It was nice too see Choi Seung Hyun’s name pop up in a positive way. I hope that’s a good sign for him.

I recognize it’s self-centered of me to even worry about it something like this considering the bigger picture of suffering, but I hope the Coronavirus outbreak doesn’t affect the BTS tour.

I’m worried about Choi Seung-hyun. I hope there’s someone in his life making sure he’s okay. I’m not really familiar with BigBang’s music, but I really don’t want to see another name added to the chain of k-pop suicides that started with Kim Jong-hyun.

Prodigal Son May have lost me with last week’s turn of events. Going to give it a week or two benefit of the doubt, though.

Prodigal Son
Can we just be done with the FBI agent lady now? I find myself fast forwarding past any scene she’s in, and she’s not even good at her job, to boot.
I wonder if this scare will provoke Martin into an escape attempt, especially if he finds out Watkins is still alive. (Surely TPTB wouldn’t be stupid enough to incarcerate them both in the same place.)
Awesome episode on the whole! Live that the family came together to save themselves (and that Ainsley seems to have come to her senses and gotten her priorities back in the right order.)

Anti
After some thought, I’ve decided the only thing I’m an anti of is anti-label. I don’t care who you love or who you lust after or what you identify as or what label with which you want to be identified. Don’t stick a label on me; don’t tell me what label I should stick on you. People are not that neatly categorized. So long as you’re not carelessly or intentionally hurting others, do and think what you want, and let me do and think what I want. That is all.

the real glo up is when you accept everyone for who they are and you accept yourself for who you are and focus your energy on enjoying life and making the best of every moment instead of looking around at everyone else’s life with envy and self loathing

The King
I was able to be dutifully patient for Lee MinHo’s The King and Wang YiBo’s The Legend of Fei right through Christmas and into the new year, but now we’re well into January and I just want them already. *whines over dramatically*

Tired of the world...
I really think the world needs fewer activists and more people who are considerate & respectful...off-line and online. Tearing someone down doesn’t raise anyone else up. It just dims a light that brightened the world, making it darker for all of us.

K-dramas
(with the occasional C-drama tosses in, too.)
Just wrapped a glorious binge-watch of The Legend of the Blue Sea and found myself musing about why I adore so many romantic K-dramas and even a few Chinese romantic dramas, but very seldom a Western romantic drama (there are a few that I love.) I think i’ve decided it’s because the ones I like focus on the characters falling in the with the other person’s soul, whereas the one's I don’t like focus on physical/sexual attraction with an emphasis on hooking up for sex, which I find to be the most uninteresting part of any story. Course, a good plot to go along with the romantic drama helps, too.

I was listening to some Star Wars discussion and had an ephiphany (possibly inaccurate due to my lack of Star Wars knowledge...) that Star Wars is Xianxia in a Western setting.

I wonder if Nie Huiasang distracted Jin Guangyao and Zewu-Jun at the Cultivator Conference with the intention of giving Hanguang-jun and Wei WuXian an opportunity to snoop, having guessed their intentions by their presence (since Lan WanJi didn’t usually attend and Mo Xuanyu had been banished.)

Two of my favorites!
realizing that wei wuxian and lan wangji fall very easily into pride and prejudice parallels
wei wuxian and elizabeth bennet: talkative, witty, energetic, clever, a favorite of their father and least favorite of their mother, deep admiration for their elder sister to whom they are very close, extremely protective of their elder sister’s romantic lives, initially believe themselves to be disliked by their love interest whose feelings they are completely oblivious to, reject their love interest’s first confessions (“you were the last man in the world on whom I could ever be prevailed on to marry” / “get lost”), develop feelings after some self-reflection and once their love interest has developed better communication skills
lan wangji and fitzwilliam darcy: aloof, quiet, cold, filial, initial irritation at their love interest’s antics quickly gives way to romantic feelings that they are nonetheless completely incompetent at communicating, put the happiness of their love interest above their own self-interest (lwj rebelling against his clan elders to help wwx escape, darcy paying off wickham to save elizabeth’s family’s from social ruin) even after being rejected, surprised but delighted when their feelings are finally reciprocated
