It’s April 1st, so that means time for a non-drawing hand challenge. It turned out way better than I expected. I did use the circle and line tool in a few instances, but I did it left-handed! In fact, everything, from the sketch layers to the lineart to the coloring, was all done with my non-drawing hand.
This women’s history month, remember those in Gaza who don’t have feminine hygiene products for their periods. Remember the pregnant mothers who got ran over by IDF tanks. Remember the women who have been killed and displaced, & IDF soldiers humiliate them further by brandishing their undergarments in posts and pictures.
Remember the women in Palestine this Women’s History Month.
heads up! tomorrow on march 2, Saturday there'll be a global march for Palestine, that means I won't be posting or reblogging anything unless its resources and information on the genocide. one of the marches happens to be held in my area, which I'll be attending
it's up to us to uplift the their voices and do everything we can to stop the genocide against Palestinians, no matter how small the action is!
some resources:
information on the global march available at shutitdown4palestine.org
tutorial on how to purchase e-sims for palestinians
donate to Care For Gaza, a non-profit helping to provide food and aid
donate to Direct Aid for Gaza, also helping to deliver food and aid, including hygiene products
actions you can take to help call for a ceasefire if you live in the US here (such as signing petitions, contacting congress, also more donation links) (UK and Canada actions available as well)
Jewish Voice for Peace's website here, includes actions you can take in the US to contact our government for a ceasefire
I’ve seen all of these. What actually hit me the hardest was when that little girl was identified and I saw a picture of her when she was alive and happy, just being a child with her loved ones. I’m pretty desensitised to gore unfortunately but I will never not feel sick when I remember that all these horrible images were and are all people. We are literally living through the most well documented genocide in human history, being completely broadcast in full time and yet people still debate over whether it’s wrong. I cannot imagine how braindead people must’ve been back when they had excuses for their ignorance. I try so hard every day to not let my hatred of Zionism crush my hope for a safe future, but this is truly the most evil I have ever seen. If you are still talking about October 7 and Hamas right now I genuinely don’t even know what to fucking say to you. You are either blind or just straight up evil.
Glad Zionists think these are acceptable things to write about and say aloud so we don’t have to waste our time going back and forth with “it’s just about hamas!” arguments. It was never just about hamas
Just like when he claimed there would be a ceasefire by last Monday (a claim denied by both Hamas and the Israelis), this is likely another ploy to make people who are pro Palestine to stay home and not vote 'uncommitted'
The airdrops aren't nearly enough to help the starving Palestinians anyway
Palestinian pop singer Bashar Murad is hoping to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in May and bring “a Palestinian voice to the main stage”.
[...] Murad is competing in the national final with a song co-written by Einar Stefansson of the Icelandic band Hatari, known for raising a banner showing Palestinian flags during the 2019 Eurovision Contest.
[...] In Iceland’s domestic qualification, singers of any nationality can participate if they sing their song in the first semifinal in Icelandic.
Murad, who was born in and lives in occupied East Jerusalem, said it was difficult to learn the song in Icelandic, but he found some similarities to Arabic.
His entry, Wild West, tells the story of challenging boundaries and chasing dreams against all odds.
“I wanted to illustrate how many obstacles as Palestinians we have to go through in order to be heard … we’re excluded from every mainstream platform,” he said.
“Everyone has theories about my participation. And everyone is politicising my existence when I’m really just a human who had a dream and applied for this competition fair and square.”
When asked if Murad wants Israel to participate in the
competition, he said, “Of course, I don’t want my occupier to be there.”
“But my main focus right now is to be able to bring, for the first time in history, a Palestinian voice to the main stage.”
Iceland’s domestic ESC qualification, Söngvakeppnin, will be decided today (2 Mar 2024).
I don't know how many people are aware, but on the 2nd of March, there will be a shutdown for Palestine. It's a one-day strike.
For one day, everyone is encouraged to stop posting as they usually would and instead focus on Palestine. Please use this day if not any other to share information, to protest, to donate, etc. Do what you can. Even sharing information and speaking up helps.
Of course, it is encouraged to share and post about Palestine every day you possibly can. But this day is more important than ever as it marks the day that a global call to end the genocide is occurring.
I recommend going to the website Shut It Down for Palestine (linked below) for more information.
After two long weeks of looking, Hussam managed to find 500 blankets for displaced people! The nights in Gaza are quite cold, especially in a tent with little protection from the elements, so these will go a long way to help people stay warm!!
For those of you who have been following this, my tumblr ‘helpgazachildren’ was deleted for unknown reasons. In the meantime, I put together this notion site to help document all the receipts and videos of updates for people who want a backlog of information. I will be continuously updating this site.
Please consider donating today. Your donations go directly to people in need with NO middle man in between. No donation amount is too little, or if you’re unable to donate please spread the link today!!!
For those who cannot donate through paypal, here is Hussam’s gofundme! Please note that Paypal is still the preferred way to donate!
ID: Video of the 500 blankets which then cuts to the distribution of blankets to displaced peoples as they walk away. The three pictures are of people as they walk away with blankets atop their heads.
the flour massacre is ongoing. it is everyday. it was not an isolated event. it was not even the first time israel shot at and killed palestinians going for aid (they do it whenever they allow aid through). in fact, they did the exact same thing yesterday morning. just because smaller-scale murders go under the radar for lack of shock factor doesn’t mean they’re not happening continuously.
