hey, question about your storenvy. it says your shop is located in france, so how come shipping inside the eu is so expensive?
It's a good question and I'm afraid I don't have a very satisfactory answer.
Storenvy has a system that allows you to set up different shipping groups for products that have different weights ; for each of these shipping classes, you set a shipping fee for the first item, and one for each additional item of that same shipping group.
What I've decided to do is that for all shipping groups, I set the "first item" price to more or less what shipping costs me (with a rough conversion from € to $). I always use tracking, so for the EU, for example, the tracked stamp currently costs 4,50€ for <20g, 6,25€ for 20 to 100g, 11,25€ for 100 to 250g, 13,35€ for 250 to 500g and 25,25€ for 500g to 2kg. In addition to that, I set the price of the additional item to less than 0,50€ (if customers order enough things for the package to go up into the higher weight category, I'm ok with losing a bit of money on shipping itself)
Where the system doesn't work super well is if someone orders two items from different shipping groups : in that case, Storenvy charges the "first item" price for each item, so if you order a book AND a pack of stickers, you end up paying something like 13,35+6,25=19,60€ (roughly 20,92 dollars). (It would be waaaaaay better if you could just charge the "first item" price once for the item that has the highest and then just use the "additional item" price of each extra item's shipping group, which doesn't seem too complicated, but, well...)
For now, I haven't found the time to try and find a more satisfactory way of using shipping groups. I'll try to figure something out at some point, but in the meantime, when I notice orders that have these kinds of disproportionate shipping costs, I tend to add freebies and stuff because I know it sucks.
That's all, I hope this exposé makes sense.

Some people were asking, soooo yes, these stickers are on my storenvy. (I have a whole bunch of other stuff there, like zines, tote bags and MORE STICKERS)
Last year, I've been in a sticker-making frenzy before work caught up with me, so I made these. It was a lot of fun.
