First off, thanks for tagging me hun <3 second off, f*ck, I don't know five things I love about myself who do you think I am??? Someone with normal self esteem?? Anyway

1. I love my creativity I guess, I typically can find some way to make something from nothing if given the right motivation.

2. I suppose I love my capacity to love others. I try my best to always put more love and kindness into this world than hate.

3.(This is getting difficult now) Perhaps my resilience. It seems like everything in my life has tried to kill me and yet I still stand here today.

4. I love my gender identity. I love being non-binary even if no one else will. I'm proud of who I am and no one will take that from me. It's taken me 17 years, but I can finally say that

5.(uhhhhmmm) I do quite love the little habits I've picked up from my chosen family. Everytime I do something that I picked up from them, I am reminded of them and how much I love them

God damn….5 things I like about myself? That’s tough. 5 things I don’t like about myself is easy…but 5 things I like???😩

I like my eyes. Not so much the shape or size but the color. They’re a very vivid share of blue and stand out even more due to my pale skin.

I like my legs. I know this is starting to sound like some sort of vanity ramble about my looks but it’s not. Trust me. I have maintained (as best as I have been able to despite numerous setbacks in life) a regular exercise routine for almost 6 years now, and it has paid off. I notice that my legs look especially toned, and I tend to focus on them a little more during my workouts because I’m so happy with the results. By proxy, my butt is also decent, but I prefer my legs. They’re not incredible or anything but they’re lean. They have definition. They’re strong.

I have a great memory. It’s not a photographic one or anything, but I can remember a lot of crap for a long time while others just totally forget at the drop of a hat. It’s been very useful at most of my jobs, and sometimes, I remember shit that my peers or even managers couldn’t remember. If I see something and understand it, then I tend to remember it quickly without much trouble. I don’t know why my memory is so good, to be honest, but I’m not going to complain.

Sometimes it’s a pain in the ass, I won’t lie, but I am very detail-oriented. I notice things others don’t, ask questions a lot of others don’t think to ask, and analyze things to hell and back. When I wan to understand something, I want to UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. Don’t gloss over it. I need to know everything. It can be annoying but I think of thinks that my peers don’t bother to, find mistakes my superiors miss, and probably understand a lot of concepts better than most because I think A LOT.

If you don’t deserve it, you won’t get anything except a cold shoulder from me. Otherwise, I can be very patient and compassionate, especially when it comes to helping people. I know what it’s like to be torn down mentally and emotionally by someone’s words – someone who is supposed to love you, too – and how devastating it is to feel like you’re not good enough or that you can’t do anything right. So, I try to treat people with as much gentleness as I can if I’m helping them because I don’t want them to have to feel like absolute shit for no fucking reason. It’s not a good feeling, trust me, and if you don’t deserve it, then I’m not going to treat you poorly.

Phew…that wasn’t too bad. Luckily it’s not 10 things I like about myself or…I’d be grasping at straws 💦💦💦💦

When I was 16, I had a fake I.D. and decided to go to a gay bar by myself because some friends bailed on me. While there, an older gentleman bought me a drink. He wasn’t a creeper, and he definitely wasn’t unattractive. I accepted the drink and began talking to him. No big deal. As the hour progressed, I felt myself feeling strange. I mentioned that I felt like I had a headache, and this guy helped guide me out of the bar. As we were walking down the street, the thought of, ‘Oh god, he’s drugged me, I’m going to die’ came to my head. I tried to get away, but I was so drugged up that I could barely walk, let alone speak. It also didn’t help that I had really large ‘goth’ platform shoes because I was going through a phase. Anyway, this guy brought me to his suv and began undressing me. As a final act of defiance, I hit him over the head with my platform shoe. He then punched me, and I remember thinking, ‘Why don’t they ever give workshops to gay guys about being victims of rape too?’ While I was as careful as possible, I never saw the guy slip something in the drink. I even watched the bar tender make the drink. Anyway, I lied there completely paralyzed while this pervert was lubing up. I locked eyes with his for a moment, and that’s when it happened. A very large and angry drag queen opened the door of the vehicle and beat the shit out of my attempted rapist. She and her other drag friends helped dress and care for me while the police arrived. I was saved by a group of guardian drag queens. They were basically the modern day ‘angels from heaven.’
