It's Been Awhile

It's been 2 1/2 years since I've been on Tumblr, and I don't know why I keep leaving or why I will make a random appearance. Maybe it's just curiosity. Curiosity to see what is going on on this weird corner of the internet that I found in high school. It looks different yet the same every time.

So, I guess I will just give a bit of a life update.

I still live in my little redneck town, but I am trying to save to move. It's difficult though because everything is stupid expensive, but there is light at the end of that tunnel.

I am not a manager anymore. I burned out hard after non stop work, and because my boss was a bitch that micro managed every little thing.

I became an apprentice meat cutter. I'm the guy at your local supermarket that cuts your meat. It's kinda like a butcher, except we don't break down whole pigs or cows. I work a lot and I have to commute, but it's so nice not having to boss people around and having limited customer interaction. I just pop a headphone in and cut. And if there's down time after cutting, I get to watch tiktoks or YouTube until there's something to do. The pay could be better though.

I met my partner. He is amazing. He is finishing his bachelor's degree, and that's why I'm trying to save money so we can move in together. Currently, he lives roughly 3 hours away depending on traffic, so we only really see each other once a week, sometimes every other week, depending on my work schedule. We've been together for 2 years in May, and he makes me so warm and fuzzy inside.

Some of my tastes in things have changed. So, if I do stay on here awhile, some stuff I might reblog may include stuff about meat, bears (animal and man), pups (animal and man), and maybe furry related stuff ( I'm not 100% sure on that, but I've been going down a rabbit hole and have been getting more interested in it the farther I go).

My beard is so much thicker and a lot redder than I expected. Also, my regular hair had started to thin out so much that I just decided to shave my head for the most part.

A lot has happened in those couple years I've been gone, and I'm sure a lot more is to come.

Being up at 4-5 am is like loading in a level but the textures haven’t loaded all the way through yet.

It is except for working nearly every day. It would be nice to not have to work on my days off, but at least I'm nowhere near as stressed as I was at my other job.

Fun fact, I moved jobs back in August. And now I'm a manager and make $5 more an hour to do less. But I've also worked nearly every day this past month.

Honestly feel a little bad for leaving my crew. I've been trying to write up a mock guide for my PIC on how to do things in my absence but I don't think he realizes how impossible this job is with everything they want one man to do. I really liked the guy too.

Oh well. It's the company's fault not mine.

It's bad when basically the top members of your work crew hear about what happened and all get together to support you when work wants to demonize you

So, after putting in 4 applications in for 4 different positions at my old job, I get a call from the store director going, I need you to come in Friday. So that's a good sign. Seeing as this was the guy saying if I ever wanted my old job back just ask.

I'm just tired of all of it. Like this is all going on, my best friend is moving to Missouri. I'm half tempted to just sell everything and start over at this point. It's just not worth it anymore.

I’m indefinitely suspended from work all because I moved a shift by an hour. A FUCKING HOUR! So, now I’m really looking to leave this bullshit job. There’s a good fucking reason nobody wants to work in the service industry. We are treated like shit, and when I make an adjustment to help my department on a busy day without prior approval from some bullshit Know it all manager, I get punished. Oh and then get told I’m not listening to their advice on making my department run better, but they fail to hire to replace the 5 people that have left in the passed 2 months.

I need to go back to school and I need to leave this fucking town.
