I sometimes think about Desmond in a transformers au, where he'd either be a human trying to avoid the whole alien robots coming to earth or is a bot trying to stay out of the war

(I like to think he'd transform into a motorcycle lol)

I mean… why not make Desmond’s life miserable (affectionately) by making it both?

So let’s do the usual Desmond is the ultimate isekai protagonist and kick him in the Transformer universe of your choice after he dies after operating the device.

Desmond finds himself in a world very similar to his own that the only difference is that there are no Assassins or Templars or even Isus in this world. If you want to give him a headache, this world has Assassin’s Creed as a fictional franchise that started out as a video game.

And it’s only small blessings that the name Desmond Miles is not that weird and he doesn’t look like the game Desmond Miles because the game Desmond Miles always have a different face in each game.

So, anyway, the Autobots and Decepticons start their war again here on Earth and Desmond is trying not to be part of it.

Unfortunately for him, it seemed that the war keeps following him for some reason.

Desmond thinks it’s a coincidence and he’s just focus on helping people escape the destruction that comes with the Decepticons not having any problems with collateral damage and the Autobots only being able to prevent so much before having to focus on actually trying to take down the Decepticons.

Then…

Desmond almost gets crushed by the rubbles…

Only to be able to get into safety by turning into a motorcycle.

What. The. Fuck.

He doesn’t know it yet but…

The reason why the Decepticons and Autobots are always in the vicinity where he is or seemed to be going the same direction?

They’re looking for the same thing:

The Allspark, a powerful artifact from their world that is said to be able to create new Transformer life.

And they can only get the ‘area’ where it’s supposed to be, not its exact location.

Something that they find to be strange.

They believe that one of the humans might have it but that’s not possible because the AllSpark cannot be held by a human.

None of them can even think of the possibility…

That the AllSpark has taken human form.

I don't know if you do Assassin's Creed, but how would the Transformers Animated and Transformers Prime versions of Optimus and Megatron think of the Assassin and Templar conflict? Considering the Templars endgoal of stripping away, free will, along with "never my fault" tendencies.

TFA Optimus would initially be on the Templars side simply because they at first glance appear to be a righteous organization. But as he learns more about them he realizes that they are a tyrannical group and that's not something he can stand for. Eventually grows to understand and sympathize with the Assassins.

TFA Megatron thinks both groups can be useful for his plans. He manipulates the Assassins and collaborates with the Templars, promising them a place on the intergalactic scene if they aide him. Otherwise he doesn't really care about human conflicts and he holds no sympathies for either side.

TFP Optimus feels for the Assassins. In a way they remind him of the autobots. Both factions have fought a long battle and there are now few of them left, all scattered and doing their best to survive. Really dislikes the Templars and their ideology. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings after all.

TFP Megatron doesn't actually care about the ideologies of either organization though he's annoyed by the Assassin's self righteousness and by the Templar's stuck up sense of self importance. Will however work with the Templars to deal with the autobot's human allies.

Desmond is pretty much my blorbo of all time but he’s also the poster child for learned helplessness fr. dude will subject himself to literally going insane because he was told to (yeah yeah saving the world. shut up he deserves to be happy). He’s also high-key the chosen one of all of human history and the only thing it gets him is kidnapped, crazy, and dead. So he dies to save the world, a million angels weeping etc. Meanwhile Alex is literally a supervirus cosplaying as a guy and had low/no empathy even when he was human. (He also tries to take over the world in game 2 but he’s allowed to as a treat). So obvi parallels with the great power great responsibility and being tortured for science reasons But they handle it very differently. Alex eats people, takes over all of manhattan and slamdunks a nuke into Long Island Sound. So yeah character Foils and I think Des deserves someone who treats him as top priority instead of the Greater Good and that Alex is that someone.
