I'm a little late to this so some of the screenings have already passed, but there's a new documentary out about the Bad River Band's struggle for sovereignty, leading up to their current lawsuit against the gas pipeline company Enbridge. The film is showing at select theaters until March 28th, and 50% of ticket profits will be donated to the Bad River Band (you can also donate directly, details here):

“Something beyond language. I get frustrated this way so often. A photograph can say “This is what it was.” Language can only say “This is what it was like.””

She apologized for not being able to leave the house and, pointing to the balcony, said:
"He's my only friend."
I indicated the piano and asked:
"How about this sweet soul? Isn't he your friend, too?"
– Felisberto Hernández, from “The Balcony,” Piano Stories (Eridanos, 1993)

love hides in questions, you cannot ask a thing without giving yourself away. how was your day? (i hope it was good) when can i see you again? (i pray it's soon) do you feel safe with me? (i feel safe with you) what is your favorite color? (i wish to enrobe you in all that makes you smile)

Another contender for my favorite Georgy Ivanov poem. I do not ask for love! I do not sing of spring!

Since Wael El Dahdouh, Motaz Azaiza, Plestia Al Aqad have all left Ghazzah in a brain drain, and the ongoing killing of 100+ Palestinian journalists, I want to link all the Palestinian journalists still on the ground documenting. The number is shrinking but they're still there.
Wissam Nasser. Hatem H. Rawagh.
Heba Akkila. Belal Khaled.
translating_gaza (while they're not journalists, they translate what journalists who only post in Arabic have to say)
Hind Khoudary. Bisan Ouda.
Maram Humaid. Amr Tabash.
Doaa Khaled. Dahman Eyad.
Kanaan A. Owda. Nour Arfa.
Ahmed Hijazi. Bayan Abusultan.
Suhail Nassar. Motasem Mortaja.
Ali Obaid. Majdi Fathi.
Hafez M. Abu Samra (Arabic only).
Hala BenAsfour (Arabic only).
Anas Jamal (Arabic only).
Awny Abu Hasira (Arabic only).
Amer Sultan (Arabic only).
Abd Elrahman Al Shareef (Arabic only).
Mahmoud Abu Ajjour (Arabic only).
If you care about the situation on the ground, go follow them. It's a situation of genocide, I advise you to think about whether you have the energy and mental space to handle it when you open your Instagram.
