I haven't even played Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, but I saw a screenshot of this tired looking man and instantly loved him. @drunkenmantis told me this was Larry, then we started bouncing ideas of this overworked man finally taking a vacation to Alola XD

The beginning dialogue between Nanu and Larry was directly taken from Mantis >w> THANK YOU

I have a small headcanon that Larry's casual clothes are bright and tacky, but he rarely gets a chance to wear them due to the dress code for work and he's ALWAYS working. The little bit of flair he gets to have is the tie with the cloud pattern because it blends with the suit.

nah but for real may i offer u some creatures that are just. assigned. i do not imagine them as anything else anymore

#i didn't want to take the easy way out and give yakumo a snake based pokemon.... but i mean... if the vibe fit i wouldn't complain #unfortunately. the vibe did NOT fit.#seviper? no. arbok? nope. serperior?? do i see ANY part of yakumo that acts as smug as snivy looks? Naaaaaahhhhhhhh #WELL!!! UNTIL THERE IS A MORE FITTING SNAKE POKEMON. girafarig.#cue me scrolling down the entire pokedex staring at the tiny sprites trying to get a read on who would fit which clan member #i ended up collecting a lot of POSSIBILITIES but after a while i wasn't sure if they were more suited to BEING the character...#vs being OWNED by the character #for example. with blade. i just started putting all the little weirdos under his jurisdiction. WAILORD. LUVDISC. ALOLA EXEGGUTOR.
