I know I’ve been posting too much Clone Wars, but a whole bunch of new posters, banners, and screenshots just came out, including a first look at tomorrow’s big Hasbro action-figure and gentle giant reveals. More to come Saturday!!!

After six years, Star Wars The Clone Wars finally returns with a bang. No kiddy nonsense, no “subversion of expectations,” just pure unadulterated action. The first episode in this All-Killer-No-Filler arc is wildly anticipated Bad Batch.

image

After Captain Rex fears the separatists may have discovered his core mission tactics, Commander Cody calls in an old squad-team of his: Clone Force 99. Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, and Crosshair are the four members of this elite, seal-team 6 squad of genetically enhanced super soldiers. However, they are rough around the edges, and don’t follow orders with “regs.”

The animation for the fights scenes is really well done, especially since these arcs were staged back in 2013 (feel old yet?). Most of the scenes are similar, but a few have different lines or positioning. The lightning and attention to detail is amazing, and it brings back memories of how visually groundbreaking the series used to be!

The episode takes place on Anaxes, which was also featured on Star Wars Rebels. As you can see in the image above, a couple Frynoks are in the background behind Jesse, who is now an arc trooper. Kix has hair now, but for some reason you can still see his tattoos.

There is one aspect that this episode could’ve done better, and that’s the lack of music in some scenes. In the original swtcw animatics, each scene had a full soundtrack, but now most scenes, included the fight scenes, have little to no music. However, it doesn’t detract from the fact that the fight scenes are great.

In the end, the clones learn to fight as one unit, and together they discover the whereabouts of a long lost trooper. As the episode ends, the credits give proper homage to George Lucas. This episode was EXACTLY what fans needed to get back in gear with a new season. A thrilling 9/10, that could’ve used a bit more soundtracks in the background, but a worthy animation spectacle nonetheless.

Wow. 10,000 subscribers. It’s quite the milestone after 8 years of YouTube. To think, it all began with Ratchet and Clank. Then I created my own series “Battle Hamsters,” which didn’t get much attention. But one video – How Star Wars Rebels Should Have Ended – was the spark that started a brand new series of Star Wars animations!

I had probably 3 or 4,000 subscribers two years ago before starting Star Wars. And on May The 4th, I uploaded “How The Clone Wars Should Have Ended.” Little did we know back then, The Clone Wars will end this year, and thanks to all of your love and support, the future is looking bright for this channel.

I also want to thank Marcus from Silkie for giving me an opportunity to work for him editing vids on his channel, and teaching me how to excel at video editing. Without him, and without all 10,000 of you, I could never reach this goal!

So, what does the future hold for this channel after Clone Wars? Will Ratchet and Clank come back for the PS5? Will Star Wars Rebels get a space-whales sequel? Or will I try to do something completely new? Only time will tell. Thank you all :)

First, you make a YouTube and a Tumblr and probably a Reddit. THEN YOU GET FEATURED ON STAR WARS THEORY. THEN YOU START A SERIES THAT ARE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN I’LL EVER BE. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN’T DO.

Well, I don’t use Reddit, but I just really love Star Wars and Ratchet and Clank. And I am humbled that so many people love these animations based off of ideas that I have had for years (and I am so close hitting 10k)!

It’ll be a wild ride now that Clone Wars is coming back, and if Ratchet and Clank DOES come to the PS4 I will happily continue making videos for them :)
