Write a different POV, write without using commas, write a child's perspective, write fictional Twitter discourse, write a transcribed phone call, write without using the letter C, write a shape poem, write sentences that get shorter by a word every time. Some of them will be bad! And that's fine.

My undergrad degree was 50% Creative Writing (the other 50% was English Lit) and by far the most valuable part of those 3yrs was being asked to write wildly different things on a regular basis.

I haven't been good at doing this for ages though so I could do with following my own advice lmao

Pacing! At least on a sentence level 😅

I like stories with some GO and its something I think I'm good at replicating that in my own writing.

I'm trying really hard to write more chronologically because otherwise I end up only writing the fun parts never coming back for the rest. It's hard, though, and I've ended up getting bogged down in stuff that isn't important instead. The ideal answer is probably somewhere in the middle but idk how to get there yet.

I'm pretty happy with where I am technique-wise but my process needs a lot of work. Like a LOT of work.

I wish Mile and especially Apo would get more screen time on the World tour. Like Apo doesn't even have an alone perfomance, even though he is like on of the most talented. This whole family agenda of BOC is a little bit too much sometimes. Also I will never except Build, like you seem to like him, but the guy is a rape apologist and I will never forgive him for that, don't think he has changed like he has claimed, like it wasn't that long ago he maide those comments.

idkman, i can't really attest to how they decided the lineup for the show but I would hope that Apo would get a solo performance if he wanted one. As it stands he does fight choreo and sings and does the aisle walkthrough, which is about as much exposure as anybody gets over the course of the show. I would LOVE to see him dance but I get the feeling that's just not what he's interested in atm? I just kind of assumed he prefers pairing up with Mile😅. Actually the family aspect is something I really like, it feels nice that they're giving the less-seen cast members time to shine. And as for Build, I feel pretty…neutral toward him tbh. My feelings about his whole thing are (hoping I'm not kicking a hornet's nest) he had some very bad takes. They sucked, they were wrong, and they hurt the people who saw them. If his apology doesn't ring true I totally get why you wouldn't want anything to do with him but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because to me 8 years IS a long time, long enough to learn and change your mind. If there were allegations about him actually committing assault or having inappropriate conduct I'd feel very differently but as far as I know he was a guy who said gross problematic shit that he apologised for, and until he does something to discredit that statement I'll believe him when he says he's sorry and doesn't hold that opinion anymore.

I (8yrs post PhD) left my job 2 years ago at university X. I am currently paid by university Y in a full time job at Y. It’s common in my job to have a few unfinished projects when you leave that you continue to work on. When I left, I agreed to take on a handful of projects, including P1 for H(>1yr to PhD now). Any work I do for H is unpaid and comes out of my free time.

Before I left, I was working on a different project, P2, for H. When I left, I through P2 was done and that’s what I told my ex boss. I had no plans to work on P2 after I left.

H reached out to me recently to let me know she needs P1 and P2 finished by Feb 14 to graduate. At university X, you have 4 years of funding, and if you go past 4 years you may not get paid.

I said I will finish P1 and would meet with her on P2. After we met I said I would do 4 hours of work on P2. I spent 2 hours and determine it will take ~12 more to do the work well. I told H, L, and H’s advisor that she needs a lot more than 2 hours and I can’t provide that.

H set her bare minimum, which I still believe to be more than I can do in 2 hours.

WIBTA if I only do the 2 hours I promised and H doesn’t graduate on time?
