So after an altercation that I saw at a bus station yesterday I finally got something that I've been meaning to get, well ever since coming to live by myself lol

I feel like the bright pink is a good "stay away from me!" Kind of color lol Hopefully I'll never have to actually use it Already practiced with it a couple of times, super easy, super quick, the keychain has a quick release button on it etc And it wasn't a bad price!

THE ALTERCATION

I was at the bus station waiting for the bus, a man came and sat next to this lady and tried to steal her purse! literally in front of the whole bus station and with the ticket lady nearby and while the purse was still across her body

I think they knew each other because they'd been fighting under their breaths with each other

Well they left, she came back after a few minutes The guy comes back proceeding to pace around the bus station talking about something having to do with her or her money or something (OUT LOUD like he's trying to plead his case to a jury or something!)

If I could, at the drop of a pin I'd move back out to the country I grew up in a small town where there was no crime, everyone knew everyone and your neighbors would give you the shirt off their backs for you

Like, my mom's ex was blind and every time it snowed our neighbors a few miles away would come with their tractor or whatever and shovel the snow out of our driveway

The neighbors near where my dad lived made me a shirt with a horse on it (my favorite animal) with my name underneath, just cause 🤷‍♀️

Kids could play wherever they wanted and you knew they were safe, and if you were worried sometimes the neighbors had an idea where you might be (they'd look out for us too)

Never had to worry about your bag or purse or wallet being stolen if you accidentally left it somewhere

I'm telling you! Small towns are where it's at!

Crime weirdos and freaks run rampant where I live now

So...I heard from someone today that I haven't talked to in SEVEN YEARS! my dad A lot of you know my dad sort of estranged himself from us with really no reason why

Well shortly after Thanksgiving his wife (i will never refer to her as my stepmom) Randomly reached out to me (again, been 7yrs since hearing from either of them) Well after I opened up a can of worms on her (which she wasn't obviously expecting)

The conversation basically ended with me telling her there were things Dad needed to know, things he'd done to me that messed me up Well the conversation ended with her telling me she'd shown dad my message

I of course thought she was bull crapping cause that's what she would do

Fast forward to two days ago and dad messages me through her Facebook wanting my # saying h wanted to call me

Well 2 days passed and I was starting to assume he was just saying he would call just to stroke his ego But tonight he finally did call...on restricted though so I can't see his number

It only lasted 66 seconds, but within those 66 seconds I was able to express to him that I'd like to talk more He said he hasn't been talking to us because there's been things he's working through that he wasn't ready to talk about

I told him you know that's fine but that doesn't mean we can't talk at all

He said I know and that we'd talk more I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I'm hoping this might be the start of us fixing our relationship I can at least hope and pray it will

Finally caught a few ants for the ant farm my sister and sister-in-law got me for my birthday!!

We originally ordered ants from the company that makes the ant farm but unfortunately they died before they could get here :/ (luckily the company says that if you email them they'll either send you more or give you a refund)

for now I've been working on catching my own lol...I've only got TWO so far (these suckers are fast! and hard to catch!)

They sure do love that tangerine! Hope one is a boy and one is a girl lol, gonna try to catch some more later, the more there are the more likely there's a chance one of them is a girl lol!

This song will forever make me think about my dad

My dad walked away from my sister's and I (and basically his entire family) shortly after he remarried

He was such a big part of my life as a child and young adult, he always used to tell people how important we were to him So for him to walk away like he did has hurt like nothing I've known

It started in 2015 when he kicked me out, after a few months things cooled off and we tried to restore our relationship with him but it seemed like every time we did he just would throw the chance away and hurt us again, try to make amends, and then throw that chance away again

Part of me will always want, and wait for him to be the dad I once knew

Then the other part of me is worried he'd just walk away again and I know my heart couldn't take it anymore

Today's his birthday so of course I can't help but think about him because for some stupid reason I still can't forget him or move on

Got my bitty boomer in the mail on Monday!

I'd originally seen them at target but they didn't have any I liked (which was El of course!)

This is actually the wrong speaker though, I ordered season 4 El but they accidentally sent me season 1 El (nothing particularly wrong with it, I just like season 4's version better)

I sent them an email and a few days later they replied back with apologies and sent out the correct one (it should be here sometime middle of next week)

Not only that but they also let me keep the one they accidentally sent me!!

And for the price ($24ish) it has AMAZING sound, better than some of the other bigger Bluetooth speakers I have!!

The power button also doubles as a selfie remote!

It comes with a little wrist strap too so you can tie it to a backpack, purse or whatever

DEFINITELY recommend!! They're so cute, affordable, and have AMAZING sound (and they're super small and convenient too!)

Updates to come when I get my other one (you can also connect two speakers together for even more sound!)

Took my lil man Christopher out today

We took the bus because our weather has been ridiculous lately (otherwise I usually walk to places that are within a reasonable distance)

For those who AREN’T familiar with me or Christopher, Christopher is my reborn which people collect and/or take care of for a multitude of reasons

They help with those who have had a miscarriage and are maybe dealing with depression, they help people with depression and even those with anxiety (studies have actually shown this)

They even help those with dementia and Alzheimer’s

And also (as is my case) helps those with infertility who REALLY want kids but of course can’t have them (and are for one reason or another unable to adopt or foster, my case is I live in a one bedroom apartment)

I do get some weird looks sometimes, but for the most part he fools most people and I love it when he does, adds to the illusion

Yes I know he’s not real, and I am fully able to acknowledge that fact, but he definitely helps with my desire to have kids (I bought him when my baby fever was at an all time high and absolutely fell head over heels the first time I saw him)

Some people will always judge and have something to say (and insist I need mental help) but that’s ok, he makes me happy and that’s all that matters

(My family completely understands, is supportive, and LOVE him as much as I do)

Monday as I was clocking out to go on break, my manager was like "Oh! I got you something!" (I thought like she'd gotten everyone something and was going to give me mine)

Instead she goes into the office and comes back with a stranger things sweater!!

She said "I was out shopping at goodwill over the weekend and I saw this and thought you'd like it!"

you should've seen the way my eyes lit up! Not only did she see something and thought of me when she saw it, but to actually get it for me??

Just a constant rinder of how great of a manager I have!

It was one of those days where this kind of act of kindness was needed! I've been so stressed out this week and have had things on my mind that I was worried about (I haven't finished my taxes yet and it ain't looking pretty)

And this is one of those things I needed to lift my spirits a bit

So I've been reading the "Legend of Zelda" manga's and all I can think is man! how cool would it be/have been to have gotten a live action movie based around the zelda franchise? me being biased like I am would have LOVED a live action movie of "Ocarina of Time" it would of course be based around the game and the main theme of the game but they could've included some of the amazing stories that happen within the manga's that you don't get to see in the actual game or storyline of the game like how cool would that have been?? I guess some things just aren't meant to happen movie producers are probably scared of the zelda fanbase because if they screwed something up we'd come after them 😂 p.s the manga's are AMAZING! sort of a "between the lines" type of thing with backstories, side stories, and other stuff that you don't actually see in the games themselves

We did a secret Santa thing for our monthly meeting at work this month and the co-worker who drew my name really hit it out of the ballpark!! She got me stranger things themed socks And a $20 pink Barnes and noble gift card! I instantly knew she was my secret Santa because of the stranger things socks (because she was the only one who INSTANTLY knew who I dressed up as back in October on our costume day lol) How she knew I liked pink and liked books/reading I'm not sure (though I do wear pink jackets and other clothing at work alot when we don't have to wear our uniforms lol) Her card was so sweet too!
