“Doll, I’m home” Bucky said as he closed the front door of your shared apartment.

You chuckled slowly. Bucky would always come into the house like it was a sitcom.

“I’m here!” you said from the living room and put your book down on the coffee table. Bucky entered the room with a big smile on his face and gave you a big kiss like he always did.

“Where is Alpine?” he asked, looking around as he sat next to you on the couch.

“He is in the bedroom. Please don’t wake him up, Bucky. He has been playing with that toy you bought him all day.” you said as you crawled on his lap. He gave you a goofy grin and you rolled your eyes.

“I told you that he would love it!” he said.

“You said the same for the other twenty toys. This is the first one he loved, you are lucky.” you said and he shook his head, giving you a kiss.

“I missed you today” he said and you started peppering kisses all over his face, his eyebrows, cheeks, forehead, eyes, chin.

“Did you miss me?” he asked, chuckling as he climbed on top of you. You pretended to think about it to tease him and he started tickling you, his fingers dancing on your belly.

“B-Bucky s-s-stop,” you said between laughs.

“I can’t hear you, baby. Did you just say that you missed me more?”

“Yes! I m-missed you! Please!”

“What? Am I the most good-looking guy ever? Woah, doll you are flattering me.”

“Bucky!” you said and he stopped tickling you, falling on your chest. You two cuddle until you calm down, finding peace in each other's embrace.

“I talked to Sam today .” Bucky interrupted the silence, his tone was serious.

“Was he alright?” you asked, afraid of something bad coming up.

“Yeah, he is fine. It’s just…” he took a deep breath. You settled in his lap, his arms around you, holding your hands in his.

“I talked to him about retiring,” he said.

“You never told me that you were thinking about retiring, Buck.” You cupped his cheeks with both of your hands and encouraged him to keep talking.

“I know, I don’t know why I didn’t tell you but I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I never want to leave, doll. I want to settle down. Get married, maybe have a kid or two. I know it’s hard for us to have a regular life, but I want to give it a try. With you, of course. If you say no, it’s okay.” he said, looking into your eyes.

“Bucky, of course I would like to give it a try. I love you.”

“I love you too, baby.” he gave you a few pecks on the lips.

“By the way, was that your proposal?” you giggled and Bucky blushed.

“I’d like to try again. Do it properly, if you let me.”he said, remembering the ring in the pocket of his coat.

“You already know the answer, Bucky.”

You weren’t always used to Bucky’s lavish lifestyle. He owned his own company, had been in business for longer than the two of you have known each other. You remembered the first time you two went on a date, he was holding your hand over the table in a dimly lit restaurant, asking you if you were sure. The lavish lifestyle overwhelmed you, but as you looked into Bucky’s ocean blue eyes you knew you were sure.

And since then he hasn’t been short of treating you perfectly. Sure, you two bickered here and there, but he always made it up to you with apologies and changed behaviors.

And your favorite flowers and some chocolates.

You were sitting at the dining room table typing away on your laptop, writing an essay for your final semester in school. You were incredibly stressed out, and didn’t know if you would be able to finish this essay.

You heard the front door open, boots being kicked to the side and heavy footsteps down the hallway into the kitchen where you were.

“Hey, doll. How’s the essay?” You ran a hand through your hair and looked up at Bucky who stood at the island, hands on the countertop and a sweet smile on his lips. You loved how involved he wanted to be with your academics, always making sure you knew he was there to help you with anything you needed. You appreciated the help, big time.

You closed the laptop lid slowly and sat back in the chair. Looking up at Bucky you shrugged, biting your lip before speaking.

“I’m so stressed out, Buck. I don’t know if I’ll finish this in time. Been working on it all weekend.” He frowned as he walked towards you, crouching to your waist level and set his hands on your knees, thumbs rubbing your clothed skin. He looked up at you, and smiled brightly.

“How about we go out tonight. There’s an auction my business is having, and I think it could get your mind off of things. What do you say?” You bit your lip as you watched Bucky speak. You knew you needed a break, you were going to rip your hair out if you kept going at the essay. You shrugged before you nodded slowly, smiling down at him. He brought your hand up to his lips and kissed the front side of your hand softly.

“Great, go and get changed, we can get there a bit early and I can introduce you to some of my co-workers and we can get drinks.”

You got changed, smoothing down your dress with your hands, looking over your figure and biting your lip nervously.

You had chosen a baby blue slip dress, thin straps sat against your shoulders, a deep v-neck exposing the cleavage that you had. The dress had two long slits on the side of the dress, reaching your mid thigh, showing a lot of skin. You thanked the weather for being warm, not needing to bring a coat, knowing that it would ruin the open back you had going on.

You placed the single diamond teardrop necklace on your neck, the one Bucky had given you on your first real dates the two of you had. You caressed it for a second, thinking about the memories it held. You went to reach for diamond stud earrings, already having your makeup done how you liked.

You never bothered to pick up the offers Bucky had for getting your makeup and hair professionally done. You liked doing it yourself, and to be honest you knew Bucky loved the way you made yourself look.

You stood back in the full length mirror, reaching for the black pumps and slipping them on, looking at your open back and to the front again, being at peace with how you looked. You were nervous, you bought this dress a few months ago and Bucky hadn’t seen you wear it yet. But you knew the second he saw you, he wouldn’t be able to keep his eyes or hands off you.

“You almost done there, doll?” Bucky called from the other side of the door coming from the living room. You let out a breath and smoothed your hands over your dress one more time before nodding to yourself and opening the door.

Bucky heard the clicks of your heels coming down the hallway, he was nervous to see how you looked but he knew you would be breathtaking.

And he was right.

The second he laid eyes on you, he wanted to rio that dress off and take you right there. The baby blue silk dress complimented your skin tone, hugged your curves in all the right places, and he noticed the diamond necklace he had given you.

“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” You chuckled as you walked up to him. He held you at an arm's length and looked you over before grabbing your hand and twirling you around to get the full effect. He pulled you close, hands on your exposed lower back, lips close to your ear.

“If we weren’t going out, I’d take you right now over the kitchen table.” His voice was low, making a shiver shoot right down your spine and to your core. The best part was that you knew he meant every single word he said to you.

You both left the house, a damp spot already forming but knowing Bucky, he wouldn’t touch you until far later in the night. You both walked up to the venue where the auction was being held, and you suddenly grew nervous. You hadn’t met any of his co-workers and you knew that their lifestyle was just like Bucky’s which made you more nervous that you wouldn’t fit in.

You gripped Bucky’s hand tightly, looking up at him with a slight fear in your eyes. He furrowed his eyebrows and squeezed your hand gently, just looking at you he knew you were nervous. He hoped to make tonight go smoothly for you, being right by your side the entire time. He bent down to your ear, hand sweeping the front of your stomach protectively.

“At any moment you want to leave, let me know.” You nodded your head as you bit your lip, closing your eyes for a second and taking in a breath. The second you opened your eyes you gave Bucky a reassuring smile, and you both walked all the way into the venue.

Immediately you heard people around you saying “Hey James!” and “Who’s the pretty lady with you?” to which Bucky tightened his grip on your waste, making you blush.

“This is my beautiful girl, y/n. She’s currently in University for a fine arts degree. Absolutely talented as anything.” The men and women he was talking to started up a conversation with you shortly about your degree. You answered their questions quickly and politely, feeling a blush stay on your cheeks the entire time that someone other than Bucky was that interested in something that you do for a living.

After a few rounds of meeting some more of his co-workers, he had told you he needed to do an announcement for the auction. Which meant he was going to be leaving you by yourself in the crowd of people. You held your hands in the middle of your body, playing with the rings you had decided to wear for this reason only.

He had led you along to the side of the stage where the auction was actually held and pressed a soft but quick kiss against your lips, making you blush madly.

“I will be right back, petal. Don’t move.” You nodded and watched as he walked up to where his CEO was who was also helping with the event and handed him a microphone.

You watched as he spoke with ease to the crowd, adjusted his suit jacket a few times and looked over at you simultaneously, a dashing smile adorned his lips each time. You watched as he spoke, the lights hitting his ocean blue eyes just the right way and how his voice sounded like honey over the speakers. You held a champagne glass in your hand that a waiter had given out while Bucky was talking, until your ears picked up on a few words before you fully listened to what he was saying.

“I’m here with my beautiful wife, y/n.” You choked on your champagne but not enough to make it known, as his hand gestures over to you and everyone was looking at you. You waved politely, cheeks redder than a tomato you were sure. Your eyes trained on Bucky as he blew you a kiss, and you pretended to catch it, laughing along with him when he continued to talk.

As he got off the stage, you pulled him aside away from most people, concern lacing his facial features.

“Everything okay, doll?” You nodded as you looked up at him, a toothy grin on your face.

“Wife, huh?” He blushed, not noticing he even said that. He nodded and scratched the back of his head awkwardly before looking down at you and gathering your face in his hands. He rubbed your cheekbones with his thumb gently.

“Yeah, want everyone to know you’re mine.” You kissed his palms before bringing him in for a kiss by his tie, pressing a hard kiss against his lips.
