I really really really want to believe that we're looking at a "trust the process" plotline for season six here but the cynical, 10+ years in fandom side of my brain is telling me there's definitely a process, but it's not one we wanna trust.

Like I really hate to be that guy but like... this is so common. A show will deliver a deep, meaningful, borderline co-dependent friendship between two men, the fandom will see it and go "they're in love", and then the show will go "NO THEYRE NOT THEYRE STRAIGHT THEY LIKE GIRLS THEY DONT EVEN LIKE EACH OTHER"

This happens SO often and I REALLY don't want to believe that's what's happening here but like... we had ONE conversation in this episode. One. Barely even a conversation, it was ONE LINE. Tossed in by Buck in the middle of a team conversation.

So. Idk. Maybe they're building to something, maybe they're not. I just get the feeling like the writers are trying to slowly shut Buddie down and it just makes me sad.
