Sorry, summer was really busy between classes and internship and stuff. (full update is in the most recent Daily-Mai post (that is also not daily, lol). And please forgive the shitty background! Idk how to background!

New Kuvira

(completed 2020.01.22)

It started off as just a sketch of her face and evolved into an almost-full body drawing, then I decided it would be a redraw of the old “New Kuvira” drawing I did a while back, but I redid the dress to be less Fire-Nation-y since it is still early on in Kuvira’s transformation, and I changed the scene to be outside (and that is an attempt at a sunset) instead of some hallway as before. For colours I just did everything the same and excluded the red shoulder pointy thingy and skirt addition and chain. 

Also it was fun to attempt a new technique of greyscale shading and then just-- quite literally dumping colors underneath all on a single layer. I love it when trash turns into something actually... not that repulsive. :D

The first image is the original that I made and the second is the same image with the ‘Vivid Warm’ filter on iPad Pro regular photo app thingy.

(I was going to furnish the shelves with books, but I got too tired of the drawing...  I basically rushed through the whole thing in eleven hours and something minutes in two days.)

This a new piece completed 20 January 2020 (but I started back in December). I lowkey already despise the colors, but that’s okay. 

The purpose was to have a reference for the new costumes Kuv and Taemon make for themselves (and Arisu) in Ashes of the Fire Nation in preparation with the final battle. Kuvira has learned passive bending (that enables her to control the metal panels there without moving her limbs or depending on martial arts movements and stuff [idk how feasible it is in canon avatar-verse, but whatever])

Sketched in Procreate, lined in Adobe Draw (the orange one with the V on it that is supposed to vectorize it but it doesnt[or I simply have no idea what i am doing]), and then colored back in Procreate...

Disclaimer: I don’t know how to color or backlight or metal...
