I feel like... chocolate guy and Japanese knife dude would be symbolic foils of each other in some battle anime. One can make anything out of one material [chocolate] and the other can make one object [knife] out of any material.

Of course the series has an unexpected tonal shift in episode 10, eventually leading in episode 24 to knife dude having to kill chocolate guy, his former rival and bestie, because he fell to the dark side.

It's a solid 7.5/10 but the fans insist that it's 'so deep, you can't understand it' and 'the best thing ever after you get past episode 7 I swear' so annoyingly that most refuse to watch it out of principle.

4 years later it gets a low-budget gacha game where you roll for the various chocolate creations and knives with their respective anime girl gijinkas. It does okay for like a year before switching developers who run it into the ground instantly. Leaving the only legacy of the series as dudes bitching about its lost potential in various group chats.

My cat was bothering me so I grabbed her and started aggressively petting her (as you do), and when I started to baby-talk her, you know in that way where you aren’t really conscious of what you’re saying, my brain somehow conjured the phrase ‘cuddle-pilled hug-maxed’.

With the new Colombia event released in EN, I think it's a good time to share an observation about Arknights's portrayal of Colombia

The first time we hear about Colombia is Grani and the Knight's Treasure in the context of Big Bob's goal to get there. Him and his group of infected have no place or means to survive in the more 'established' countries seen in the main story. Colombia is branded as a place where the infected have an equal opportunity to everyone else. No social class system or cultural bias against the infected, a clean slate from all the baggage of the past.

If you played it at the time of release, you weren't yet wise to Arknight's 'everywhere is equally terrible just in different ways' gimmik, leaving the event with the impression propaganda of Colombia as a sanctuary in the hell world of Terra.

Then Mansfield Break and Dorothy's Vision drop and well...

Idk I just think it's neat how Arknights was able to perfectly emulate then subsequently shatter the propaganda of the 'American Dream' to fool the characters AND the player.
