Y'all remember that time Bella Swan and Peeta Mellark were brother and sister?

Holy shit it dawned on me
Fiona's spell wasn't limited to just ogre or human. The spell said "she'll take the form of her true love".
In canon, she falls in love with Shrek and stays an ogre. If she had fallen in love with a human, she would've stayed human.
If she had fallen in love with Puss, she would've turned into a cat. If she had fallen in love with Donkey, she would've turned into a donkey.
Consider the possibilities

This is something I've been planning to draw for a while but was too lazy to start but today I decided to finally force myself to do.
So during a rewatch of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, it occurred to me that the main trio from Shrek now all have love interests, so I wanted to draw them all together. Yes, I know I probably got the size comparisons of the characters wrong.
This was also my first time drawing Fiona and I'm super happy with how she turned out.
If Shrek 5 does happen then I can't wait for Kitty and Perrito to meet Shrek and the gang.

Not to be that person but I feel like sometimes Shrek being so memeable prevents people from seeing how truly revolutionary and radical the first two films really were. A children’s fairy tale that argues that no, ugliness does not mean bad and beautiful does not mean good. A fairy tale that argues that everyone deserves love, even those cast out of the margins of society. A fairy tale that dares to have a female protagonist not be conventionally attractive or helpless. A fairy tale that argues that love does not happen at first sight, but is grown through mutual respect and interest. That’s pretty fucking sick if you ask me

The trope where a character overhears something out of context and assumes the worst is usually annoying and bad but I really think it works well in Shrek
We, the audience, know that Fiona is talking about herself but, regardless, she’s calling herself these terrible things because she is an ogre. If Fiona is these things because she is is an ogre what does that make Shrek?
If Fiona says no one could love her because she is an ogre, she is saying that Shrek is also unloveable whether she wants to or not.
Imo the scene is a really good portrayal of how when you talk poorly of yourself or others for having a trait, you’re also talking about every other person who shares that trait; even if you love them or think what you’re saying doesn’t apply to them.

I cannot, do not, and will not ever understand people's hatred of the hunger games' epilogue.
Katniss choosing to have children is not out of character. Full stop. Peeta does not force Katniss to have children. Full stop.
Katniss repeats throughout the books that she never wants to have kids because she does not want to bring them into the horrible reality that she has experienced. She takes 15 years to heal from this trauma before she finally feels that the world is safe for her kids.
Katniss's choice to have children isn't out of character because she is not the same character as when we left her just after the war. She is not a scarred 17-year-old anymore.
And while Peeta is a driving force in the decision, she doesn't just have them for him. In the epilogue, Katniss literally talks about the joy of holding her daughter!!!! You can see that she has grown and changed opinions in the last 15 years (because of course she could over that period of time).
I will absolutely concede that the movie gutted it of so much depth, but in the book? It is hopeful and it is beautiful.

It's how the first thing Peeta does when he goes back to Twelve is plant primrose. Before he even goes to see Katniss. He thinks, hmm, let me plant flowers for her sister, because I think she would like that.
I think Haymitch underestimated, you could live a THOUSAND lifetimes and never deserve Peeta Mellark.
