not a request but I’ve been in the fandom for almost a year meaning I haven’t experienced the crits. Sorry if it’s touchy but,what impact did they make or what did they do? Ik they hated on funamusea and did weird shit with the characters but that’s it.

to make a very long story short, they’re in that “negative criticism hivemind” tumblr is known for, where they would swarm people who disagree with them and do everything in their power to dig up dirt about people, such as posting old art (or art from other websites not on tumblr), text posts from years ago, doxxing, or even ruining a hosted event by bringing things unrelated to the situation.

they enjoyed callout culture and often bullied other users, especially popular artists, sometimes for no reason at all, other for the typical sjw reasons, and it got so bad that some artists ended either hiding away or never coming back. and worst of all, they laughed about it, and even made very inappropriate, cruel, and sometimes sadistic remarks about people who were targeted. there was also misc drama that i dont care enough for, but their hostility and attitudes makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

they also completely erased characters for the sake of identity, or “representation”. they were hypocritical and confusing, because they hated funamusea, but still “liked” it, but didnt wanna associate with the fandom, even though they repeatedly (and that includes posting in the tags), most of the time not on good or respectful terms.

i usually wouldnt mention crits, but ive still seen them around, with my most recent sighting was in december when people were calling out someone for hosting a secret santa because of inane reasons. crits usually ended up being kin with mogeko characters, but considering how they characters and much worse other people, i dont want to do anything relating to them or for them for my own comfort.

thank you for asking! this isnt a hard topic for me. i was only targeted once and it was very indirectly, but their other actions had a much bigger impact on me, but thank you for trying to be considerate! it means a lot to me!

hi! i was wondering, whats the difference between kin and id?

hi! thank you for your question, it is a good one!

id essentially means those are your most primary kins, and the kins that you feel closest to/most relate to. they are essentially what you use to identify yourself the most with. kin is a broad term, and applies to many different things, such as lesser connections (secondary and so forth (some people include primary in this, while ids are more of “mains”)).

some examples of id’ing yourself with a character or creature is wishing to take up their name as your own, or a name relating to the creature you identify with, feeling a very deep connection to said character or creature, wishing to be associated with that creature or character, etc.

for comparison, I id with a character like Ivlis, because I feel the deepest connections to him, than say with meikai, who I simply just identify as. It’s more so saying, these characters are the closest definitions of me that I personally feel, and the closest to “me” that I can get. meikai still defines me, but i feel personally ivlis characterizes me better! (along with my other ids)

it shouldnt be confused with “i am actually this character/species irl” or “more real” than otherkin already is. it is simply communicating your strongest connections, and usually implies that it defines a massive part of yourself.
