SO i'm not dead! BUT i was working on a short film for the past year called aroon. very tough for me, but i learned a lot and i'm happy to commemorate it with some illustration
will try posting more regularly here and on my insta too!
the short film that i worked on from mid november to the end of december! i've already received my score so i think i'm allowed to post it now. it's the first short film that i've ever made & i don't have a lot of experience in animation & and know NOTHING about sound design so please ignore the flaws v__v pretend they don't exist.
animated in adobe photoshop & adobe premiere pro
for the background noise / music i downloaded a few lmms files that i found online and played around with them a little bit
hOW do i cancel the hollywood ppl that keep making the "HEEHEE ITS TIME FOR THE KIDDIE CATEGORY" jokes whenever theyre announcing best animated feature or short film like can we do this pls its so exhausting and disrespectful and never funny gOD
THE BOY AND THE HERON WON THIS YEAR AND WHEN I SAW IT IN THE THEATERS NEARLY EVERY SEAT WAS FILLED AND THERE WERE NO CHILDREN LMAO
Hello all!
I'm sorry for the long stint of radio silence. I have been busy compositing the film. All animation is complete and locked down. It has been a long process of putting everything together. If I'm lucky I will be able to finish the compositing this year!
Anyways, enjoy this small loop of a shot from the movie!
A long time ago, when I was a fledgling animation major frustrated and angry with how all the big animation studios in my country had ditched drawn animation for CGI, I came across a crowdfund campaign for a series of steampunk-themed animated shorts, drawn by hand and directed by former Disney animator James Lopez. Desperate to help show that there was still a market for what I saw as a beautiful and expressive medium unfairly kneecapped by the very companies who depended on it to rise to the top, I threw some money at the project and hoped that Lopez and his team would someday see it to fruition.
A lot has gone by in, what, a decade? But now, coinciding with a new wave of indie animation online, the first of the Hullabaloo series has finally arrived.
I look forward to seeing the rest soon, as they are released.
Machete and Vasco made an appearance in my dreams last night and I'd like to formally apologize to them bc my dreams are always horror slanted lol they didn't have a good time poor guys.
