17. and 18.10.2020. | 2&3/100 Days of Productivity
The weekend was reserved for maintenance tasks that take up too much time during busy weeks. I went grocery shopping, meal prepped, cleaned my apartment.
I finished reading  Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. I read this book in less than three days, which is unusual for me, but I loved it so much. I cried a lot, but it was the good kind of crying.

10.19.20 - day 3/100 - it has been a gloomy couple days here, but I will admit, i love a good fall thunderstorm and hearing the raindrops against the window. there is something so soothing about rain in the dark. finally back to work and the ER was busy for a Tuesday, 8 AM - 6 PM is a long shift but thank god it flies by. I don’t love working in the ER, it kinda feels like an endless to-do list which is not particularly inspirational. also because there is no time to just enjoy a cup of coffee for 10 minutes, which is all i really need to make my day. my dreams are simple.
today/yesterday i:
finished another fellowship interview!
spoke to a potential mentor who is doing my dream job right now
made a Chinese style breakfast with 葱油饼 made from scratch as well as chicken congee and drunken chicken
made elephant ears from leftover puff pastry
worked out two days in a row
slept by 11 PM
one of the things I really want to force myself to create is an evening ritual. mornings are usually too busy for me as I go to work quite early, but the evening is time i can really spend relaxing.
my current after-work routine is:
shower immediately after coming home (wash of the COVID haha)
do a short pilates work-out if it’s too dark to run after work
eat dinner
make jasmine or non-caffeinated tea
watch my favorite silent vloggers (right now it’s Tina’s Life) right before bed
lotion my feet and legs while watching videos (they get so dry in the winter)
brush my teeth early
take my melatonin/vitamin D/flonase
moisturize my face and apply differin gel on my chin
read quietly
go to sleep between 10-11 PM
i’m hoping i can make this a habit in the coming months and that it will help me wind down after an exhausting day. what does your evening routine look like?

30/06/2020; 66/100 days of productivity:
Today I did two lectures: one on heart blocks (pictured above) and the other on end of life care in heart failure. I made and wrapped some presents for my friends; I’m planning to meet them soon pending the weather - I think the last time I hung out with them was in January? No one said that being an adult meant that your friendship group would have conflicting schedules 90% of the time.

18/05/2020; 62/100 days of productivity:
The weather was beautiful today so I sat outside whilst revising stroke and sepsis pathophysiology and guidelines. I may or may not have forgotten my limb anatomy so I thought it would be a good time to go over upper limb joints and a few clinically relevant points.

14/05/2020; 60/100 days of productivity:
I feel like I’ve been doing this tag forever.
Today’s revision has included atrial fibrillation, type 2 diabetes and hhs, pheochromocytoma, and cushing’s syndrome - in total, a lot of endocrinology. I’ve just finished watching a webinar on anaphylaxis, so I’m going to read over my notes before making some flashcards. I’ve realised my flashcards are a mess and I haven’t been tagging them correctly so I now have a mountain of a task to reorganise them.

26/02/2020; 29/100 days of productivity with @studiesandcaffeine
I wasn’t feeling too good when I woke up in the morning, but I still attended my dissection workshop at uni for 2 hours. We covered the facial muscles, blood and nerve supply to the face, and a whole lot about the orbit and extra-ocular muscles. I am glad that I did attend because it was good content to review.
I had to do my midweek share of cooking so I didn’t get much work done at home, apart from a lecture about insulin therapy in diabetes. So I have one more lecture to catch up on about diabetes (about its complications), and then two anatomy lectures from today. I’ve wrote a third of a poem for one of my group projects, and I wanted to get it done by Friday, but I’m stuck on how to progress with it.

20/04/20; 54/100 days of productivity:
The best thing about studying in my room during sun time is that it gets illuminated with these beautiful rainbows for a few hours each day. I did a lecture on malnutrition in older people, and then I did a workout for an hour. I’m not really an exercise person but I thought I should start because staying at home and sitting down all day is not good for anyone’s health. I started properly two weeks ago and I’m actually loving it! I’m starting to see changes in my body and my mood; let’s hope I can keep this up so that by the end of quarantine I’ll be a changed person (a girl can only dream). And then I did two more lectures to do with dentition and the microbiome in older people.

17/03/2020; 43/100 days of productivity with @studiesandcaffeine :
I cleared out my desk storage and emptied the bin under my desk, because I’ve been dumping everything without thinking, so everything just kind of piled up. My friends have been telling me to email someone for about five days now and I've been putting it off (mainly because I keep forgetting - I know, it’s completely unlike me), but I finally did it today. I was working on an assignment that’s due in April, but I’m not sure if I will even have to submit it anymore, because it’s reliant on my placement, which is most probably not going to happen anymore. But anyways, I created a few mind maps and timelines to help me with the write-up, so hopefully I can get it completely done tomorrow.
[photo above is from a while back, but it fits in nicely with the new lecture block i am starting next week to do with ageing]

23/01/20; 1/100 days of productivity in collab with @studiesandcaffeine :)
today was a laptop day so i didn’t end up handwriting notes, so here’s this week’s (incomplete) spread. Some of the things I did today include submitting part of my illness script assignment, reviewing cardio, resp and abdo history taking, and learning/reviewing asthma, diabetes and atrial fibrillation drug treatment. I also did some endocrinology revision to do with my first block, and i am halfway through a video which is going through different cancer scenarios.

30/04/2020; 57/100 days of productivity:
I had a haematological malignancy webinar at midday. I haven’t had much haematology teaching and I think I find it difficult, so it’s not my favourite at the minute, but I really enjoyed the webinar today. Maybe I just need to take my time with it when the time comes. Then I made some flashcards for the lectures I had this week and last week. I’m about to do some revision for my exam that’s less than a month away !?!
