purge of 2002? of 2012? what ARE those?

Oh, how quickly the past is forgotten. 

They are part of the reason A03 is a thing now. Not the whole reason, but part of it. 

The Great Purges of 2002 and 2012 are when ff.net got a wild hair up their ass about THINK OF THE CHILDREN and nuked any fic posted on there that was explicit. Thousands upon thousands of nc-17 smutfics were lost.

It’s what led to the creation of alternate hosting sites for smutty fic…AdultFanfiction was the one I went to…but thousands of fics would never be recovered.

honestly those people wouldn't have survived fandom 10-15 years ago when multishipping was the norm without assholes coming at you for it.

I miss the multishipping days so much. I am very much so still a believer and adherent to Old Fandom laws (i.e. DLDR, SALS, multishipping, etc). We weren't meant to engage with fiction so rigidly because nebulousness is the whole point of its existence. But anyway.

you do realize if you keep posting about buddie and making posts about bucktommy about buddie or eddie they might actually do buddie right? they listen to fans and if people keep doing this they are going to break up bucktommy just to keep people happy. please be mindful with your posts, youre really hurting the chances for endgame bucktommy.

Isaac Lahey is such a character because he had the worst childhood ever and worked as a 16 year old GRAVEDIGGER (for one scene just so you know how much his life sucks). then he gets his special werewolf bite and is like “I have a leather jacket and claws so I’m going to be a bitch to everyone” until someone (aka Scotty “I don’t want you to get hurt” McCall) is the teensy tiniest bit nice to him. then Isaac thinks “hmm I will still be a bitch to everyone but also I am bisexual now and I will trust my life to this guy I’ve spoken to thrice and who openly admits that he never has any idea what he is doing”
