Alright, I need a second opinion again! Why is Rue always the one that makes me question myself the most? It’s very meta, isn’t it? 😂 I’m pretty set with the design for Kraehe, but I’ve come up with three possible designs for Rue, and it’s all contingent on whether I should include some ravens or not.
The Rue piece is supposed to invoke the Dying Swan solo she does when she trapped by the Monster Raven. I’m not sure if having three ravens makes the composition too busy, but I thought having some ravens present would be a nice call back to the before mentioned scene from the anime, while also kind of mirroring Ahiru’s design where duck!Ahiru is next to human!Ahiru (ie one image has bird(s) the other also has bird(s), or something like that.
Anyway, lemme know which you prefer through the poll! Just keep in mind I’ll also have floral and star chart design in the background like the Tutu and Ahiru pieces, so it’s not gonna be completely empty in the back.

I think the order I’m gonna do for the PT framed series is Tutu/Ahiru, then Fakir, Kraehe/Rue, Mytho/Siegfried, and finally the four “secret” designs 😚 We’ll see how things shake out, but that’s currently my plan going forward.

For anyone who’s watched Princess Tutu, I think you’ll agree with me that Ahiru is so much more than “just a duck”. The flower I chose for her is the common lawn daisy (yes, the ones that you see blooming on your lawn or on a random patch of grass on the side of the road). Though they may seem plain and mundane, they symbolize joy, cheer, and new beginnings, qualities that Ahiru bring to those around her. 🐣🐥

Princess Tutu is a show that’s close to my heart, and I really wanted to draw the 4 main characters for this series. There will be 3 designs (or “roles”, if you will) per character, and we start with none other than the titular Princess Tutu herself! 🩰 👑 🌸

I need some help with my Rue design. I was originally going to go with A, but I realized her red ballet practice costume doesn’t have a lot of details and will make her fade into the background. So I decided to draw her in her school uniform.
However, for this Princess Tutu series I want each variant of the character to have somewhat mirrored poses to reflect how they each had different roles within the meta story of PT. The Kraehe design is final, but I have a hard time deciding between B and C. 😕 B obviously more closely mirrors Kraehe’s pose, but to me her expression doesn’t quite match her body language. C doesn’t mirror Kraehe’s poses as much, but is more expressive and is also based on Rue’s stage entrance when she steps in to dance with the Ghost Maiden in episode 4.
I think I am leaning slightly more towards C, but please let me know which one you prefer by voting in this poll!

Been working on these two for weeks, mostly because I keep finding something to adjust to fix 😂
The flowers here are balloon flower for Helios and moon flowers for Lady. Balloon flower mean “everlasting love” while moon flowers mean “dreaming of love”, perfect for a couple who met in a dream and who promised to see one another again in the future. 🦄🐰 💖

Last but not least of the Sailor Quartet is Ceres!
Her flower is the poppy, which grows in soil that had been plowed and was thus sacred to the goddess of agriculture for whom she’s named after. Morphine, a powerful sedative, can be extracted from poppies, and is a tie in with CereCere’s ability to put a crowd into a stupor.

Not gonna lie, Juno was a hard one to design for. Unlike the other Quartet, she doesn’t have any objects she’s uniquely associated with, and her main canon attribute is being an acrobat 😂 Even her Greco-Roman counter part was a bit of a challenge. Hera/Juno is the patron goddess of marriage, and some people claim calla lilies are associated with her. However, I find this a bit of a stretch, as calla lilies originate from southern Africa and was first described by European botanists in the 18th century 🤣
In the end I tried to show case Juno’s acrobatic abilities with a dynamic pose. I tried to incorporate peacock colors for the background as Hera was associated with peacocks. And though the “myth” of calla lilies originating from Hera/Juno might be just that, a myth someone cooked up, their long stems do remind one of Juno’s rather unusual hair style 😉

I didn’t know flame lily (also known as gloriosa lily) existed before I started doing research for Vesta’s floral motif. It’s’ a very cool looking plant…and about as dangerous as a fire, as all parts of the plant is poisonous. ☠️ But like a fire, it can also be harnessed, and is used in various traditional medicines around the world.
