The Bangtan Gal Masterlist

Author's Note: Hey! I wrote this story back in 2016 on some fanfic websites and am bringing it back as I edit the chapters. I wanted to put my perspective and imagination on what if BTS had a black girl in their group from America. This'll be a long story starting from their debut so enjoy the ride!

I have so many chapters already written. I had stopped in the story around late 2016 before the MAMA Awards. As I wrote this story over the years I wanted this character to be relatable and grow as a performer as well as go through hardships. It'll be a slow start but it will get better as the chapters go on, I hope you give it a chance.

This will mainly start with friendship. Not just the character and the love interest. I didn't want to rush things and I tried my best to add a lot of bonding and cute moments. This is a SLOW BURN with my OC and Jungkook. The two will not become a couple until 2016.

10-14: A preacher and a tracklayer stand at a street corner, chatting about the lack of weather.

15-19: A tracklayer walks down the street with a pushchair, laughing at her infant’s babbling.

20-24: The most recent Hour of Dance lasted all night. Limbs are still sore, but there is a sense of solidarity in the city.

25-29: The Burrow-Church is bright and looming.

30-33: A ginger tom slinks into a nearby alley.

34-37: Urchins run through the street, flicking pigments at one another. Their graffiti is left half-complete on a high wall.

38-41: A mechanical failure: this street’s red night lamps haven’t turned off. The buildings are illuminated in a sleepy orange-pink.

62-64: Yet another frieze is carefully carried up to the Burrow-Church. Theology, it seems, is an active process.

65-67: A young bohemian reads poetry on a street corner. The imagery is beautiful, but his delivery could use work.

68-70: An effort is made to align phonograph music with the earthen drum beats. ‘Close enough’ is achieved, and a small dance floor forms on the street corner.

71-73: A tracklayer’s hanging garden falls as he tends it. Porcelain, roses and soil scatter over the cobbles.

74-76: A fire breaks out – the accompanying screams are only of tourists.

77: There are no door knockers in Pilgrim’s Dawn.

78-79: A Starved Man lumbers through the streets. Dancers swerve to avoid him, snatches of suspicion visible from within their pirouettes.

80-81: ‘The Bun: A hairstyle for the working man!’ a poster proclaims.

82-83: A green-eyed devil sighs as he watches a couple dance. One tries to spin away from her partner but stumbles – she falls into his arms, laughing.

84-85: A pair of Clay Men tango slowly in a crowd; their quavers are the others’ semibreves.

86-87: A rat lingers by a carving of your face. It scratches its back using your nose.

88-89: A rose-scholar looks over a balcony at the dancers below, jots down notes of their movements.

90: Morning prayers: north, east, south, up, down.

91: The sound of the sea – not the zee, the real thing – seems to emanate from the south.

92: A young deacon tries to explain what a ‘Judgement’ is to a curious Clay Man. It’s clear that she doesn't entirely understand the concept herself.

93: A fox? No, just your imagination.

94: ‘My daughter!’ cries a tracklayer, eyes wild and regretful. ‘No, I—’ And then he snaps back to himself.

95: An Infernal Tourist protests – the Rose Giveth Its Verses to Devils – but the tracklayers dance on, heedless.

96: A black, shuttered palanquin is borne through the streets by two weathered Clay Men. There are whispers – surely not the Empress? … Another royal? – but nobody impedes their progress.

97: A dolorous devil stalks the streets. He tries to keep to the sparse shadows and startles at dancers of the Terpsichore.

98: Trumpets at the gates; a regiment of devils pass through on their way to the Burrow-Church.

99: A bulky figure in a glittering cloak sweeps through the streets. Insults are hurled in its wake.

100: The ever-present drumming has a lazy, contented quality to it today. Is the Drummer… happy?

Like you're not filming that. You gotta just say that. Or you gotta find another way to do it through visual storytelling, like during a 2D scene or something. Transiting Sun enters Sagittarius

Wednesday, November 22 - Friday, December 22, 2023

This has always been one of my favorite times of the year. I love the lights, the good cheer, the hot chocolate, the buying or making presents, all of it. I love the feeling of the old year coming to a close (great memories!), and the anticipation of what the coming year could bring.

It’s just going to be a little more challenging to enjoy it, this time. The Sun makes few “flowing” aspects (sextiles and trines) during its 2023 trip through Sagittarius. We’re all going to be prone to the less positive Sagittarian traits. Jumping to conclusions, oversimplification, commitment-phobia, excess, insisting that one’s own traditions are the only valid traditions.

Maybe you can’t decide which holiday party to go to, and your refusal to commit results in you sitting home, alone. Maybe you’re determined to have a lavish holiday, and you overspend. You could quarrel with someone over when to open gifts. (A teenaged Ms M was horrified to learn that not every family opens presents on Christmas morning.)

What can we do? Keep in mind that this Sag season brings challenges, and rise to the occasions. Work hard to avoid materialism and competitiveness. Cut everybody a ton of slack, including yourself, during this especially stressful time of year. The whole point of Sagittarius is to be resilient and tolerant and wise - and the best way to develop those traits is to get experienced.

Give all these aspects a day or so on either side.

Orthodox priest and teacher Fr. Thomas Hopko, who passed away eight years ago this week, wrote many wonderful things in his life. One favorite is this list of 55 Maxims for Christian Living. They're applicable, I think, to non-Orthodox Christians and, many of them, to non-Christians too

Here they are:

1. Be always with Christ.

2. Pray as you can, not as you want.

3. Have a keepable rule of prayer that you do by discipline.

4. Say the Lord’s Prayer several times a day.

5. Have a short prayer that you constantly repeat when your mind is not occupied with other things.

6. Make some prostrations when you pray.

7. Eat good foods in moderation.

8. Keep the Church’s fasting rules.

9. Spend some time in silence every day.

10. Do acts of mercy in secret.

11. Go to liturgical services regularly

12. Go to confession and communion regularly.

13. Do not engage intrusive thoughts and feelings. Cut them off at the start.

14. Reveal all your thoughts and feelings regularly to a trusted person.

15. Read the scriptures regularly.

16. Read good books a little at a time.

17. Cultivate communion with the saints.

18. Be an ordinary person.

19. Be polite with everyone.

20. Maintain cleanliness and order in your home.

21. Have a healthy, wholesome hobby.

22. Exercise regularly.

23. Live a day, and a part of a day, at a time.

24. Be totally honest, first of all, with yourself.

25. Be faithful in little things.

26. Do your work, and then forget it.

27. Do the most difficult and painful things first.

28. Face reality.

29. Be grateful in all things.

30. Be cheefull.

31. Be simple, hidden, quiet and small.

32. Never bring attention to yourself.

33. Listen when people talk to you.

34. Be awake and be attentive.

35. Think and talk about things no more than necessary.

36. When we speak, speak simply, clearly, firmly and directly.

37. Flee imagination, analysis, figuring things out.

38. Flee carnal, sexual things at their first appearance.

39. Don’t complain, mumble, murmur or whine.

40. Don’t compare yourself with anyone.

41. Don’t seek or expect praise or pity from anyone.

42. We don’t judge anyone for anything.

43. Don’t try to convince anyone of anything.

44. Don’t defend or justify yourself.

45. Be defined and bound by God alone.

46. Accept criticism gratefully but test it critically.

47. Give advice to others only when asked or obligated to do so.

48. Do nothing for anyone that they can and should do for themselves.

49. Have a daily schedule of activities, avoiding whim and caprice.

50. Be merciful with yourself and with others.

51. Have no expectations except to be fiercely tempted to your last breath.

52. Focus exclusively on God and light, not on sin and darkness.

53. Endure the trial of yourself and your own faults and sins peacefully, serenely, because you know that God’s mercy is greater than your wretchedness.

54. When we fall, get up immediately and start over.

55. Get help when you need it, without fear and without shame.

Imagine his surprise when Beatrice let him know that the blanket was actually folded and they could lie down and cover themselves with it? The weather got a bit colder but neither of them planned on leaving yet, they were just looking up at the night sky, her head on his shoulder and his hand brushing up and down her bare back, his middle finger following the line of her spine slowly.

Their clothes were safe from sand since they were all in the basket, so they didn’t have to worry too much about those things right now. He blinked when her voice quietly called his name, turning to face her only to see her gentle smile and red cheeks, “Are you okay?”

His eyes soften as his hand continues it’s up and down trailing, “I am. Are you?” she nods with her cheek still resting on the curve of his broad shoulder, cheeks flexing the more she smiled, “You really overdid yourself.”

“Thank you.”

“You are welcome,” he taps the tip of her nose when he says that, watching as she scrunched it up with a giggle, “Your ideas are always welcome, you know that.”

Beatrice hummed happily, nuzzling his skin and curling more against his body under the blanket, now the cold finally touched her body like cold needles piercing her skin, “I’ll remember that.”

“Do you want to go home?”

She just nuzzled him even more, “Not yet, we have a little bit of time before leaving.” she whispered, “Let’s just…enjoy this.”

Bradley smiles down at her, kissing the top of her head and sighing when his head falls back on the dark blanket, he could feel the sand moving under his head’s weight but nothing touched his body or hers for that matter.

It was probably the most romantic they’ve been if he had to admit, after all…when was the last time he made love under the stars? The answer would be never. “You know,” he begins, “I was thinking about this for a while.”

“Hm?”

“Outdoor stuff.” he mutters, still caressing her back, “I was thinking of doing this while we camp or something, now that I know you like stuff like this,I think we should enjoy the possibilities.”

Beatrice lifts her head from his shoulder to have a better look,holding herself up by folding her arms on the blanket, “We did plan on hiking and going camping.” he nods, “...well…should we keep the idea for the near future?”

He just chuckles, rubbing her chin with his thumb, brushing it over her lower lip, “I think so…fuck you are so beautiful.”

Beatrice smiles more, her eyes doing an almost perfect half moon shape when he says that, even if she was no longer sweating there was a beautiful sheen that made her look like she was covered in glitter. She kissed the pad of his thumb when he used it to brush over her mouth, leaning into his palm when he touched her cheek, “You are still planning on making me blush,huh?”

“Always,gorgeous.” he says, “There’s no better feeling.”

She laughs quietly, dropping back down against his shoulder, drawing random shapes on his chest as she inhales the mix of cologne and sex clinging to his skin, “You know.” he hums, signaling he was paying attention, “I never shared stuff like this with anyone…well,maybe Shells sometimes but…I don’t know,I felt weird saying it.”

“Because you felt people would judge you?”

“Yeah.” she whispers, “As you know I’m not…experienced. So most of the things I know I saw in movies or books…or fics online, so when this idea popped up I just kept it hidden deep inside of me…but you help me deal with those thoughts.” he gave her a knowing smirk, one that made Beatrice scoff, “Not like that. I mean you make me feel safe sharing them with you.”

If there was one compliment he was never tired of hearing was how Bea felt safe around him. “You know, I feel the same about you,gorgeous.” he kisses her forehead, “Because there are things I never shared with anyone either…I guess I wasn’t comfortable just as you were.”

Beatrice smiles again, leaning down to kiss him only for her phone to buzz. She sighs into his mouth, pushing herself upwards with an apologetic smile, “I think that’s our cue to leave.”

“Yeah,I guess so,” he grunts, pushing himself to a sitting position as she leans forward to grab her phone, blowing some grains of sand that stuck to the TMNT phone case before checking the messages, “I’ll get our clothes.” he says, rolling on his stomach and stretching his arm enough for it to reach the handle of the basket, pulling it towards him so he could grab the balled up clothes inside.

He carefully placed her dress first next to her, then grabbed his own pants and underwear, followed by his shirt, “My mom said Nicole is watching tv.”

“Yeah? What sort of kid shows are on this time of night?”

“Oh,none.” she smiles, “She is watching some Disney Classics, like Robin Hood.” Beatrice places the phone aside to grab her dress, quickly slipping it over her shoulders and down her arms, before she rummaged in the basket and pulled out a small black bag that he was sure only contained their napkins…but he shouldn’t be surprised when she pulled out a pair of panties from inside.

“So you had everything planned.”

Beatrice giggles, standing to her feet to put on the red panties, letting the elastic snap against her hips, wriggling a bit to get it snug against her ass, “I did.” she says, “I had to. I wasn’t going to my parents’ house completely commando.”

He laughs, putting on his underwear and pants, “Fair.” he stands up to put on his shirt, running his hand through his hair as it passes through the collar, “That’d be strange.”

“You’d love it.”

“I would love it.” he agrees with a smirk, “But the situation…wouldn’t be the best.”

They shared another laugh as they cleaned everything up, making sure to leave absolutely nothing in the sand as they left - Bea even turned on her flashlight to check if there were any trash left behind, picking up even pieces of paper that weren’t theirs - before they made their way to the car.

As she placed the basket in the passenger seat, she slapped her forehead, “Oh no! The dessert!” she hurriedly opened to check, the squeak of a styrofoam box opening making him look her way and stop walking to the driver’s door, “Oh…oh it’s okay, oh thank goodness.” he stepped behind her to see what it was seeing that Beatrice was almost crouched with relief.

“...is that…” he blinks, “Mr.Scoops’ logo?”

“Yeah.”

“You got us ice cream?”

“It’s not ice cream.” she begins, “It’s an ice cream cake with hazelnut brittle and belgian chocolate. Thank God it’s still intact.” and he muttered ‘that’s just ice cream.’ as Beatrice slowly turned around to give him a playful glare, “Keep doing that and you won’t get a piece.”

“What? Hey,come on.”

Beatrice giggles, his pout happens so naturally she wasn’t even sure if he was aware of it. She wraps her arms around his neck, meeting that pretty pout of his with her lips and smiling against his mouth, “I’m not that evil.” she whispers, “Now come on, we have to go before my parents set out a search party for us.”

Bradley kisses her one more time, taps her ass and then they enter the car, making their way over to the Schiavonis to pick Nicole up.

After they got Nikki they slept like a rock, there was no need to stay awake since it was also past their daughter’s bedtime. They were so tired that the night went by a flash, with Rooster waking her up with kisses to her neck and shoulders, making Beatrice smile with her cheeks flushed red, “Morning,gorgeous.”

“Mmmm,it is.” she giggles, rolling around to see his face, “How did you sleep?”

“Great.” he says, “Even better because I can still smell the ocean air on your skin.”

She just smiles more, cupping his face with her hands to kiss his lips repeatedly,”Can you check on Nikki? I’m going to prepare our breakfast.” She,amazingly,manages to get out of the bed without Rooster trapping her with his arms. He just smirks at her, following the sway of her hips as she walks to the bathroom, fixing the underside of her panties much for his absolute adoration, “What are we having for breakfast?”

“I don’t know,” she says from the bathroom,”What do you want?”

“I can make us some pancakes.” he shrugs even though she couldn’t see it, “To celebrate.”

Beatrice just laughs again, peeking her head out of the bathroom, “You drive a hard bargain, but I wouldn’t mind.”

Rooster pushes himself off the bed,kicking the covers and running his hands through his hair to calm the sandy brown strands down, then walks into the bathroom to hug her from behind and kiss her cheek repeatedly, “Just because I can’t get enough of you.” one final peck to finalize his words and he steps away towards Nicole’s room.

He feels amazing, if there was any way to describe how he was feeling was ‘stepping on clouds’. He stretches his arms above his head, smiling when the joints popped, sighing in pleasure and pain when he feels the scratches from Beatrice’s nails sting as he lifts his arms, “Battle scars.” he tells himself, walking into Nicole’s nursery to see his daughter was sitting up.

“Oh my God! Hi pretty!” Nicole smiles at him, gurgling a laugh, “Hi! You are sitting on your own? Oh my Gosh,I didn’t even think that was possible yet?” she was four years old though,he remembered, there was a chance she’d do this according to some books he read. Eleanor and Jack both climbed out from under the crib to stretch themselves, standing besides Rooster as he picks Nicole up, “Hi baby,hi,” he kisses his daughter’s cheek, then playfully sniffs her neck, making her laugh even more, “Come on,let’s get cleaned up to have breakfast! Are you excited?”

Nicole lets out a shriek-like laugh while shaking her closed fists, cheeks turning rosy and green eyes appearing blue because of the morning light peeking through the curtains. He was humming all the way he was changing her, his humor was so good he knew there wasn’t anything that would put it down, “There you go.” he smiles, kissing her cheek one more time, “All clean and ready for the day,Birdie.”

She smiles that gummy grin that had such a hold on his heart it made him weak. Beatrice was already downstairs, he could hear her messing around with something in the kitchen, “Oh,mommy is up, let’s go greet her, yeah?” Nicole babbled back,almost as if she said ‘yes’, before hugging his neck to put her head on his shoulder.

“My favorite girls in the same room,” he says once he gets close to Beatrice, “Aren’t I just so lucky?”

His wife smiled,kissing his lips and then picking Nicole from his arms, “You are very lucky…coffee is done, by the way.” she nods to the coffee maker, “And I’m going to feed Nikki over there, okay?”

“Sure gorgeous.”

Beatrice looked down at her daughter who was already looking up at her, cheeks red like little cherries and eyes bright, “Hi,Nikki,yeah we are going to have breakfast!”. Beatrice’s phone was face down on the table, knowing no one was going to message her this early in the morning but having it close was good in case someone did.

Aka Shells. Who loved calling her even before she was even half awake.

“What’s the plan today?” he asks, grabbing a few pots and pans from the cabinets, “You going to be at the bar later?”

“Yeah,I’ll help Penny and Shells clean it.” she says, adjusting Nicole in her arms so her daughter could have her breakfast comfortably, brushing her thumb on the side of her face, “Penny is considering hiring someone else.”

“Wait,really?”

“Mhm, at least for the days me and Shells aren’t able to go. Jimmy is fun but he can’t really come every time…so we might help around the new person, just so they know what to do.”

The sizzle of the fresh pancake batter on the pan, followed by his humming was the answer she got. She looked up at him with a smile, “Smells good.”

“Course it does.” he smirks, “Bradshaw Pancakes,gorgeous. The best you’d ever have.” and it was incredible how hearing that again after the time they’ve been together felt so cathartic. When he first cooked her the pancakes they were just a few months into the relationship, never she’d imagine they’d keep the tradition…and now with a baby.

“What about you? What are your plans for today?”

He sighs, tapping the side of the spatula on the edge of the pan as he thinks, creating a little rhythm, “Sleep again, maybe.” he mumbles, “I really,really missed our bed.”

Beatrice laughs, tilting her head to the side in an almost ‘fair’ gesture, looking down at Nicole and gently holding her hand, “No gym today then?”

“Nope.” he chuckles, “I think I worked out enough last night.”

Beatrice gasps, covering Nicole’s ear with her brows furrowing, “Rooster!” he just gives her an innocent look and a shrug, but the obvious boyish grin on his face only makes it obvious he didn’t really worried too much, “...well, I’d want you to rest too, you just got home and…well,there are things to do. Halloween is in a few days! And the neighborhood has a lot of kids! So I need to go treat shopping.”

Beatrice rambled and he just watched her while flipping the pancakes, plating the ones already done - he knew she liked hers a bit more golden with a bit of crisp on the sides - and setting it in front of her, kissing her head, “Good idea,honey.”

It didn’t take long for him to join his girls on the table, sometimes ripping a piece of the fluffy pancake and tossing it to Jack who’d catch it in midair and sit back down hoping to get something else. Rooster then groans, rubbing his eyes, “Fuck…just remembered.”

‘What?”

He inhales tiredly,”I promised Mav I’d help him with his bike. It’s sputtering and coughing like an old man from the 1800’s.” he leans back on his seat, rubbing his eyes, “And I know if I don’t show up he’s going to come here and drag me out.”

Beatrice slowly chews her pancake, Rooster reaching for Nicole once she was done eating, gently patting her back so she’d burp, “It’s been a while since you saw him too.”

“I know.” he says, the gentle ‘thudding’ from his hand on Nicole’s back and his daughter’s quiet babbling added to the conversation, “And I promised him. I can’t back out.”

Beatrice holds her chin up with a hand,looking from him to Nicole, then back at him, “Why don’t you take Nikki?” she asks, seeing his brows furrow, “It’s been so long since Mav saw her too. You can take her there and set her on a safe spot.” she immediately added when his face scrunched into a worried frown, “It’s not like it’ll be that bad,right?”

“...I guess.” but he didn’t seem thrilled, “But I feel like Mav will leave me to work on the bike so he could ‘focus on Nikki’.” he air quoted with the hand burping Nicole, looking back when his daughter finally let it out, thankful for the fabric on his shoulder, “And you know how he is.”

His wife grinned, still holding her chin up, “I do…and I also know you. I know you’d want Nikki to experience different things, Roos…plus, she loves spending time with you, don’t you, honey?” Nicole lifts her head to gurgle a laugh, Beatrice cleans her face with the cloth on Bradley’s shoulder, “It’ll be fun!”

Bradley hums, lips pouting as he sinks a bit into his chair, “I’ll…think about it.”

“Plus…well,maybe there’ll be similarities that Mav will comment about.” he gives her a confused look, “Compare Nicole and you when you were a baby.”

“Oh no.”

“It’ll be really cute.”

“No,no. I’d rather step on glass.” she gives him an amused look, “Listen,I was a dumb kid…okay? I don’t want Nikki to get ideas.”

“She’s four months old,Brad!”

“So?” He holds Nicole tighter against him, “I’ve read that sometimes kids can mirror parents’ activities when they are older…I don’t want Nicole to climb trees and jump from the highest branch!” Beatrice widens her eyes at him with her mouth opening in surprise, “...it happened once.”

Beatrice shakes her head, standing up from the table to grab their empty plates - and the cloth from Bradley’s shoulder- to put everything in the sink, “You don’t have to worry about that because it’s very possible she won’t remember anything bad that Mav has to say about you.” she says, air quoting just like he did, “I think it’ll be fun…come on Roos. Nicole is old enough to learn things-”

“That reminds me, we need to buy those mind toys we saw online, they are very-” Beatrice crosses her arms and smiles, arching her brow at him, “I’m not trying to avoid the subject.”

“Really…then you won’t mind me telling Mav you’ll be taking Nikki with you.”

“There’s no need for that.”

Bea hums, “Right…then maybe we should ask Nikki.” Nicole looks up at her when she hears her name, smiling at her mother, “What do you think Nikki, do you wanna see grandpa Mav?” Nicole smiles more, eyes crinkling and her little hands moving excitedly, “Yeah! You love grandpa Mav, don’t you? And you miss him a lot!” her husband groans, throwing an ugly look over the shoulder towards her.

“That’s cheating.”

“It’s not.” she says, stepping closer to kiss Nicole’s forehead, “You know what’s going to happen? You two will have loads of fun!...Roos, these things will be important to Nicole, she won’t remember them but she’ll have the feeling inside.”

Rooster frowns, running his fingers over his mustache. It’s not like he didn’t like the idea, but…there were a lot of things there, what if she touches something? What if something just gets loose? What if she finds what a wrench is? What if she somehow presses a button? He looks down at Nikki only to see her head tilted towards him, her soft cheek on his shoulder and the precious little smile on her face…

Oh,he was so doomer.

“I swear,green eyed brunettes are my ruin.” he chuckles, sighing heavily, “Ugh…fine. I’m going to take her but Mav better not use her as an excuse to leave me there. You hear me,little missy?” he wags his finger to Nicole’s face, watching her eyes cross as she keeps it within her vision, “Your cute looks might be genetic but don’t use those pretty eyes on Mav. He won’t be carrying you all the time.”

Beatrice smiles from behind them, leaning down to kiss his cheek, “You are an amazing husband.” another kiss, “And an amazing dad…you’ll do great.”

“Thanks babe…” he smiles, “You are doing great too.” they kiss and Beatrice walks away, waving at Nicole one more time before she’s finally walking to the staircase, announcing she was going to take a shower. That left Rooster and Nicole…and the obvious hesitance of calling Mav and letting know they were coming.

Dat’s right, People, it’s time for ‘Keef watches TFP and you just get the notes!’

This is for season 1, episode 13: Sick Mind.

I write down the timestamps, but I watch Transformers Prime on Stan (an Australian streaming service) so they may be slightly off.

ALSO! I try my best to note points for every character, but tend to get a little caught up by Bee (although I think I do a pretty good job with the notes regardless) so do be warned.

00:07 - that’s amazing and so useful.

00:11 - hehe penetrate. + the kid’s faces look so funny.

00:12 - Bee’s looking at the roof. His gaze is too high for him to be(e) looking at the same thing everyone else is.

00:24 - honestly I really like the way that line was delivered. Just makes it sound like Ratchet’s hypothesis was created on the spot.

00:25 - I just think it’s silly how they’re all just standing like that.

00:30 - Arcee and Bee are in sync and I love it.

00:38 - Suspense, my beloved!

00:44 - didn’t even think twice about bringing his husband, huh?

00:51 - I don’t think he brought his medical ki- LOOK AT THEIR HEIGHT DIFFERENCE.

00:57 - holy shivers.. the visual is so beautiful and yet so dark.

01:12 - it’s at this point that it’s weird Ratchet doesn’t have a battle mask. Maybe he doesn’t need it. But I think he still would.

01:17 - Optimus checks to make sure Ratchet’s okay. Y e s .

01:31 - h o l y . Imagine seeing that!

01:34 - I was going to point out that they’re all the same model, then I saw the veins and the eye sockets and started crying.

01:48 - Ratchet touches da Booba.

02:01 - why was that bot fastened up there?!

02:04 - It’s confirmed by this- if Optimus was to be bot in an apocalypse, he would let the group know. Also a slight detail I like is that Optimus goes to touch his eye, but doesn’t, knowing he’ll probably make it worse.

20:59 - (inference) the only reason that Soundwave had to keep Megatron alive was because there was brain activity, so wouldn’t now be a good time to tell Soundwave it would be best to give up on Megatron?

And that was Sick Mind!

Honestly I enjoy that episode a lot! And watching it right after predatory makes the episode even better!

The episode fleshes/metals (I’m so funny) out a lot of the characters and the impact Optimus has on their lives and how far some may go, especially Bumblebee. I also think that the episode does some justice for Megatron, showing that he's not pure evil and will listen to reasoning, and there’s a progress between him and Bee where he gradually shows Bee more respect, although the dynamic was short lived, it was still very refreshing.

The episode also sets up that Bee is really good with communication (despite the barrier) and persuasion, using what he knew about Megatron to get the cure.

Genuinely a great episode 10/10.

Yes, He Really Does Hold Your Life and Your Future in His Hands

Q. What do you understand by the providence of God?

A. Providence is the almighty and ever present power of God by which he upholds, as with his hand, heaven and earth and all creatures, and so rules them that lead and blade, rain and drought, fruitful and lean years, food and drink, health and sickness, prosperity and poverty—all things, in fact, come to us not by chance but from his fatherly hand (Heidelberg Catechism Q/A 27).

This is my favorite Lord’s Day in the entire Catechism. I absolutely love its poetic description of providence. ”Sovereignty” is the word we hear more often. That’s a good word too. But if people run out of the room crying whenever you talk to them about sovereignty, try using the word “providence.” For some people God’s sovereignty sounds like nothing but raw, capricious power: “God has absolute power over all things and you better get used to it.” That kind of thing. And that definition is true in a sense, but divine sovereignty, we must never forget, is sovereignty-for-us. As Eric Liddel’s dad remarked in Chariots of Fire, God may be a dictator, but “Aye, he is a benign, loving dictator.”

Coming to grips with God’s all-encompassing providence requires a massive shift in how we look at the world. It requires changing our vantage point—from seeing the cosmos as a place where man rules and God responds, to beholding a universe where God creates and constantly controls with sovereign love and providential power.

The definition of providence in the Catechism is stunning. All things, yes all things, come to us not by chance but from his fatherly hand.” I will sometimes ask seminary students being examined for ordination, “How would the Heidelberg Catechism, particularly Lord’s Day 10, help you minister to someone who lost a limb in Afghanistan or just lost a job or just lost a child.” I am usually disappointed to hear students who should be affirming the confessions of their denomination shy away from Heidelberg’s strong, biblical language about providence. Like most of us, the students are much more at ease using passive language about God’s permissive will or comfortable generalities about God being “in control” than they are about stating precisely and confidently to those in the midst of suffering “this has come from God’s fatherly hand.” And yet, that’s what the Catechism teaches.

And more importantly, so does the Bible.

To be sure, God’s providence is not an excuse to act foolishly or sinfully. Herod and Pontius Pilate, though they did what God had planned beforehand, were still wicked conspirators (Acts 4:25-28). The Bible affirms human responsibility.

But the Bible also affirms, much more massively and frequently than some imagine, God’s power and authority over all things. The nations are under God’s control (Psalm 2:1-4; 33:10), as is nature (Mark 4:41; Psalm 135:7; 147:18; 148:8), and animals (2 Kings 17:25; Dan. 6:22;Matt. 10:29). God is sovereign over Satan and evil spirits (Matt. 4:10; 2 Cor. 12:7-8; Mark 1:27). God uses wicked people for his plans—not just in a “bringing good out of evil” sort of way, but in an active, intentional, “this was God’s plan from the get-go” sort of way (Job 12:16; John 19:11; Gen. 45:8; Luke 22:22; Acts 4:27-28). God hardens hearts (Ex. 14:17;Josh. 11:20; Rom. 9:18). God sends trouble and calamity (Judg. 9:23; 1 Sam. 1:5; 16:14; 2 Sam. 24:1; 1 Kings 22:20-23; Isa. 45:6-7; 53:10; Amos 3:6; Ruth 1:20; Eccl. 7:14). God even puts to death (1 Sam. 2:6, 25; 2 Sam 12:15; 2 Chr. 10:4, 14; Deut. 32:39). God does what he pleases and his purposes cannot be thwarted (Isa. 46:9-10; Dan. 4:34-35). In short, God guides all our steps and works all things after the counsel of his will (Prov. 16:33; 20:24; 21:2; Jer. 10:23; Psalm 139:16; Rom. 8:21; Eph. 1:11).

It’s worth noting that Lord’s Day 10 is explaining what the Apostles’ Creed means when it says, “I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” If God is the creator of all things and truly almighty, then he must continue to be almighty over all that he has created. And if God is a Father, then surely he exercises his authority over his creation and creatures for the good of his beloved children. Providence is nothing more than a belief in “God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth” brought to bear on our present blessings and troubles and buoying our hope into the future.

You can look at providence through the lens of human autonomy and our idolatrous notions of freedom and see a mean God moving tsunamis and kings like chess pieces in some kind of perverse divine play-time. Or you can look at providence through the lens of Scripture and see a loving God counting the hairs on our heads and directing the sparrows in the sky so that we might live life unafraid. “What else can we wish for ourselves,” Calvin wrote, “if not even one hair can fall from our head without his will?” There are no accidents in your life. Nothing has been left to chance. Every economic downturn, every phone call in the middle of the night, every oncology report has been sent to us from the God who sees all things, plans all things, and loves us more than we know.

As children of our Heavenly Father, divine providence is always for us and never against us. Joseph’s imprisonment seemed pointless, but it makes sense now. Slavery in Egypt makes sense now. Killing the Messiah makes sense now. Whatever difficulty or unknown you may be facing today, it will make sense someday–if not in this life, then certainly in the next.

We all have moments where we fear what the future may hold. But such fears are misplaced if we know the one who holds the future. The fact of the matter is all my worries may come true, but God will never be untrue to me. He will always lead me, always listen to me, and always love me in Christ. God moves in mysterious ways; we may not always understand why life is what it is. But we can face the future unafraid because we know that nothing moves, however mysterious, except by the hand of that great Unmoved Mover who moves all and is moved by none, and that this Mover is not an impersonal force but the God who is my Father in heaven.
