Ramón found himself walking into an empty and cool diner. Half dark, only lit by the row of clean red booths to his right. He took off his jacket, listening to the soft patter of the rain behind him- he felt safe.

He walked down the glowing row, looking at the empty white coffee mug set in the fifth booth. An invitation? Looking around, he nodded and accepted, setting down his jacket first.

Sitting down, Ramón noticed the white mug had been filled with fresh coffee with a gentle swirl of milk appearing in the dark liquid before him. Across from Ramón, hands formed around another warm mug. His brother's hands. He felt his heart pound against his chest and stared at those hands, afraid to blink the familiar sight away too fast.

"That was a beautiful car, stupid." he heard a friendly chuckle. Ramón finally looked up and met his brother's brown eyes. Kind and full of life.

Ramón smiled, it was his first real smile since- yeah. A wave of relief hit Ramón all at once, inviting a strange roll of emotions into his chest that warmed his heart nevertheless. "I let myself get carried away, didn't I?" he laughed.

All around the two, the diner lit up as they chattered softly. And they laughed like they were rightfully out of the world's reach.

a little valentine’s day short ft. sarah and ruth

Over the last few days, Sarah has heard a great deal about this “Valentine’s Day.” Pink decorations have been strewn up over door frames; hearts have been tapped in windows. She’s seen pink bags of candy for sale in the stores around town. The florist has been advertising roses for sale for two weeks leading up to the day. 

All this time, she doesn’t know what to do for Ruth. She feels like she should, because she loves Ruth, but this holiday is so new to her, she doesn’t even know where to begin. Chuck and Auggie have talked–separately to the group–about what they plan on doing for each other. 

When she asks Chuck, he suggests something pink, Ruth likes that, and it only serves to distress Sarah further. Everything is pink. What out of all that is she supposed to pick out for Ruth?

Stella is a bit more helpful. They go to the florist after school the day before and Stella helps her pick out a pink rose for Ruth. It’s pink and it’s a flower. “She likes flowers,” Stella says, and it’s perfect. They buy the rose and Sarah keeps it in a small vase until she meets Ruth at her house the next day.

Hey, as my writing/edits sit and boil in hell, I'm gonna throw this out to everyone:

we often like to visit the What Are The Boys Doing In The Void hc in which Chuck and Auggie find each other after getting yeeted by the book, bump into Tommy and the three fight/argue/whatever for what seems like eternity, right? Literally just these three going off on each other. chaos. Sometimes we'll throw the boys meeting the Bellows in the void and have them scrap a bit, go off, etc.

Right, but uh... because I'm a thot for angst: Auggie getting thrown into the void and just wandering around this dark place alone for hours, days, weeks... you know, forever.

Then he hears something. In the distance. It's a small buzz, but it's the only other sound Auggie's heard in the emptiness since his arrival- so it's quite hard to ignore.

He can't tell whether it's a voice or... music? the engine of a car? a radio maybe?

Auggie walks towards it, but the sound slowly seems to shift all around him and he just can't seem to get close enough to even try to figure out what it is- but it feels like a call to him. He knows this, it tugs at his heart. His legs just naturally carry him wherever this sound moves.

Frustrated, Auggie sits down, hands on his head. Trying to make sense of where he is- cause he's not fuckin dead, or atleast his mind hasn't been quiet enough to think it through since he got here- wherever this is. He feels his throat tighten when he thinks about those hands wrapping around his ankles, where his friends might be.... Who are they anyway? Auggie can barely remember his mother's face, but she's somehow all he sees in this darkness.

Lord knows how much time has passed when Auggie wakes up, never realizing he even fell asleep. The first thing he hears is that noise again- no, that voice. It's louder and much more clear now! Auggie scrambles to his feet, ready to chase it down. He listens for it again.

Laughter this time. He knows this laugh.

Chuck.

The name sticks to his head. It repeats, rolls around and echoes all inside him. Chuck. Chuck. Chuck.

Auggie knows Chuck.

Walking towards the boy's voice, now mumbling over something Auggie still can't quite understand, he picks up his speed. Auggie runs towards Chuck's voice and even attempts to try out the name, "Chuck?" he croaks, his jaw hurts already. No response.

But he tries it again and again anyway. Auggie walks around, endlessly following bits of Chuck's voice. However, he's never close enough.

Same with Chuck when he gets there. They're never able to hear each other just right and they never meet. Just two boys lost, following a voice, a name they hardly remember, but they just know it's tied to them.

And it fucking hurts the two of them so much.

oh em gee how long has this been in my inbox- why is tumblr like this wtf, but akskajkakshab yes I’m so excited. Amelia showed us this the other day and all I did was scream first thing in the morning (would not recommend, pls drink some water and eat before screaming your lungs out) 😊 we get to see more of the gremlins and we get to see Ruth and Stella getmting shit done 😌 we stan. ALSO 🔫 they better fuckin figure out how Ramón will get back… I wanna see more of him 🔫 or else. And yeah yeah its in the early stages of development which means anything from complete cancellation to a whole new cast could happen but aaaaahh this is a bit of hope that i WILL be clinging onto for months until further news
