with some bugs it really does feel less like the larval stage is the ‘baby’ stage and more like its the ‘normal’ stage and the bug’s final form is just their extra special final form they use to fuck

1 am thinking abt the triassic cuddle once again and getting sad. The Thrinaxodon was in a torpor and wouldn’t have woken up before it drowned in the rain. The Broomistega was badly injured and dying. Neither of them ever actually knew each other but their last moments are curled up together and immortalized in stone Hggggm

One time, the Queen of England decided to knight a loyal member of her country who happened to be Jewish.
This man knew that knights were supposed to say something in Latin as the Queen knighted them, but didn’t remember the line, so he quickly said “ma nishtana halaila hazeh micol haleilot”
This, of course, confused the Queen, who turned to her advisor and asked “Why is this knight different from all other knights?”

This is completely nuts and absolutely mandatory. “Cementimental - Untitled Harsh Noise Graphic Novel”. Surrealist book-object; harsh noise album in paperback form. 300 pages of pixel-noisescapes, created soley using the antique mac paint app LightningPaint. How can I not get this gem.

its kind of weird to me how rare cannibalism seems to be cross culturally. its free meat! meat is often pretty hard to come by, esp in agricultural societies! i wonder if you saw it popping up in early agricultural societies and then they got prion disease and developed a taboo. theres that thing about how cannibalism-protective genes are scattered around the population, so maybe it used to be much more common...

As it is Passover again, it is time for the annual debate as to whether the frog plague, which thanks to a quirk in the Hebrew, is written as a plague of frog, singular, rather than the plural, plague of frogs, was in fact, as generally imagined, a plague of many frogs, or instead a singular giant Kaiju frog. This is an ancient and venerable argument that actually goes back to the Talmud because this is what the Jewish people are. If we can't argue for fun about this sort of thing, what are we even doing.
In that spirit, I would like to submit a third possibility, which is that in fact it was one perfectly normal sized frog, who was absolutely acing Untitled Frog Game: Ancient Egypt Edition. One particularly obnoxious frog, who through sheer hard work, managed to plague all of Egypt.

they should have the time signature awards where it's awarded to the best song in every time signature produced that year. so obviously a lot of stiff contention for the 4/4, but i think there's probably enough songs to fill out nominations for 3/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/8, 9/8, and 'alright calm down' time signatures.
