feelings about them, and the
Let’s be friends.
