For the character ask: Elphaba and Glinda (Wicked)
Well, I'm not deeply familiar with this show, just casually familiar, but here goes. Musical only, because I haven't read the book.
Elphaba
Favorite thing about them: I admire her for standing up against injustice and fighting to free others from oppression, even if it means being labeled a "wicked witch" by all of Oz and risking her life. Beyond that, I like how relatable she is, both in her anger and in her vulnerability and yearning for love, to anyone who feels different or cast out. For a wide array of reasons – race, neurodivergence, sexuality, gender identity, political stance – countless people identify with her and feel validated because she exists. This makes her a valuable character for much the same reason as her spiritual sister (and sound-alike) Elsa from Frozen. It's probably the main reason why the trend of "famous villain reimagined as an outcast hero or heroine" has become so popular throughout the last two decades – a trend that as far as I know, Elphaba single-handedly started.
Least favorite thing about them: I hate the catfight scene with Glinda after Nessarose's death, although I blame Glinda more for it – at least Elphaba's anger is righteous and not jealousy-based. Morally, though, the worst thing she does is imprison Dorothy.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I often feel like an outsider.
*I'm outraged by social injustice and do what I can to help the marginalized.
*I have a temper that I try to control, though fortunately mine doesn't cause magical mishaps.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm not brave enough to become the most hated and feared outlaw in my country in the name of fighting for justice.
*I don't pretend not to care what others think of me.
*I don't have green skin.
Favorite line: The lyrics to "The Wizard and I," "Defying Gravity," and "No Good Deed."
brOTP: In-universe, Glinda. In crossover-land, I'd also love to see her meet Elsa from Frozen and Angelina Jolie's Maleficent (both of whom arguably owe their existence to her), and maybe Enjolras from Les Misérables, since he's a fellow revolutionary – there's a funny fan comic that shows them getting drunk together at a slumber party for musical characters.
OTP: Fiyero. (Yes, I know that for some fans it's sacrilege not to ship her with Glinda, but I just like her better with Fiyero romantically, and besides, if we don't believe she really loves him, then the emotional power of "No Good Deed" and the sweet part of the bittersweet ending both fall flat.)
nOTP: The Wizard, even if he weren't her father.
Random headcanon: Someday she'll learn that the Wizard was her real father, and she'll be shaken by the revelation, but ultimately it will matter less to her than it does to him. He was just a sperm donor.
Unpopular opinion: Two of them.
(1) I think some fans – and maybe the libretto itself – view her too much as a "morally ambiguous" character. "She's neither a good guy nor a bad guy," they say, "there are two sides to every story." But IMHO, the real morally ambiguous figure in this show is Glinda. Elphaba is never perfect, it's true, but she's a straightforward sympathetic heroine until the 11th hour, when she only temporarily turns "bad" because she's emotionally broken. For the most part, she is a good guy.
(2) She's not a lesbian, she's bisexual. While she might have some unspoken feelings beyond friendship for Glinda, she truly is in love with Fiyero (see OTP above).
Song I associate with them: All her solos, but especially the iconic "Defying Gravity":

Glinda
Favorite thing about them: Her sheer three-dimensionality and growth as a character. Of course she's not the purely good, fairy-like Glinda from The Wizard of Oz, but neither is she the shallow, bubble-headed "mean girl" she seems to be at first. She's probably the most complex character in the musical. I think she's very comparable to the King in The King and I, her relationship with Elphaba corresponding to his with Anna. Like him, she's funny and she sometimes seems like a silly, spoiled jerk, but she has real warmth, cleverness, and sympathetic qualities too, and is torn between a flawed status quo and risky changes, as well as between her conscience and her ego, while navigating a position of power. This is rare for a female character, especially an unabashedly girly one.
Least favorite thing about them: That she turns against Elphaba and tries to get her captured by the Wizard, taking advantage of her sister's death to do it no less, just because she's angry that Fiyero left her for Elphaba. Yes, she regrets it and they have their heartwarming reconciliation in the end, but it's still very bad.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I like pastel colors like pink and pale blue.
*I'm not always brave enough to stand up for what I know is right.
*I can be very lively and exuberant about things I enjoy.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I've always been an "odd one out," not part of the popular crowd.
*I don't tend to be cutesy or flirty.
*I can't imagine myself becoming a political leader.
Favorite line: Most of her solo lines from "Thank Goodness," showing her inner conflict under her happy facade.
brOTP: Elphaba.
OTP: None. I know this is unpopular among fans who ship her with Elphaba, but I ship her first and foremost with personal growth.
nOTP: Fiyero or the Wizard.
Random headcanon: Someday she'll meet Elphaba and Fiyero again. I don't know the details, but it will be an exciting sequel, and even if they part again in the end, she at least won't need to live the rest of her life thinking they died because of her.
Unpopular opinion: I can't agree when I see people write about what a wonderful friend to Elphaba she is, how she's the best person in Elphaba's life, or how she's actually wiser than Elphaba because she knows that to achieve anything socio-politically you need to be liked. While of course she's more sympathetic than she seems at first, she's still deeply flawed both as a person and as a friend – that's part of the point – and while it's true that she, not Elphaba, is the one who frees Oz from the Wizard's rule in the end, she never would have done it without being "changed for good" by Elphaba.
Song I associate with them: All her songs, but especially "Popular":

Broken trust
With the coming of Spring, the snowstorms in the North mountain stopped, giving Anna and Elsa the opportunity to spend more time outside. The weather was still cold and the occasional sleet interrupted their activities, but Anna was happily taking advantage of the nice weather to leave the cottage more often. It was a nice change for both girls now that Elsa was able to be outside and move her leg more, and Anna was enjoying the North mountain in all its beauty.
Over a month had passed since Elsa’s cast was removed and her recovery was becoming more evident. She no longer used her crutches, she could walk longer distances, and she was able to complete the exercises the therapist gave her without complaint. Movements that had been a painful experience at first, were now part of her daily routine and she was pleased to feel her leg getting stronger every week. She was still careful not to overdo herself and not train more than necessary, and of course a walking boot was still a necessary precaution; but all in all Elsa could experience a sense of freedom she hadn’t enjoyed since before the accident.
It was for that reason Anna was confident Elsa was going to be able to complete the activity she had planned for her that day. She had arrived to the mountain early in the morning and she had dragged the older girl outside; explaining they were going to spend some time in a small slope not far away from Elsa’s cottage.
What call Elsa’s surprise, however, was not the time she had arrived, but the fact she was carrying a couple of sleds with her; even when the amount of snow was not enough for them to use them. “I thought you said we were going to study today,” said Elsa after her curiosity took the best of her, when they reached the slope.
“We are!” answered Anna throwing the sleds in between both of them, and taking her backpack off her shoulders.
“Here?” They were at the top of a short slope and Elsa couldn’t see anything worth studying around them.
“Yes, here. We’re going to use these!” Her hand pointing to the sleds on the ground.
“Sleds?”
“Yes. Just follow my lead.” A big smile plastered on Anna’s face as she put one of the sleds close to where the slope began. “Come on. Get on it and sled down the slope.”
Elsa looked incredulously at Anna and then at the slope. There wasn’t enough snow for it to be safe, and she had no intentions of getting hurt. “No, thanks.”
“What? Why?” Anna knew perfectly well why and she was expecting Elsa’s answer from the beginning, but she didn’t want to spoil her idea.
“Because I want my leg to heal and to keep my head in place.”
“Oh, really?” she said raising an eyebrow. “And why is that?”
Elsa stayed silent looking at Anna for a few seconds. She couldn’t believe she was asking something so ridiculous. Even a child could see it was a bad idea. “There isn't much snow. I could sled down for a few metres, but then my sled would get stuck and I would end up with my head on the ground.”
“Okay. Why is snow better?” Anna could barely keep a serious face seeing Elsa's unamused expression. In the last few weeks she had found out - with Kristoff's help - how fun it was to get on Elsa's nerves with the silliest things.
"Snow is snow. You can sled on it."
"Okay," she said, thinking it was best to stop goofing around. "Now, I need the real explanation. Why is snow better?"
“Well… It just is.” She said, not sure about her answer. “I don't know how to explain it. Things just slide on it."
Anna smiled at her answer and kneeled down to take a book out f her bag. “The answer is here.” She handed the book to Elsa and let her examine it for a moment.
“Physics?”
“Physics,” she agreed. “It's super fun. You'll love it.”
Elsa turned a few pages of the book, but didn’t seem convinced.
“Have you ever heard about Newton’s laws?” asked Anna, as she took the book from Elsa’s hands. She didn’t want her to start reading until they did the experiment first.
“No.”
“Have you heard about gravity?” she tried.
“Yes.”
“Then you've heard at least one of Newton's laws.” She laughed when she noticed Elsa’s confusion. “Don't look at me like that! I'll show you what I’m talking about. But first,” she put an arm around Elsa’s shoulder. “I need you to cover the slope with snow.”
“What?”
“Cover the slope with snow.” It didn’t take long for Anna to notice Elsa was not at all comfortable with the idea, and she insisted, “come on. Use your powers so we can do the activity I planned.”
“No.”
“Please…” she begged. “I really want to see you use your powers.”
She shook her head and crossed her arms, hiding her hands from view. “It could be dangerous, Anna.”
“Your powers are not dangerous.” She thought of a way to convince Elsa. After all, they couldn’t do what she had in mind if Elsa didn’t cooperate. And if she had to be honest, she was dying to see Elsa’s powers once again. She had been patient and she had given Elsa enough time to feel comfortable around her before asking; but now, she couldn’t wait anymore. “Please use them. I'll stand over there if it makes you feel better,” she said, pointing a few metres away from where they were standing.
“I don't know…”
“I know for a fact you use your powers when no-one's around.”
“That's not true,” tried to contradict Elsa, but Anna’s incredulous expression let her know she didn’t believe a word she was saying. “I… I-” she sighed in defeat. “Fine. I do sometimes.”
“Busted!” laughed Anna.
“So what if I use my powers from time to time?” Elsa didn’t like the mocking tone Anna was using. For her, her powers were part of who she was, even if they made her life harder sometimes.
“There's nothing wrong with it,” clarified Anna. “All I'm saying is that, since you use your powers on your own, you can start using them in front of me. It'll be fun. Come on!”
“I don't feel comfort-”
“Wait,” she interrupted. “Or is it that you can’t do what I’m asking?”
“Of course I can.” In Elsa’s opinion, Anna clearly didn’t understand how strong her powers were if she thought she wasn’t able to do something as simple as covering a small slope in snow.
“I bet that is,” continued Anna, not paying attention to Elsa. “You can't. So, you’d rather say you don't want to, than to make a fool of yourself.”
“What?”
“And here I was thinking you had an amazing power.” She turned around and kneeled down to pick her bag from the floor.
“I can cover the slope in snow in an instant.”
“There’s no reason to pretend, Elsa. I should have known better.” She turned her head enough to see Elsa’s reaction and smirked when she saw her annoyed expression. She silently thanked Kristoff for teaching her how to push Elsa’s buttons.
“Oh, please, look,” said Elsa in exasperation. She looked down the slope, and with a flick of her hands she covered it with a massive amount of snow. Proud of being perfectly capable of doing it, she turned to see Anna’s expression. But to her surprise, she was grinning. “You just tricked me… Didn't you?” A sigh left her mouth at her own stupidity.
“Yes!” answered Anna excitedly for what she had just seen. The power Elsa possessed was even greater than she had imagined, and she couldn’t be happier she had been able to experience it. “And it was wonderful!”
“I can't believe I fell for that.” She was clearly ashamed for letting her pride get the best of her.
“You should be proud of your powers, you know?” said Anna as she examined Elsa’s snow in her hand. “They are incredibly beautiful.”
Elsa wasn’t used to receiving compliments for her powers, and blood rushed to her face in an instant. Trying to divert attention from what she had just done, she asked, “what did you want the snow for?”
“Oh, right!” Anna came back to the matter at hand. “I forgot about that for a moment.” She laughed at herself and ordered, “get on the sled.”
“Weren't we going to study?”
Letting a tired sigh escape her lips she said, "Can you, please, trust me? Just get on the sled.”
"I trust you, I just-"
"Ah, la la la," sang Anna, stopping Elsa's excuses. "I don't care. Get on the sled."
Elsa stayed where she was, looking at Anna as if she had lost her mind. But after a few seconds, she accepted defeat and got on the sled. "You are so weird sometimes," she said, once she was comfortably seated.
"I know. Isn't it fun?"
Elsa couldn't help but laugh. She had noticed how excited Anna was about whatever they were about to do and, seeing no reason in delaying the inevitable, she said, "Okay. Now what-?” A push on her back sent her down the slope before she could even finish her question, and she couldn't do more than yell Anna's name. “Anna!”
"Mark the spot where the sled stops!" Came Anna's yell from the top as she was reaching the end.
It took Elsa a few minutes to come to a full stop, mark the place and go back to the top of the slope. When she finally reached Anna's side, the girl was getting a second sled ready for her.
"Care to tell me why you pushed me down the-?"
Anna stood up, took the first sled from Elsa's arms and pointed to the new one which was on its mark, waiting for her. "Get on this other sled."
Elsa crossed her arms and not for the first time looked at Anna as if she had completely lost it. "And here I was thinking the extra sled was in case you wanted to join me in my new adventure of learning how to use a sled."
"Oh, you behave so much like Kristoff sometimes," complained Anna. There was no point in doing the activity if she explained things to Elsa beforehand. "Just get on the sled and have fun. Will you?"
"Fine. Fine. You're the boss."
For the following hour, Anna continued sending Elsa down the slope. Asking her to sit in different positions and even carry some weight with her, as well as changing the sleds everytime.
It was obvious Elsa began to have fun right after she stopped trying to find some logic behind Anna's experiment. However, she was genuinely curious to know what Anna wanted to achieve with it, and she kept marking where the sleds stopped every time. At some point during the experiment, Elsa challenged Anna to a race. Anna not being able to refuse soon got on the extra sled and began enjoying the activity together with Elsa.
Anna, on her part, couldn't be happier the activity was working so well. She had planned it during winter but at the time she didn’t dare try it - not wishing to damage Elsa’s leg. But Elsa's powers had proven to be just as perfect as fresh snow, and she was glad she had been able to convince Elsa to use them.
After Anna had achieved everything she wanted with the activity, and she had had some fun with Elsa, she sat in the snow at the end of the slope with a happy sigh. Elsa soon joined her, sitting next to her. Somehow relieved the activity was over. She had been enjoying herself more than she imagined, but she was starting to feel exhausted. Months of inactivity were still taking a toll on her.
Taking a deep breath, she asked, “are you going to tell me what we were doing, now?”
“Oh? Oh! Yes, right. Sorry." Anna had been so pleased with herself she had forgotten Elsa was still waiting for an explanation. "You marked every stop, didn’t you?"
Elsa nodded.
"Great. Now look around and tell me, did you stop in the same place every time?"
Elsa complied and after a moment she had her answer. "No."
Anna crossed her legs to be more comfortable and asked, "why do you think that is?"
Elsa thought for a while. She had an idea, but she knew Anna was now asking as a teacher and was expecting her to justify her answers. She wasn’t sure about the reasons behind the results, but she still tried to give acceptable theories.
Anna listened to her attentively before she began explaining the different laws and how physics had an effect on everything. She wasn’t too specific at first since Elsa was going to read in detail each law once they were back at the cottage. But she was happy to offer the older girl a reasonable explanation. To her surprise, Elsa’s hypothesis were interesting and not at all wrong. Of course she couldn’t justify everything in detail, but Anna was pleased to see she had grasped the main idea of the experiment.
After the explanation was over, Anna suggested they returned to Elsa’s house and sat down to read and take notes from everything they had learnt that morning.
From the beginning, Anna was certain Elsa was going to like the topic, but she never imagined she was going to start thinking on the many ways she could use that knowledge to become a better skier. Making Anna really proud of her. She was smarter than she gave herself credit for.
Not for the first time, Anna thought about how unfair life had been to Elsa. A really smart girl, who could have become anything she wanted, was forced to be an illiterate for half her life; and then she was pushed aside in a society that didn’t see value in those who didn’t have a piece of paper proving they were good enough. But even if the idea made her really angry, she tried to focus in the present. At least after years of injustice, life had offered Elsa a family and a possibility to change her fate.
Anna had been so absorbed by her thoughts she hadn’t realised the older girl had already finished her work, and was putting her things away. “I’m sorry, what?” said Anna when she noticed Elsa was talking to her.
“I was just saying ‘thank you’.”
“Thank you? For what?”
Elsa then smiled, but didn’t look up to meet Anna’s eyes. “For telling me to use my powers today. You reminded me they can bring joy and be useful from time to time.”
Anna beamed at her words, and put her hand on top of Elsa’s, pleased to feel it warmer than usual. “I won’t get tired of saying this Elsa. Your powers are wonderful. It’s time you start giving yourself the chance to enjoy them. Especially around Kristoff and me.”
“Yeah. Maybe...”
She could hear the hesitation in Elsa’s voice, but Anna knew just giving the idea some thought was a huge step forward for Elsa.
--
Anna arrived home later than she had intended that evening. After the studying session with Elsa was over, both girls had stayed in Elsa's couch talking and enjoying some hot chocolate which caused Anna to lose track of time completely. She took the last bus heading to town, and arrived at her parents' a few minutes before dinner.
She entered the kitchen and greeted her mother who was by the stove. Mother and daughter talked about their day and after a while, Anna sat at the small table in the kitchen.
Her family rarely used the table to eat, so Anna was not surprised to see piles of paperwork and documents belonging to her father and a couple of books she had left there the previous day. However, what did call Anna's attention was the half-written letter and envelope she was sure wasn’t there the day before. Not thinking much about it, she picked the envelope, and was shocked to read the addressee.
Thinking it was best to ask her mother instead of jumping to conclusions, Anna called Idunn's attention. "Mum?"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"What’s this?" she asked, raising the envelope for her mother to see.
The woman turning around to see what Anna was talking about, when she noticed the familiar envelope in her daughter's hand. "Oh, no, no. Give me that." She rushed to where Anna was sitting, and grabbed the envelope from her hand, as well as the letter she had been writing some minutes before Anna arrived. "It’s- it’s nothing important."
The way she had reacted was all the confirmation Anna needed, but she still asked, "Are you writing a letter to Elsa?"
"No…" tried to lie Idunn, but soon noticed it was useless. Anna had already read the name in the envelope. "It's not what you think it is."
Anna raised one eyebrow in disbelief, but didn't say anything, giving her mother the chance to explain herself.
"It’s just a way of expressing the way I feel," she admitted, ashamed of herself. "It’s silly."
Anna felt bad for the way her mother looked down and tightened her grip on the letter. If she thought about it, Anna could see some similarities in the way her mother and Elsa behaved whenever they were ashamed. "I don’t think it’s silly…" she tried to reassure. "Something tells me this isn't the first letter you write, is it?"
Idunn shook her head, still not daring look at Anna in the eyes.
"How long have you been doing it?"
"For quite some time now. This must be the tenth letter I've written so far." She put the letter inside the envelope and left it on the table once again.
Anna opened her eyes in surprise. She knew her mother was still struggling with everything that had happened, but to hear she had written over ten letters let her see just how much she wished to talk to her daughter. “Are you planning to send those letters?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Elsa doesn't want to have anything to do with your father and me,” answered Idunn with a sigh. “I want to respect her wishes.” Truth was Idunn and Agdar had stayed in contact during that time with the Bjorgmans. They even met a couple more times after they had discussed Elsa’s past. And every time, Idunn made sure to ask Gerda if Elsa had changed the way she felt, or if she had shown any interest in meeting them again. To her disappointment, Elsa hadn’t changed her resolution not to meet them.
“Well, she doesn't know what you guys went through. Maybe those letters could be a way to let her know. And it’d be up to her if she wants to hear your reasons. You wouldn’t be forcing her.” Anna remembered her promise to Elsa about not forcing her to give her parents a chance, but she saw no problem in trying to convince her parents not to give up hope.
“Won't I be pressuring her if I send them?”
“I could deliver the letters myself and explain she doesn't have to read them if she doesn't want to. And she knows I won’t pressure her either.”
“I don't know, Anna.” The idea of Elsa reading everything she had written was tempting. After all, more than being able to hold her daughter in her arms again, Idunn wanted Elsa to understand that she had been loved. That she was still very much loved. And she knew her letters made that clear; however, there existed that lingering fear of making everything worse if she sent them.
“Look,” said Anna calling her attention. “All I'm saying is those letters may give you a chance.”
“You really think so?”
“You've always had a way with words. I'm sure whatever you wrote must be coming from your heart. And I know you've got a good heart, mum.”
Idunn blinked away a couple of tears and embraced her daughter. To hear those words coming from Anna’s mouth after everything they had put her through meant more to Idunn than she could explain. She kissed her cheek and promised to think about her offer.
Anna smiled and detached from her mother when the kitchen timer called their attention.
Idunn returned to her task at hand, and after a few minutes she dared ask, “how's Elsa doing?” She always wanted to ask Anna that question after her younger daughter returned from the mountain, but she rarely found the courage.
Anna’s smile became bigger with the question, happy to know the ‘taboo’ of talking about Elsa’s life was slowly disappearing in the household. “She's doing fine. Her leg is healing fast.” Anna walked back to her mother’s side so they could talk more comfortably. “She's even training with Marshmallow now. They go walking and he also helps her with her exercises.”
Idunn smiled knowing her daughter was finally feeling better after the terrible accident, but her expression changed to one of confusion at the strange name. “Who's Marshmallow?”
“Your son-in-law,” said Anna matter-of-factly, before laughing at her own joke. She was certain that if Elsa could hear her, she’d be throwing something at her right at that moment.
“You call Kristoff 'Marshmallow'?"
But of course her mother didn’t get the joke since she had completely forgotten to mention the guy’s existence before that moment. “No, no,” she laughed again. “Your other son-in-law. Well, he's not technically your son-in-law yet. But you know what I mean.”
“To be honest, I don’t,” she said, having no idea what Anna was talking about. “Just tell me who Marshmallow is.”
“He's Elsa's friend. A huge mountaineer. Ridiculously tall.”
“Are they- are they together?” Idunn stuttered, taken aback now that she understood who the man was.
Anna pushed her mother with the shoulder in a playful way. “Interested in her love life, mum?”
“What? No, Anna.” Leave it to her daughter to find the way to make her feel guilty for prying into Elsa’s life. “You said he was- You know what? It doesn’t matter.”
She cracked up at her mother’s poor attempt at justifying her curiosity. “I'm just messing with you!”
Idunn didn’t waste time and threw the dishcloth in her daughter’s face.
“Hey!” complained Anna in between laughs before answering her mother’s question. “No, they are not together. I just like to joke around. But he is her friend and they’ve been spending a lot of time together lately.”
She smiled at the idea of Elsa finally finding a friend outside her family circle. But her happiness was short lived, worrying about Elsa’s safety. Finding out about her past had made Idunn more aware of the dangers of the wrong people finding out about Elsa’s powers. “Is he a good person?”
Not paying too much attention to her mother’s question, Anna answered, “he's really quiet and respectful. He's a pretty great guy. I think you'd like him.”
She sighed in relief, knowing she could trust her daughter’s judgement. After a bad experience with an ex-boyfriend, Anna had learnt to read people’s intentions better, and she always checked the intentions of those who got closer to her loved ones. “I'm glad Elsa's found a friend, then.”
Anna found her mother’s comment a bit weird, but she simply nodded.
--
The following weekend, Anna was eager to visit Elsa so she took a bus on Friday evening to get to the North mountain the day before their class. She had something special she wanted to share with Elsa, and her enthusiasm couldn’t wait till morning. She thought it was a good opportunity to spend some time with the girl too. Talking or simply enjoying time together had become harder after Anna’s exams began. University had taken a lot of her time, and she rarely found the chance to stay more time than it was strictly necessary to help Elsa study.
The weather was colder than the previous week, forcing Anna to hide her face inside her scarf and put her hands inside her pockets as she walked in the direction of Elsa’s cottage. Coming out of the path, she noticed the lights outside the cabin weren’t on, something strange considering Elsa’s preference. She always insisted on keeping the lights on since it made homes look more lively.
She knocked on the door a couple of times but to her bad luck no-one answered. She knew there existed the possibility Elsa was spending some time with Marshall, and Anna was sure it wasn’t going to take long for her to return home.
Part of her was certain the right thing to do was wait outside for Elsa’s return, but the cold wind was becoming harder to tolerate by the minute. Remembering Elsa practically never closed her door. Anna tried to open it, and to her delight, the door was unlocked. She murmured a thank you to Elsa’s questionable habits and entered the place.
She closed the door behind her, and turned on the light. She shrieked in fear startled by Elsa who was, to her surprise, sitting in the living room just a few metres from the door.
"Hi," said Anna once she had been able to calm her racing heart down. "I’m sorry I let myself in. But I thought you weren’t home and I know-" Anna stopped in her tracks when she noticed Elsa was not responding. Instead, she was looking down at a piece of paper in her hand. And what was more worrisome, she was crying. It was only then, Anna realised she hadn’t even noticed her presence. "Elsa?" she said louder, trying to call her attention.
"Anna…" said Elsa, when she became aware of her surroundings. She tried in vain to get herself together, leaving the paper on the coffee table, and drying her tears. "I didn't hear you knock."
"Elsa are you okay?"
"It's not important," she lied, but her voiced cracked betraying her words.
Anna rushed to her side and sat down next to her. "It must be if it makes you cry like this. What's going on?”
She whimpered and hugged herself. Not being able to answer Anna’s question.
“Elsa, please, tell me what’s wrong. You can trust me.”
Anna watched Elsa extend her hand and pick up one of the documents scattered on the coffee table. Soon handing it to Anna. “I found this inside one of my composition books.”
“What is this?"
“I don't understand half the things it says-” A sob interrupted Elsa, and she took a shuddering breath before continuing. “It's about me.”
Still not comprehending what the document was about and where it came from, Anna asked, "where did you get that composition book?"
"Gerda, she- she gave it to me." Once again, Elsa tried to control her emotions, but the more she tried to stop crying the harder it was to control her powers; and she already knew the temperature was colder than it should be inside the house. Not wanting to make things more complicated, she opted to let her tears fall, focusing only on keeping the ice at bay.
Noticing how distressed Elsa was, Anna thought it was best to try and help her calm down before reading the paper in her hand. “Elsa, don’t jump to conclusions, okay? Even if it's about you, it doesn't mean it's something bad.”
“It- It’s about a legal precedi- precee-” she made an effort to remember the word, but it was difficult to focus. All she could think about was Kai, his stupid broken promise, and the pain she felt.
“Proceeding?” tried to guess Anna. Hoping she was mistaken. Elsa’s life, and especially her childhood, was still a whole mystery to Anna; but deep down she hoped it hadn’t been so terrible there was the need to open a legal proceeding.
“Yes," said Elsa when she heard the right word. "What is that?” Her shoulders shook, as she tried in vain to even her breathing. “It means there will be a trial, doesn't it?”
“Maybe… What does it say?” The last thing she wanted was to lie to Elsa at that moment. She needed all the information she could possibly get.
“I don't know! I don't know these words,” Elsa complained, not before cursing in silence her ignorance once again. She hated feeling so useless. New fresh tears started to fall and she hunched forward, trying to stop the storm inside.
“Elsa, calm down.” Anna rubbed her hand on her back, trying hard to ignore how cold she felt to the touch. “Do you want me to read it for you?”
It felt strange for Anna to be in that situation. Although she had been teaching Elsa for the past three months, the older girl had never shown how much not understanding things affected her. She asked questions whenever she didn’t know something, and she showed a positive attitude towards new things. But this time, Anna could see she was still learning and struggling to comprehend multiple things; she could only imagine how difficult the vocabulary used in a legal document was for her. It pained Anna to see her crying out of frustration and possibly fear for what she didn't understand.
Thinking it was best to find out what was going on, Anna began reading. Elsa was still distressed, but she knew there was no way she could help her if she didn’t make sense of what that paper said.
The first few lines where Kai simply introducing himself to someone and requesting his assistance. She continued reading until he began to describe a convicted man's current situation, and what he wanted to achieve by opening a new case against this person. The man's name was Weselton.
Anna read the name of the man once again, and tried to remember why it sounded so familiar. After a few minutes, she remembered her father yelling the man's name at the table the night the truth about Elsa came to light. And if she was not mistaken, her mother had mentioned his name too. He was the owner of the clinic where they had left Elsa all those years ago. Once she remembered, Anna became all the more interested to know what that document was about, and she was thankful Elsa trusted her enough to let her read it for her.
For a few minutes, the only thing that could be heard in the cottage was Elsa's laboured breathing as she tried to calm down and restraint her powers, while Anna read and reread the document in silence.
To Anna’s surprise, Elsa had been correct, in the document Kai detailed the main reasons to raise charges against Weselton. Kai, with the endorsement of several police officers, was elevating a petition to a certain prosecutor. He was requesting his help to reopen Elsa’s case against the doctor. He detailed compromising evidence against the man, and even mentioned the cooperation of Elsa's biological parents on the case.
At first, she couldn't believe what she was reading. The more she tried to make sense of the fact her parents were cooperating with Kai’s petition, the more difficult it was to understand. She had no idea how her parents had been able to agree to something like that. Especially since they hadn't even had the the chance to meet Elsa properly. But her mother's words resonated in her head. Just days before Idunn had said she knew Elsa didn't want anything to do with them. There was no way her mother could be so certain about that, unless… Unless they had been meeting with the Bjorgmans all that time.
The sudden realisation made Anna's blood boil. They had kept yet another secret from her, and once again their actions were going to have a terrible repercussion in Elsa’s life.
She couldn't believe her parents actions. Nonetheless, she was more stunned to find out Kai was meeting with her parents without Elsa’s consent.
"Kai wants me to speak in court, doesn't he?" Elsa’s hoarse voice interrupted her train of thoughts.
"I'm not sure." In his petition Kai made emphasis on her parents, but he never explicitly mentioned Elsa's cooperation. “He doesn’t say. But I don’t want to lie to you, Elsa. He speaks about your legal case here. You may be expected to testify if they agree to this petition... I’m sorry.”
Anna’s confirmation did nothing to help Elsa’s nervousness. On the contrary, it only increased her heart rate at the mere idea of facing a court full of people. She could picture them, waiting for her to talk about her past, to relive a childhood she wanted to forget; waiting for her to make a mistake so they could justify locking her again in a clinic to be studied, while Weselton walked away.
Noticing she was losing control of her emotions, Elsa did her best to control her body. But her breathing was becoming more and more difficult, and containing her powers was becoming painful.
At first Anna thought giving her some time to process things on her own was for the best, but her idea suddenly changed when Elsa began hyperventilating. Anna knew she had to do something - help her somehow. She had read about anxieties attacks and she was sure Elsa was having one at that moment.
She ignored the cold feeling she felt when her hand touched Elsa’s back again, and said, “Elsa, please, try to calm down. Maybe your father just wants to find a solution to whatever happened to you in the past. You haven't talked to him yet.”
It was clear Elsa wasn’t listening to her. She was once again hunching forward, her arms around her torso as if she was in unbearable pain. Not really knowing if her words were getting through, she leaned in closer and tried reasoning with her again. “Elsa breathe, please. Try to focus on-”
It shocked Anna to see Elsa stand up all and dash to the bathroom before she could finish what she was saying. “Elsa?!” she asked with worry.
Anna ran after her and entered the bathroom, her eyes narrowing with concern when she saw Elsa’s deplorable state. She was leaning over the toilet, retching, even after having emptied her stomach.
“Elsa, are you okay?” She approached her sister and held her hair as she caressed her back, trying in vain to offer some comfort.
They stayed on the bathroom floor after Elsa was able to regain some control over her body. She soon begged Anna to put some distance between them since she still couldn’t trust her powers.
After some minutes, Anna saw Elsa stand up and walk to the sink. It was unsettling to see how much her legs were trembling, yet Anna didn't approach her. She noticed Elsa was following certain steps meticulously, and she thought it was best to respect her wishes and give her some space. Something told Anna that was not the first time Elsa was enduring a nervous breakdown.
Elsa let the tap running as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was only able to wash her face a couple of times, before a layer of frost covered the sink; making it impossible for her to continue. Her fist trembled with the intent of punching the frozen water, but she thought better of it and simply left the bathroom.
Anna stayed on the bathroom floor, not being able to tear her gaze away from the frozen sink. Only a couple of days before, she had seen Elsa use and enjoy her powers at will, and now she was shocked to see them manifest without her consent.
Coming out of her stupor, she left the bathroom and soon found Elsa sitting in the middle of her bed. Arms hugging her knees tightly against her chest. She seemed more calmed but it was obvious she was still overthinking things; and Anna was certain that if she kept doing it, anxiety was going to take over her body once again.
Trusting Elsa to be alone for a minute, she went to the kitchen to get her a glass of water. Anna had noticed the frustration on her face when the water froze in the sink.
“Drink,” offered Anna when she entered the bedroom. She made an effort not to pay attention to the snowflakes that were gently falling around Elsa, covering the mattress in white powder. “It’ll help you feel better.”
“I’m sorry you had to see me like that,” said Elsa after she had emptied her glass of water. She didn't dare look at Anna in the eye though. She had been so close to lose control, and even if she had been able to restraint her powers just in time, the idea of showing her worst to Anna once again was embarrassing.
“No, no. Don’t apologise. You did nothing wrong.” Anna tentatively put her hand over Elsa's. Contrary to what she expected, Elsa didn't recoil nor beg to be left alone. “Are you feeling better?”
Elsa nodded, but she didn't say anything. Her mind was still busy worrying about the document she had found and the implications of it.
"Has this happened before?" wondered Anna.
"A couple of times." Her answer was barely audible. "When suppressing my powers becomes too much, and my anxiety gets the best of me."
Anna stayed silent, feeling there was nothing she could say to help Elsa at that moment. She desperately wanted to tell her everything was going to be okay, but she knew it was a lie.
Elsa on the other hand, exhausted after her mental breakdown, tried to get comfortable in bed; knowing it was a matter of time before she lost consciousness. She rested her head on the pillow and looked at Anna sitting next to her. A small smile appeared on her face, thankful for the girl to be by her side.
Interrupting the heavy silence, Elsa ventured say what was in her mind. "Kai knows I want to bury my past and move on… It pains me to think he’s doing this, even after he promised he wouldn’t.”
“I don’t justify what he’s doing, but maybe he’s only trying to help,” offered Anna, feeling more comfortable now that Elsa was the one starting conversation.
“There’s no guarantee they’ll find Weselton guilty. For all I know I may be the only one affected by all this.” Her voice was weak and muffled. She could feel her body begging for some rest, even if her mind was still troubled with Kai betraying her trust and everything that could happen in the future.
Anna stayed silent for a few minutes, looking into space. There was nothing she wanted more than to help Elsa, but there was little she could do in her situation. How could she offer some comforting words if she had no idea what Kai was talking about in his petition? How could she stand by Elsa’s side if she didn’t know what had happened to her in the past? What if Kai was truly doing the best thing for her, and Elsa’s fear was too much to let her see that?
Finally making up her mind to what she needed to do, Anna found the courage and said, “Elsa, I can see how hard this is for you. And I want you to know I'm here to help in anything you need. But I can't do that if I don't let me in.” She took a deep breath and asked, “what did Weselton do? What happened to you?”
When Elsa didn’t answer, Anna turned to look at her. And to her surprise, she found her sound asleep. It was only then, she noticed the dark bags under her eyes and how truly tired she looked. Anna half-smiled and soon found a blanket for her - she guessed the truth about the past could wait yet another night.
Noticing it was already past midnight, she climbed into bed next to her sister. Her mind was still processing everything that had happened, and she hoped to sleep for at least a few hours.

Eddie and Christopher for the character asks?
I’m gonna try and do their relationship rather than their individual characters (because I could never think of a reason why I don’t like Christopher)
Why I like them they are a really adorable example of a perfectly imperfect father-son dynamic. They are physically affectionate, they make mistakes but try to be honest with one another.
Why I don’t this is mostly on the writers/time-constraints of the episode but I am constantly wondering how Eddie can afford things and where Christopher spends his time. Parenting as a single father is hard enough - parenting a child with a disability when you’re going from army benefits to a poorly paying city job...are we sure he had nothing to do with the diamond heist?
Favorite episode (scene if movie) THERE ARE SO MANY MOMENTS BETWEEN THEM! My favourite episode for them has to be Stuck (2x04). It was the first time we got a proper glimpse into their dynamic and home life. We saw how much Eddie loves his son, how much Christopher trusts his dad; their adorable morning routine lives in my heart.
Favorite season/movie despite that, Season 3 gave us a lot more. From Eddie’s flashbacks, we know how observant and innocent that kid is - holy shit - and Eddie’s talk with Christopher about how everyone has limitations + Christopher not wanting his dad to feel sad (AND EDDIE TELLING HIM THAT HIS EMOTIONS ARE VALID). I’m so glad all the kids became full cast members in S3 because we got more little moments like that.
Favorite line Favourite Interaction: “We still got each other which means we’re gonna be okay.” “I love you, daddy.” - the love and devotion of these two. Gah!
Favorite outfit What kind of question is this? The suits, obviously. Both of them in their dress pants and ties. Too cute to handle.
OTP I ship Eddie and Christopher with Happiness
Brotp Buck. Obvious answer. Remember that troll from Frozen that took one look at Kristoff and Sven as was like “cuties, I’m gonna keep you”. That’s what happened.
Head Canon the night of his first real heartbreak, he crawls into bed with his dad and in the morning, they go out for breakfast and order endless pancakes until Christopher finds his smile again.
Unpopular opinion “Superman” is not a nickname. It’s the name of the stretch Christopher was doing. Eddie does not call his son Superman.
A wish I want to see Eddie dealing with Christopher’s first S/O. Like, asking someone to the dance. Because a) mainstream television needs more help normalizing disabilities and everyday things, and b) watching Eddie freak out over his son and having the firefam calm him, will be the cutest thing ever.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen Not a single episode is allowed to hurt Christopher ever again. No high-stakes surgeries, no more going missing, nothing where they imply that he might die. Because I still trust these writers not to kill their main characters but if they break that in any way - or put too many children in danger - my heart will explode.
5 words to best describe them Trust. Unconditional. Hard-working. Love. Together.
My nickname for them My Babies! (to be fair: most of the firefam are my babies. But they are My Babies)

For the character list: Jin and Horobi.
Okay. I got multiples of these two.
And you know what, I’m in such need of MBJR therapy, I’m just gonna answer all of them separately and uniquely.
Jin
favorite thing about them: Him. Just… Him.
least favorite thing about them: How long he’s been gone…
favorite line: That time he yelled ‘Bye-bye’ when fleeing a fight.
brOTP: For a character he actually had a friendly relationship w/, Ansatsu-chan. For a character I wish he could have a friendly relationship w/, Izu.
OTP: None. See below.
nOTP: Everyone. Pre-ep 25 Jin is baby w/ the mentality of a five-year-old, and I’m just not comfortable w/ that. Still not really feeling it for post-ep 25 Jin, either, honestly.
random headcanon: The pink rope on his original outfit was a gift from Horobi after Jin found some pink flowers around Daybreak, but then got sad when they wilted. Horobi sought out something that was the same colour to try and comfort him. Per the will of the Ark, of course. Totally.
unpopular opinion: Uh… Well, not sure how unpopular it is, but I personally like his new look.
song i associate with them: The Next Right Thing from Frozen II
favorite picture of them: I don’t have one specific favourite, but I will share one of the many I have.
Tumblr media
Horobi
favorite thing about them: Also just him. I love him so much.
least favorite thing about them: How he has hardly had any development beyond being a tool of the Ark.
favorite line: ‘Jin, you are my son.’
brOTP: Toei can either make my imaginary Wolf Dad and Scorpion Dad friendship happen, or I will do it for him.
OTP: None. Again, not really a ‘one true pairing’ person.
nOTP: The Ark. I did this to myself, but the Ark. Also Gai.
random headcanon: Horobi is actually quite fond of animals, esp strays and abandoned pets, bc he identifies with them being cast aside by humans who grew tired of them. It’s something the Ark can’t quite stomp out, no matter how hard she tries.
unpopular opinion: Again, not sure if it’s technically ‘unpopular’ but give him a redemption arc, Toei, or die by my sword. And I have a sword. It’s not sharp, but I have one.
song i associate with them: Angel With a Shotgun by The Cab
favorite picture of them: This one will always have a special place w/ me… There’s a reason it’s my header.

Can I request for an Au fae for my brotp Matsumomo please!?or Hitsuhina hehehe. If your request is closed it's ok ;) Happy Anniversary too for your blog! xoxo
Reunions
Rating: K
Setting: This AU wasoriginally created by @tinaillustrations. While I do recommend reading the previous fic I wrote for it, you can learn about the fae world it’s set in by reading the notes part of it here.
Synopsis: Months after Toshiro returned to the Frozen Heavens, Momo decides to reunitehim with the friend who helped him get up there in the first place. A sequel to ‘Worlds Apart’.
AN: This took FARtoo long. However it’s good to be writing for this AU again! It took me alittle while to flesh out this story, but I got there. I’ve tried to make it a balance between Rangiku and Momo’s friendship and Hitsuhina with a hint of brotp Hitsumatsu. I had to cut a lot fromit as well; as a result, I will probably end up writing a part 3 for this AU. I also have no doubt that, despite my best efforts, I have missed several typos. Withall of that out of the way, I hope everyone and you, @tinaillustrations, enjoythis one!
_________________________
Momo sneaks through the long grass, crouching as far she canwithout losing her balance. The green blades bend over the sprite in arches, much taller than her as she steps around small rocks and pebbles in her way. Whenher dress snags on a stray twig, she pulls at the skirt free. Need to fix this.
She scans around for cover and quickly darts behind a largerock. She grabs the ends of her dress and ties them all to one corner, makingthe skirt come to her thigh midway. She takes the moment to think up of astrategy. She needs to change the feeling of the air around her - she needs tomake her opponents feel like they are one being hunted, not her.
When a twig snaps, the hairs on the back of her neck riseand she sweeps around, hands raised to cast fire.
Nothing.
The sprite lets out a breath, but doesn’t relax. She turnsaround back to the rock, and a dangerous idea creeps in. As quietly and quicklyas she can manage she races up the rock until she’s on top. She can see abovemost of the long grass. The wind blows through the clearing, swaying the grassblades and the leaves in the surrounding trees. Several leaves, coloureddifferent shades of autumn, break free from the branches and dance on thewind’s currents. If not for her current situation, she might have taken amoment to appreciate this peaceful scene.
Her eyes snap to a movement in the grass. A few meters away,a bunch of blades move in the opposite direction of the wind, and she sees aflash of blonde for a fraction of a second. Without hesitation, Momo leaps offthe rock, and upon landing, sprints behind her cover. Below the shivering ofthe grass and the rustling of the leaves, she can hear her opponent’s approachingfootsteps. Momo’s reigns in her glow, the orange shrinking into her untilthere’s only the faintest light radiating a few centimetres from her body. Herheart races and adrenaline bolts through her, making her want to dart outbefore the opportune time.
Wait, she ordersher body. Just wait a few more seconds.
Her opponent stops. Momo can’t tell how far away she is. Fireburns to the surface of her arms, gathering in her fists and pulsing along her torso.
She can’t stay any longer.
She darts out, eyes immediately locking on to the blondefairy a few feet away. She brings her wrists together and throws her handsopen, aiming at her opponent and crying out, “Snap!”
A fireball shoots out from her hands towards her opponent, who grunts when she flings herself away. However, though the fire grazes hershoulder, it’s not enough to stop her arc upward towards the rock. The fairyMomo doesn’t stop; as soon as she lands on her feet, she’s darting to the otherside, away from the rock, anticipating an attack. Eyes on her opponent, shecasts another fireball her way. This one curves away, hitting and singeing agrass blade behind. The fairy lands on the rock, but just as quickly flipsbehind it.
Momo rushes around, only to find her opponent gone. Just asshe curses, she looks to the ground. Before she can react, the circle of ashrushes up and around her, and from behind her, her opponent shouts out hercommand. “Growl!”
Momo spins around, just in time to see the fairy throw herarm out the side, manipulating the ash to start twirling around the sprite.Everything beyond the spiralling ash vanishes; she can only see thick coils ofwhite and grey, and hear the rushing, crackling currents circling around her.Momo conjures up flame and shouts out her command. The tornado gets fast, theair thinner. Momo’s flames snuff out, and the smoke from them gets caught up onthe ashes swirling around her.
Cringing, she throws her head back in defeat. “I give up!”she calls breathlessly above the tornado.
The ashes disperse seconds later, swirling and flying outacross the area, landing amongst the dirt. Momo doubles over, trying to catchher breath. Her triumphant opponent, Rangiku Matsumoto, saunters up to her andbends down until she meets the fairy’s blue-grey eyes.
“There’s still a lot for you to work on, but you did greatoverall,” Rangiku says, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Momo shakes her head as she straightens back up. She untiesher dress skirt, the orange and red material swishing around her legs back to itsoriginal knee length. “You really think so?”
The fairy nods. “Definitely. If you can learn not to dartout on impulse, you’ll be formidable. Regardless, you’re a lot better than whenI last trained with you.”
Momo smiles warily. “Well, I have been training more thanusual, so I would hope I’ve improved even at least a little.”
Rangiku leans back “Is that so? Why’ve you been training?”
“I want to become a fairy.”
“Yes, I know that, but you’ve been doing that by training asmuch as you usually do…” Rangiku smirks ruefully and looks to the side.“Which is a lot even by most fairy standards.”
“Nothing has changed really,” Momo says. “It’s just that…Ialso want to be able to see someone.”
At this the fairy’s eyes widen and she cocks a brow. “Oh?”
Momo grins. “Actually, he’s -” Her stomach growls. Shesqueaks as a blush colours her cheeks. She didn’t realise how hungry she was.
Rangiku chuckles. “I’m pretty hungry myself.”
Momo nods. “We’ll continue training after eating.”
“How about we work on attacking larger opponents next?”
“How large are we talking exactly?”
Rangiku’s grins as she rolls her wrists and flares out herfingers. Momo watches her friend grow and shift in several seconds back to heroriginal size. The sprite cranes her head back with a nervous laugh, lookingher now gigantic friend over from head to toe. Rangiku Matsumoto, a fairy ofboth fire and air. Her hair, previously tied back in a loose bun, now comesdown past her shoulders. The mid-thigh pink dress she wears accentuatesher curves, and the coat tails flow behind her with each step.Tied to her left hip by a silver chain is a pink chrysanthemum – a ‘memento’from her childhood friend that she wore for as long as Momo has known her. Finally, there were her wings – shaped like a dragonfly’s and transparent, iridescent in the light.
Rangiku bends over and holds out her hand, which Momo jumpson to before the fairy rises back to her full height. She brushes her hairaside and lets the sprite sit on her shoulder before starting for the riversidegardens. From up here, the world seems even bigger to Momo. She can see thegardens and river just on the horizon, and all around them are fire and airfae, either shouting taunts as they train together or laughing as they playwith each other.
“So, who’s this someone you want to see?”
At her friend’s suggestive smirk, the sprite vigorouslyshakes her head as her cheeks heat up and her glow brightens. “It’s not likethat!”
“Oh, it isn’t?”
“Yes, really!”
“No need to get soflustered. It’s about time you got a crush.”
“Rangiku!”
With a chuckle, Rangiku’s smirk turns to a curious smile.“Okay, in all seriousness, who is it?”
With a sigh, Momo calms down, the heat in her face slowlyfading. She looks to the sky, clear and blue like any other day. She thenbrings her gaze to the far distant gathered clouds around the towering MountElm, which seem to be permanent fixtures in masking the snow capped peak.Staring at the mountain always brings about a meagre longing in the sprite; onethat served as fuel to her training.
“It’s Hitsugaya Toshiro.”
Rangiku tilts her head back in thought and purses her lips. “Thatname sounds familiar.”
Momo’s heart skips a beat. She clenches her hands intofists, trying to hold back her anticipation. “It should. You’ve met himbefore!”
She frowns. “I have? What does he look like?”
“He’s around my age in appearance - probably a bit younger. He has white hair and blue-green eyes and wears blue robes.”
The fairy’s eyes widening and her brows almost reach herhairline. “Oh!”
Momo claps her hands. “You remember?”
“Yeah! He’s the guardian over at the Kotowari Mountains.”Rangiku’s frown returns as Momo shakes her head. “But I thought his name was‘Jushiro’, not ‘Toshiro’. Have I been getting it wrong this whole time?”
“No, not him!” Momo pipes up. “Ukitake Jushiro is a waterguardian. Hitsugaya Toshiro is an ice guardian.”
Rangiku comes to a stop, her mouth agape. “How do you knowhim? If he’s an ice guardian, he could have snuffed you out.”
Momo looks down to see they’ve reached their destination. There are only a few groups of fairies, pixies, and sprites around the gardens, snacking on the vegetation while chatting amongst themselves.
“His powers are weaker in the summer and when he is awayfrom the Heavens,” Momo says while Rangiku picks up her up and settles down infront of a grapevine. “He isn’t anything like rumours say…Well, not entirely, anyway.”
“What rumours?” Rangiku asks. “I don’t think I’ve ever heardof him.”
While the two gather up various fruit and vegetables to eat,Momo recounts how she met Toshiro and led him back home. How he was stoic butkind, and how he saved her from the rain. When she comes to the parts aboutToshiro’s past, she and Rangiku as sitting under a peach tree, feasting on whatthey had gathered.
“If he hadn’t met that fairy who told him to go the FrozenHeavens, he may have never discovered what he was.” Momo’s heart races when shelooks up at her friend. “He says the fairy was you.”
Rangiku stops mid bite into her persimmon. She blinks, herwidened eyes staring out to Mount Elm’s clouds. It’s a moment later when sheslowly pulls the fruit away and chews on the chunk she bit out. Momo purses herlips while watching her friend. What if Rangiku didn’t remember? What would shetell Toshiro the next time they saw each other?
“That kid…” The fairy lets out a confused laugh. “That kidreally became a guardian?”
Momo leans forward, hope rising. “So you do remember him?”
“Yes, I…I just hadn’t thought about him in a long time.” Shesmiles with a shake of her head. “It’s been decades since I saw him, but Istill remember his aura. It was so cold, I shivered just standing next to him!It was unlike anything I have ever sensed.” She tilts her head back towardsMount Elm. “So he took my advice and went to the Frozen Heavens…”
“He says the only reason he became a guardian was to protecthis grandmother. He thinks she’d be dead by now if you hadn’t advised him,”Momo says. “He says he owes you for that.”
Rangiku’s lips part as she considers Momo’s words. Somethinghad hit home with her friend, something Momo couldn’t read. She is about to askwhen Rangiku offers her hand to Momo, who climbs on and is brought up to thefairy’s eye level.
“You said he believesthe rumours about himself to an extent,” Rangiku says. “When you last saw him,how was he?”
Momo attempts to smile to ease her friend’s concern. “Heseemed happy to be going back home. I wanted to see what the Heavens were like, but I’m not strong enough against the cold.”
“And that’s why you’ve been training a lot more, isn’t it?”
The sprite nods. “I want to be able to see him. He’s alone alot of the time up there and could use a friend.” She interlaces her fingerstogether. “It’s also the reason why I sent that letter to you asking you tocome here and train with me. I wanted to tell you about him so that you couldsee him again…if you wanted to.”
She remembers back to a few months ago when she keptrewriting the letter, deciding one minute to reveal her encounter with Toshirothen deciding against it. In the end, she had just invited Rangiku to trainwith her. The letter of reply almost a month from her friend, she haddiscovered the higher fae were organising training between the air and firefae.
The sprite is brought out of her memories when a small smileshapes the fairy’s lips. “That’s sweet of you. I’d love to see him! Did you twoarrange for a day to meet up again?”
“Uh, no.”
“Well, what are wewaiting for? How do we contact him?”
“Um, actually…” Momo rubs her arm with a rueful smile. “Wenever established a way we could communicate with each other. I think it wasjust going to be a matter of if he was ever around he could come visit me.”
Rangiku gaps down at the sprite. “Are you serious?! If he’san ice guardian, he can only come down during winter, and that’s only for threemonths in a whole year! You two will never be in regular contact then.”
Momo sighs and sits down in her friend’s palm. “I thought Icould wait until he chose to come down, but recently I’ve regretted not settingsomething up. We were in such a rush to get him back to Heavens neither of usthought of it, I guess.” She twists around to gaze at Mount Elm. “He shouldreally focus on his guardianship duties. I wouldn’t want to interfere withthem.”
“He can’t always be being his duties. He needs a break evernow and then, don’t you think?” the fairy chuckles. “I mean, just look at howour guardians are. When they get overworked they either explode or burnout.”
That brings a temporary smile back to Momo’s face. Shefrowns when a thought occurs to her. “How do the higher level fae communicatewith the Frozen Heavens?”
Rangiku leans back against the tree, thinking. “I’m notsure, I’ve never had to go anywhere near the Heaves before to deliver a message…”She perks up. “But I do know someone who has.”
“Who?”
The fairy grins. “You’ve got some parchment and ink back atthe outpost, right?”
______
“Hitsugaya?”
The said guardian straightens at hearing his name. His eyeswiden when he sees Rukia Kuchiki approaching him.
Her white hair and grey robes sway with each step she takestowards him. When she descends to Mount Kuchiki, however, her hair darkens toblack, and her robes turn navy blue and purple. It was a strange phenomenon, asif she belonged in both worlds. Deep down and much to his shame, there weretimes when Toshiro envied her for it. With his hair and eyes, he stands outlike a sore thumb in the world below.
He puts down the half made miniature ice sculpture and standsup from the large rock he sits on. “Kuchiki,” he acknowledges.
She smiles faintly and bows her head respectfully. She looksover his shoulder, no doubt to one of the projects he’s been working on.“Sculpting again?”
Wanting to draw her attention away from them, he chooses torespond with a question.  “What are youdoing here? I thought you were going to be with Kuchiki and Abarai for the nextfew months.”
“Yes, I am. However…” She extends her hand out him, and inher grasp is a piece of folded parchment. “This came for you from the worldbelow.”
Toshiro’s frown deepens. He’s so unused to receiving things, especially from the world below. He makes no move to take it from her. “What isit?”
“A letter, or so I’ve been told. It came from Ichimaru Gin.”She says the name with distaste, as if she had drunk something sour. Toshiroknew she found him creepy, and he himself did not like the air guardian.
Because of this, he eyes the letter with suspicion. “Haveyou read it?”
Rukia shakes her head. “It’s addressed to you. He says it’sfrom his ‘air friend’.”
He reluctantly takes the parchment from her. “What fae wouldbe friends with him?”
“He didn’t say.” She withdraws her hand back to her side “Hecame to the top of Mount Kuchiki and gave it my brother. It’s not often he goesto such lengths for something like this…it’s strange.”
Toshiro nods and grunts in agreement, but doesn’t look upfrom the letter. He turns over his hands, stopping when he finds his namescrawled across one of the folds. He bows his head. “Thank you delivering this,Kuchiki.”
She bows in return. “Please tell me if it’s anything malicious,Hitsugaya, and I will let my brother know.”
“I will.”
Her small smile returns. “Until we see each other again.” Herwings start to form as she steps away from Toshiro. He watches his fellow iceguardian take off towards the thick band of clouds above, and then arch towardthe horizon far off in the distance.
Once she’s out of sight, he takes his place back on the rockand, after some hesitation, opens the letter:
Dear HitsugayaToshiro,
This is MatsumotoRangiku writing on behalf of Hinamori Momo from the southern fire outpost.
He stops. He rereads the first sentence again, eyes wideningonce he reaches the full-stop.  Momo…and Rangiku. They’ve written to him, to him. Hereads on, heart racing a fraction faster:
We would like toinvite you to come back to the river where you and Momo ate on the morning ofyour journey to Mount Elm. We realise you may only be able to come back duringwinter, so please tell us which part of the month would best suit you.
We’re both excited tosee you!
-Hinamori Momo andMatsumoto Rangiku
He frowns at the red balm kiss in the corner. Those werecertainly not Momo’s lips, and even if they were, it would be uncharacteristicof her to do this…He shakes his head, heat creeping up into his cheeks. Whywould he even think about her lips? He reads the letter again and again andagain, until he’s sure he has it memorised. He can’t believe the sprite reallywent through with her wish to reunite him with the fairy. She did that forhim…but could he really go back down there?
The ice guardian looks at his surroundings. The barren, coldFrozen Heavens were a far cry from the lush, warm world below. Sometimes helooks at the bare, skeletal trees and briefly sees them as the ones in theforest he and Momo journeyed through. He can see the green leaves, the brown trunks, and the various birds that occupied them. In rare moments he could faintly heartheir tweeting.
It still surprises him how much he misses the worldbelow…and Momo.
He stands as a thought occurs to him. With a frustratedsigh, he heads for nearest mountain to request for writing tools. I’m going to have to ask Gin to deliver aletter for me, aren’t I?

Momo shifts from one foot to the other while wringing herhands and tugging on the sleeves of her woollen dress, trying to release asmuch nervous energy as she could. Past the piece of bark she used to over theentrance to her cubby, the first snow was falling outside. Her fellow fire faewere wise enough to not have any plans to go out today, but she (perhaps foolishly)did. Over and over in her head, she hopes that things go just as she plans.
She looks to folded scrap of paper in the corner. Whenunfolded it was twice her size and its messy writing was the same size as hertorso. Her heart races just remembering the day she received and read it forthe first time:
Hinamori,
I will try to make tomeet you both at the river gardens when the first snow falls.
Hitsugaya Toshiro
“Hey, Momo, you still in there?”
The sprite perks up at hearing her friend. She moves thebark aside and peaks out. Rangiku is kneeling down, a white fleece shawlcovering her neck and shoulders. She wears a different dress today; this one isthe colours of autumn – browns, reds, and oranges – and comes down to justabove her knees. Momo cringes against the sting of cold that floods into hercubby and grabs her own shawl. She tightly holds around her shoulders as shesteps out into the winter’s day. “You’re just in time, Rangiku.”
The fairy smiles and offers her a hand. “Let’s go.”
The two head to the river gardens, journeying through thinsheets of mist and lazy snowfall. Their breaths fog in the morning air and thecold stings the tips of their noses and fingers. Momo is half tucked under herfriend’s shawl to avoid the snow. She could tolerate a few flakes, but anymorethan that and it could snuff her out.
Small clinking sounds draw Momo attention downward. Attachedto the chain on Rangiku’s hip is an empty lantern – a safety measure in casethe cold became too much for Momo. The sprite looks down at it now, hoping theywon’t have to use it. She had waited for two months for this reunion and shedidn’t want to spend it in a lantern the whole time.
“Have you eaten breakfast yet?” Momo asks, trying todistract herself.
Rangiku nods. “Back at my outpost. And you?”
“I have, but it wasn’t much. Most the plants we relied onperished during the last month of autumn. We’ve been relying on the earth faeat the nearest outpost to supply us with food ever since. They’re willing tosupply us with just enough to get by, so we have to ration out the foodequally.” Momo sighs. “It’s making some of us agitated.”
Rangiku frowns. “Those jerks, they’re always so stingy. HasRaika talked with the earth outpost?”
“She’s negotiating, but nothing has come through so far.”
Her friend lets out a concerned hum and bows her head. “Idon’t know many earth fae, so I don’t think I can help you out.”
Momo pats the palm beneath her and smiles. “It’s all right,Raika will figure something out.” She looks ahead.  “But enough about that. We have to greetHitsugaya when he arrives.”
They stop at the sound of distant thunder. It’s impossible, how could there be thunder? They both look to the sky, but there’s no sign ofanything out of the ordinary.
Until, Rangiku grunts in surprise. “There!”
The fairy points towards the tree line far away. A wingedgrey silhouette descends from the clouds, nose diving several metres beforespreading their wings and arching their body into a glide. Momo gasps at thesight, her fists coming to her chest as she watches the figure circle and twirlthrough the air. “It’s him!”
Rangiku shakes her head in bewilderment. “I don’t think anyother kind of fae would be crazy enough to fly like that in this weather.”
Momo doesn’t hear her, too focused on Toshiro as hisfeatures become clearer the closer he gets. His head is turning in alldirections, until his eyes land on them. He angles himself downward, and by thetime he reaches the tree line, he throws his feet out to land. With powerfulflaps of his wings, he softens his landing on the bank of the frozen-overriver. When he locks his eyes with them , he freezes.
Momo is too astonished to call out to him, and he appears tobe that way too. Everything about him is as she remembers – the spikes of whitehair, the icy blue-green eyes, his ice-made pointed ears, his blue and greenrobes, the lilac sash that swayed and curled around him like a tail, and theends of his limbs encased in paper-thin layers of ice.
Her gaze stops at his wings. They were identical to those ofthe dragons she carved into the murals back at her outpost; broad andreptilian, and completely made from thick, clear ice. Like a moth to a flame, she has to resist the urge to go forward and touch them.
He’s really here. He really came…
Deep down she had her doubt he would ever show up again. Some part of her - ingrained into her since she was sparked to life - hadthought, ‘He’s a guardian, why would he want to see a sprite like you?’ But shealways shook it off, having faith that she knew him beyond his title enough toknow he would return.
To see him herebefore her, looking at her the way he does, is enough to silence that part ofher for good.
She breaks from her reverie when he takes a step towardsthem and his wings start to dissolve away. “Hinamori, and…Matsumoto?”
Oh, it was good to hear his voice again. She grins and leansas far as she can over Rangiku’s fingers. “Hitsugaya!” She looks up at thefairy, who is just as astonished as Momo was a moment ago. The sprite lightlypinches her friend’s finger. “Rangiku?”
Her friend blinks, breaking from her trance. “Eh, sorry.”She manages a smile towards the ice guardian.
Toshiro moves towards them, but before they can meet himhalfway, a strong gust of wind blows through the clearing. Rangiku grunts andbrings Momo closer, tucking her under her shawl. Momo shivers, huddling intothe white fleece and wincing against the cold. The snow fall thickens, catchingon to Rangiku’s clothes and swaying tall grass.
“Do you need the lantern?” Rangiku asks.
The sprite hesitates, peering up at her friend. “I…”
“What’s wrong?”
Momo can’t see, but she heard the concern in Toshiro’svoice. Rangiku turns her focus back to him. “Momo doesn’t do well in the snow.”She juts out her hip and starts to unclip the lantern with her free hand. “Webrought this just in case she became overwhelmed by the weather.”
Momo scrambles to stand up. “Wait, Rangiku!”
Rangiku frowns. “I know, but we need to do this.”
“I won’t be able to talk to Hitsugaya properly if I’m inthere.”
“But if we don’t-”
“Hold on a moment.”
The two fae turn their gazes back to the ice guardian. Hecloses his eyes and raises a hand to the sky. Momo recognises the stance fromwhen they were taking shelter from the rain. While Rangiku tilts her head inconfusion at the guardian, Momo looks to the surrounding snow, knowing what wasabout to happen.
“Reign over the Frozen Heavens.”
There’s a quiver of power in the clearing, and sure enough, the snowfall lessens and the winds die down. However, Momo gasps when thespecks of white slow in their descent and then freeze mid-air. Rangiku turnsthem around in all directions while voicing her bewilderment and awe. Allaround them, time had seemingly frozen.
“My power can only affect a three mile radius,” Toshiroexplains, opening his eyes and lowering his hand. “Outside of that, the snowcontinues to fall.”
“You’ve become reallystrong, huh?” Rangiku murmurs, too awed by her surroundings. “I remember when Ifirst met you, I thought you had almost reached your full potential.” Sheraises her free palm to cup a snowflake. “Seems I was wrong…”
Momo looks to Toshiro, once again amazed by the power hepossesses. His lips part after Rangiku trails off, as if to say something, butnothing comes forth. Rangiku also looks like she wants to continue, butdoesn’t. The sprite purses her lips. It’s time to enact her plan.
She emerges from behind Rangiku’s shawl. “A three mileradius you say?”
Toshiro strides closer and nods. “Yes, why?”
Momo shuffles to the edge of Rangiku’s hand, her tentativesmile wobbly with the shiver running through her.  “There are caves about a mile away. We wereplanning on going there to escape the snow and wind and make a fire. Eventhough the snow has stopped, it’s still rather cold for me.” She presses herhands together in a pleading gesture. “If it’s all right with you, could weplease go there?”
Toshiro’s frown deepens. “You should have so sooner. Leadthe way.”
Rangiku raises a brow down at Momo. It’s a look that tellsMomo, ‘this wasn’t part of the plan you had laid out to me the week before’.Then, something clicks in the fairy head and she smirks. “I see what you’redoing,” she whispers to her.
Before she can say anything, Momo is thrust out towardsToshiro, who blinks with a grunt .
“Here, she wants to lead you,” Rangiku says.
Momo blinks. “Oh, no! That isn’t necessary, Rangiku.” Shepats her friend’s finger tip. “You can lead the way, right? You know the cavesI’m talking about.”
“Ah, but where’s the fun in that? I’ll go ahead while youlead him. You two have a lot to catch up on, right?”
Momo stares up at Toshiro, rubbing her hands together. Thisisn’t at all what she had in mind, this day wasn’t supposed to be about them. It’s why she hates that she isn’t completely opposed to this change of plan.
Toshiro tilts his head to the side, trying to gauge theshivering sprite. “It wouldn’t be wise to hold you in this weather.”
His aura was chilling when they first met, but even fromwhere she stands, Momo can feel its frosty magnitude. Without a doubt, thisweather combined with his aura risked extinguishing her. “I agree.”
Rangiku pouted. “Well, that’s a shame.”
Momo tries to shove down the disappointment blooming in herchest. If she isn’t mistaken, she also sees a hint of it in Toshiro’s gaze. “IfI’m near a fire it’ll be okay,” Momo reassures the both of them. “Come,Rangiku, lead the way.”
___________________
The journey to the caves is mostly quiet, save for theoccasional question Momo throws out there to start a conversation - asking Toshiro about how the Heavens have been, how he got writing materials to send her a letter, and if the winter in this world affected the weather in the Heavens. Rangikutalks about her outpost and her power over ash – which she promises to give ademonstration of once the fire was lit by Momo.
However, Momo notices something. Although Rangiku is her bubblyand chatty self, she can sense a little hesitance within her friend. Toshiro’sreactions, however, are no surprise to her; his answers are short and unsure, much like when they first met.
Why did they feel this way around each other? Granted, it’sbeen years since they last saw each other, and if Toshiro’s account of eventswas anything to go by, they didn’t exactly spend a lot of time together to knowone another. If she can get to the next stage of her plan, Momo hopes they canfinally start to feel more comfortable around each other.
At the cave is the small pile of kindling, sticks, and rocksMomo had collected in the few days prior. When Rangiku let’s her down, shebegins work on setting up the fire. The fairy helps her while Toshiro stands atthe mouth of the cave, gazing out into the time-frozen winter landscape. Fromthe corner of her eye, Momo swears she can see him pushing snowflakes along byhis clawed finger tip. She’s unable to suppress a smile.
Rangiku arranges rocks in a circle while Momo makes a conefrom the wood and dried leaves. Her friend stands back once the cone incomplete. “All right, light ‘er up!”
Momo chuckles while climbing over on to a rock. Shestretches out her hands, directing them at the kindling within the cone.“Snap!”
The small fireball hits the dry leaves and twigs, and withinseconds engulfs them. As the first few crackles start to echo around the cave,Momo steps off the rock.
“Okay, I’ve got it started.” She looks over her shoulder atthe taller fae and smiles ruefully. “I-If it’s not too much trouble, could youperhaps go find some more wood? I think we, uh…need to make it bigger forRangiku.”
At this the fairy frowns. “I’m fine, this weather doesn’treally affect me.”
“But you’re still cold, no?”
“Well, yeah, but-”
“Then we need a bigger fire.” The two of them look back toToshiro in surprise. He steps away from the cave wall, gaze falling on Rangiku.“Come on, let’s go find some wood.”
Momo’s eyes widen further. She hadn’t expected him to reactlike this. If anything, she thought Rangiku would be the one to push for thetwo of them to go on the search. He couldn’t have already figured her plan…couldhe?
“That almost sounded like an order,” Rangiku murmurs with aconfused smile. However, she turns her attention to Momo. “I guess it’s settledthen. We’ll be back soon.”
Momo nods. “Sure! I’ll be right here.”

Their feet crunch in the dirt and dried foliage. It’s theonly sound to have passed between them in the past several minutes.Occasionally they stop to pick up a wood, each with their own growing bundle intheir hands.
However, after Rangiku bends down and picks up a branchtrapped between the roots of a tree, she lists her head towards the guardian. He’sa metre away searching through shrubs, oblivious to his gaze. Save for thelonger hair and different clothes, he is exactly how she remembered inappearance. In personality, she couldn’t say the same. She has seen glimpses ofit – the same rudeness, honesty, and straight-to-the-point answers – but hecertainly wasn’t the same child she had seen that day.
A small part of Rangiku is glad Momo isn’t around right now.She had things she only wanted to say to Toshiro, and if his reactions to Momowere anything to go by, the sprite would be the centre of his focus. Rangikuisn’t entirely sure what Momo is up to – because she clearly was up to something – but she wasn’t going to letthis opportunity she’s given her go to waste. But where should she start? Didshe have to wait for him to start?
She straightens just as he does, and doesn’t flinch when hesuddenly turns to her. Without breaking away from their held gaze, he adds thebranch to his bundle. When neither say anything, his frown deepens. “Why areyou staring at me?”
Rangiku shrugs her discomfort away. “No reason. It’s juststrange seeing a guardian picking up sticks in the forest.”
He quirks a brow, maintain his gaze a moment longer beforeresuming his task. “Guardians aren’t above doing these sorts of tasks.”
She chuckles. “You clearly haven’t talked to other guardiansthen. The air ones think they’re above most menial tasks like this.”
He pulls a long branch “They’re fools if they think thatway.” She can’t help but smile at that. At least they have that incommon. Just as she is about to start searching for wood again, hespeaks. “Before we go on…there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
Rangiku bites the inside of her lip before speaking. “I dotoo.” She holds her hand up to stop him. “If it’s all right with you…could I gofirst?”
That stuns him for a moment, but he eventually nods. Sheimagines guardians aren’t used to be being spoken to like that, but she has never been afraid to speak her mind or be herself aroudn anone, regardless of their rank. She takes a seat on the tree roots andpats the space next to her. After a hesitant moment, he joins her.
His expression is one of stoic patience, which eases hernerves a fraction. Releasing the breath she holds, she finally speaks. “Momotells me you feel you owe me for guiding you towards the Heavens.”
He blinks, then darts his gaze to the foliage beneath hisfeet. It’s all the confirmation she needs and she presses on.
“She also told me about the rumours surrounding you. I havenever encountered them…or  I might have, but not remember they were about you. In any event, you don’t have aparticularly good reputation here it seems.” She leans her head back to thesky, her hair fall behind her shoulders. “I’m sorry for that…no deserves to betreated like that.” She swallows against the growing tightness in her throat.“With all that said, you owe me nothing. I only did what I thought was right atthe time. However, there’s also a part of me that wonders if I just led youfrom life of solitude to another.” She lets out a brief, nervous chuckle.“Silly, I know…because in the end, I would have done it anyway.”
“You misunderstand.”
She’s surprised by how quickly he responded. She expectedhim to weigh on her words, but he instead turns to her, determination flashing inhis eyes.
“I’ve wanted to thankyou for guiding me toward the Frozen Heavens,” he elaborates. “If you hadn’t, Iwould never have discovered I was one of the fae, let alone that I was lettingmy powers get out of control and killing my grandmother.” He swallows againstthe tightness growing in his throat. “My journey up there was a harsh one, andI almost didn’t make it. However, with all of this said…” He straightens hisshoulders and bows his head to her. “Thank you, Matsumoto Rangiku. I owe forshowing me my true nature and for saving the life of my grandmother.”
It was a struggle for him to open up like that, sherealises. She’s stunned. When she doesn’t say anything, he’s almost hasty toadd on, “I’m aware that some guardians feel burdened for owing others. Owingyou isn’t a burden, so don’t you dare think otherwise. Then, it’s as if arealisation strikes him. “Or is it perhaps…?”
“Perhaps what?” she pries when he doesn’t continue.
“Perhaps you wouldn’t want…” He’s struggling again, and it’sup to her to figure out what he wants to say. It doesn’t take her long when shesees shame flash through his expression.
“You can’t be serious…” She folds her arms and frowns. “Youreally think I wouldn’t want a favour from you because of who the rumours sayyou are?!”
He gives her cursory glance before turning his gaze to theground. “They’re not all false.”
“As if!”
“How would you know? This is only the third time we’ve met!”
“It’s all I need.” It’s been a long time since she was thisannoyed. He truly believed what others said about him…and, as silly as it is,she can’t help but feel slightly responsible for it. She can’t let thiscontinue.
She stands, hands on her hips, and bends down to catch hisgaze. “I told you before. I only did it because I thought it was the rightthing to do. It was the right thing for you and your grandmother. Guardian ornot, rumours or not, I still would have helped you back then. Not for a favour, but because you needed to know what you are.” She sighs, feeling she’d ventedeverything she needed to. Her gaze softens. “Momo said you believed in therumours about you, but I didn’t think it was to this extent. You know shethinks they’re wrong too, right?”
“Yes.”
“Don’t you think it says something that the two of usagree?”
“It says you’re either kinder then most fae or you’re both deluded.”
“You sure you’re notthe one who’s deluded?”
They stare at each other again. They’re at an impasse, andneither was going to back down. A strange sense of amusement tickles at herlips. “Do you know why I agreed to see you today?”
That breaks the tension. Toshiro blinks. “Why?”
She sits back down on the roots. “Momo told me about yourjourney back to Mount Elm. She said that when it started to rain, you couldhave left her behind and gone on by yourself. You didn’t though.  You kept her with you, wanting her to guideyou up the mountain, maybe even get a glimpse of your world. Then you both agreed to see each other again. That said a lot tome.”
She tilts her head to him, smiling sincerely. “It showed that the rumoursof you being cold-hearted and selfish weren’t true. You wanted to protect her,to make sure she was safe from the weather. You wanted to show her your worldafter she had shown you hers. The way she speaks about you, the impact you’vemade one her, speaks volumes to me. It showed me you stride forward even in the face of these rumours. Even though you believe them to be true, you’re kind andselfless and don;t always put your duties above visiting someone. Now that I’ve met you again, I know I’m right about all of that.”
He’s speechless for several seconds, then grumbles somethingunder his breath about her still being deluded. To which she says, “It alsoshows me you like her, a lot.”
Yep, that did it. His cheeks bloom with a very faint pink andhe glares at her. “She’s just a friend. And what do you mean I made an impacton her?”
The latter surprises him, bewilders him even. Her smileturns into one of understanding. “Did you know she’s training because of you?”
That only bewilders him even more. “She’s what?”
Rangiku lists her head to the side, rolling her eyes to thesky. “Well, I mean you’re not the only reason,” she amends. “Momo has alwaysbeen dedicated to training and improving herself. I just haven’t seen her trainthis frequently before. I think you and the way you described the Heavensinspired her.”
He struggles to hold back a flustered expression, and itmakes Rangiku giggle. “I appreciated her help in guiding me back to theHeavens,” he says. “Without her, I wouldn’t have been wondering this world fordays.” Unbidden, a faint smile shapes his lips. “And I would never have beengiven the chance to see you again. Perhaps it is her I owe instead.”
Rangiku nods. “I think that would be best…but you know shewill react like I did, right?”
He leans back with a frustrated sigh. “She will.”
Rangiku stands, stretching her arms and wings beforegathering up her bundle of wood. She already has an idea in mind. “Then Ipropose a different strategy.”
Toshiro joins her, gathering up his bundle as he did. “Andwhat would that be?”
Rangiku winks at him. “I’ll tell you on the way back.”

“Make sure you stay sheltered after I take off.”
Momo stands up from Toshiro’s clothed hand, beaming as she nods.“Will do.”
With that affirmed, Toshiro moves his hand to align withRangiku’s over the dying fire. It was a few hours ago they had come back andadded wood to it. It was large enough to warm Rangiku and allow Momo to be heldby Toshiro. The day had escaped them, and now the dusk was darkening the skies.
Momo jumps from one hand to the other, the little burst ofheat she emits warming the fairy’s palm. Rangiku goes to pull her hand away, but the sprite leans across and wraps her arms around Toshiro’s pinkie. “Pleasecome visit again,” she says.
At Toshiro’sflustered expression, Rangiku can barely contain a giggle. “Is this a hug foryou two?” she chortles.
Momo, perhaps realising what she had done, quickly retreatsback, and exclaims I unison with Toshiro. “It’s not like that!”
That only turns her suppressed giggles into laughter. “Youtwo are so easy to tease!”
Momo and Toshiro share a withering look while the fairy’slaughter echoes around them. She knows there’s feeling brimming beneath thesurface for the both of them. Perhaps neither recognise what these feelingswere or were willing to admit them – she suspected the former rather than thelatter – but there was no doubt they had left a large enough impression on eachother for deeper feelings to bloom. Until they realised, she can tease themabout it…maybe even prod them in the right direction to get there sooner.
Toshiro glares at her half-heartedly. “You’re unbelievable.”
Rangiku flicks her hair behind her shoulder and grins. “Iknow.”
He rolls his eyes and his frown remains, but his gazesoftens as he removes the cloth from his hand and tucks it into his robes. “Regardless,it was good to see you again, Matsumoto.”
Rangiku bows her head. “Likewise, guardian.”
Upon raising her head, he steps backwards out of the cave, stopping a few metres from the entrance. His wings solidify right before theireyes, chard by shard, until they’re fully formed. “I’ll be send you a letter ina few weeks,” he says to Momo.
“I look forward to it,” she exclaims while he crouches tothe ground. His focus is on the darkened sky. Then, with a surge of his powerand a massive flap of his wings, he’s airborne, soaring towards the clouds. Both them are temporarily stunned by the sight, but Momo is the first to breakout of her reverie.
“Take care!” Momo callsout to him, waving. Rangiku join suit, knowing full well he won’t be able tosee them. When he has almost disappeared into the clouds, the snow starts tofall again. Rangiku kneels down to the fire, shifting Momo towards it whilethey watched the snowfall.
“Are you sure you’re okay wit this arrangement, Rangiku?”Momo asks after a minute.
Rangiku quirks a browat her friend. “What do you mean? I’m the one who came up with it.”
“You’re really okay to pass letters between us?”
“Of course! I can survive the mountain peaks. Beside, mynext outpost will be stationed halfway up Mount Kuchiki.”
“But what about your current one?”
“I need a change. I applied for it months ago. I was goingto tell you about it before we got caught up with Hitsugaya.”
“Oh…well, the in that case…”  Momo hugs her friend’s wrist. “Thank you somuch. I really appreciate it, and I’m sure Toshiro does too.”
Rangiku chuckles, patting her friend on the back in return. “Ishould be thanking you.”
Momo rises back to kneel. “Oh?”
“For arranging this, and for giving me and Toshiro sometime alone.” She rests her chin hr free palm with a smiel. “It took me a littlewhile to figure it out, but you set the wood gathering up so we could talkalone, right?”
Momo clasps her hands behind her back and sways from side toside. “Yeah, I did.”
“You could have told me you know.”
“I only came up with the idea a few days ago. This meeting wasn’t about me, so I didn’t want to interfere. I wanted you two have some time together.”
Again she pats her friend on the back. “I really did appreciate that. I think we both got somethings off our chests that we’ve wanted to say for a while.”
“I’m glad then!”
“To think I had a role in giving the fae one of the mostpowerful ice guardians! One day I will be known by all fae as Rangiku Matsumoto, creator of Hitsugaya Toshiro!”
“Uh, d-don’t get too ahead of yourself, Rangiku.”
Rangiku chuckles again and rolls her eyes toward thesnowfall, watching the dusk darken to night. “I’m kidding. In any event, it’s amazing to seehow far he has come. I just hope one day he can stop believing in those stupidrumours.”
Momo nods, her smile falling. “I know.”
“You’ll play a big role in that, I’m sure.”
“And you, Rangiku.”
“You think so?”
“You will be joining us when he comes down to visit, right?”
Now that surprises her. “You…You wouldn’t mind?”
“No, and I’m sure Toshiro would want that too.”
“You know what this means right? When you become a fairy I’mgoing to take the two of you to all the bars in the air and fire kingdoms!”
“I don’t know if he’s old enough for that yet.”
“He might be by the time you become a fairy.” Rangiku shrugswith a wink. “But we’ll see. He might just want some alone time with you.”
Her laughter once again echoes through the cave as shewatches the embarrassed sprite chastise her. Eventually, they make their wayback to the outpost. Momo now sits in the lantern, leaning against the glasspane, dozing off.
Rangiku looks ahead to flickering lights of the outpost, slowing her walk as the winds pick up.
She thinks back on today with a wide smile. She really wasproud of Toshiro, and was happy she could now talk with him. Regardless of hisvisits to the world below, she decides she’ll go seem him on breaks at her newoutpost. She imagines she won’t be able to get through to the Heavens, but Renjicould probably help her get past Byakuya.
She turns her head back to her friend. She had only knownMomo for a few years, but in that short time she had become one of her closestfriends. She always admired her determination and hard work toward anything sheset her mind to.
Today was made possible by thesprite in her hand because of those qualities. If she could make something like this happen, then there’sno doubt in Rangiku’s mind she can one day visit him in his world too.

Since you haven't done Finrod for the character ask, would you do Finrod please? Honestly anything Finrod would be good.
favorite thing about them:
Oh goodness, where to start! Probably the way he’s just friends with everyone: Celegorm and Curufin, even though Finrod and all his people marched across the Ice.  Fingolfin & Maedhros, even though Finrod is head of the House of Finarfin in Middle-earth.  Beor and all his Men.  Andreth.
I particularly like his relations with the Dwarves who help him build Nargothrond. OK, he paid them, but still, he’s one of the Noldor from Aman, probably a student of Aule himself, he’s been specifically tasked with building a secret city, and his first act is to find some short people who could not be more Middle-earth, and who his cousins are somewhat suspicious of, hire them to build his city, and he’s such a delight to work for, they make him the Nauglamir. )
But I also love that we know for sure that he is OK, he returned to life and walks under the trees in Valinor!
least favorite thing about them:
I find it faintly unsettling that he retreated into relatively-comfortable and safe Nargothrond and left his younger brothers and the Men of Beor’s house to defed Dorthonion.  OK, someone needed to defend Dorthonion, and he had been specifically tasked with city-building, but it still makes an  unsettling contrast with Maedhros whose youngest brothers are pushed safely back behind the lines.
brOTP:  Hard to know where to begin with Finrod!  Maybe Beor, although I do like him to be particular friends with Maglor too.
OTP:   Amarie.  Yes, I know, I’m boring shipping all the canon ships.  I like to think that Amarie would have liked to go with Finrod  to Middle-earth, and did go to the War of Wrath, and this time it was she who went freely, and he who was not permitted to leave (having recently returned from death).
nOTP:  I’m not sure it’s quite a nOTP but I’m not keen on Finrod being romantically involved with Curufin.  And incest with his brothers or sister.
random headcanon: I think Finrod, returned to life, was much involved with the preparations for the War of Wrath, even though he wasn’t allowed to join in.
song i associate with them:  Finrod Song, obviously!  :-D The duel with Sauron is the best bit, but I am also very fond of The Ballad of Finrod to Amarië and I’m going to paste my attempt at an English version of the original Russian here since I’ve just spent half an hour trying to find a version on Youtube with reasonable audio quality and failing:At nightfall when the long shadowscast their web of sleep,I do not see the walls of stone, because I know you’re still there.I know there can be no turning back,Heart frozen in the ice,I know that I will come to woeHere in waking memory.I do not dare to curse at your choice,You can’t regret that I was madeWith one soul, to serve as well as to love,It’s far too late for lying to myself.
Between us lies the Grinding Ice.Dyed red as blood by sunset light. The trouble’s not that now I am alone -the trouble is the song was never finished.
Between us - distance and the seaBetween us - a trail of shadowYou simply cried to me: “No”Leaving me forever with “Yes”Now you are a symbol of hope. Now you are an endless reproachIf it were not for the old discord, perhaps everything would be different. In the West, your wings are burningAh, if love did not know the rules!Alas, it was not you who turned awayIt seems that it was I who chose to leave youPerhaps there’s no true obstacle between us.Perhaps we’ll see the summer come again. The trouble’s not that I can’t return -The trouble is the song was never finished…

Blake’s Foils Part 3: Weiss
This is probably one of the more immediately obvious pairs of foils on the show, and the strongest case of foiling within the main group of four, by far. IMO it’s a bit more superficial to both characters’ fundamental development than, say Blake vs Pyrrha (or Weiss and Pyrrha for that matter) or Blake vs Raven, though, so it’s somewhat less interesting to me (though still quite interesting).
Also, how Weiss and Blake foil each other in the early volumes has been talked about a lot. But how they foil each other in volumes 4 and 5 has not been discussed that much from what I’ve seen, and I thought it would be worth documenting here.
Let’s get the obvious volumes 1-3 foiling out of the way quickly first. Weiss and Blake have opposite color schemes, being literally white and black (most profoundly with their contrasting hair color), which reflects an early deep social conflict between the two which the show hits the audience over the head with in the episode “Black and White,” where Weiss and Blake spend a good deal of screen time arguing over racial politics.
They come from opposite ends of the social spectrum in a way that’s more profound than with Pyrrha and Blake; Weiss being an heiress to a powerful, world famous family-owned corporation, and Blake having been part of the (now) terrorist organization (we later also learn is in a sense “family owned”) that has singled that corporation out specifically for attacks in retaliation for institutionally racist labor policies.
Beyond that core conflict between them (which is quickly raised and resolved at the end of volume 1) they foil each other pretty extensively on the level of aesthetics and character quirks as well.
Both are sword wielders who can integrate dust into their semblances to devastating effect. Both have graceful, dualist-type fighting styles. But Weiss uses very upfront, elegant forms, so her attacks are often like a ballerina’s dance, while Blake tends to fight dirty, is more improvisational, and uses traps and subterfuge. In volume 5 Blake fights more like a brawler (punching out Trifa, hitting Hazel in the face with a double-flying kick), while Weiss with her spell-casting style more and more seems to fight best from range where she doesn’t get her hands dirty.
In the early volumes both tend to be stand-offish, and often don’t get along with people particularly well. But where Weiss is loud, Blake is quiet. Weiss is overtly hostile, and Blake is passive aggressive.
On a more abstract thematic level, Weiss consistently feels isolated and alone. As Weiss correctly points out to Yang in 5x8, Blake has her own version of loneliness too, but Blake consistently has some kind of support in the form of a sidekick/partner, even when that’s not wanted or needed (Sun), or not good at all (Adam in the Black Trailer). This key difference between them is most strongly reflected in their theme songs. Weiss’s songs are always solos, usually directly discussing how lonely she feels. Blake’s songs, on the other hand, are always duets, that address Blake’s complex relationships with other people (including human/faunus relations in the macro-abstract).
There’s a lot that could be said about the fact that the two of them spend most of the Battle of Beacon fighting side-by-side, and notably they also end up fighting in tandem at the Battle of Haven (simmer down mono shippers, I don’t mean it like that, they’re just a great brotp in my book).
Weiss and Blake seem to represent two sides of humanity, and politically polarized and contrasting social orders. Showing them leaving their differences aside to fight the forces of Chaos (Salem and her minions) together makes for a powerful archetypal image.
Tumblr media
(That awesome battle buddy pose, though)
In regards to the Battle of Beacon, I’ll also note that they both end up primarily fighting opponents with which they have a personal connection. Weiss ends up fighting mostly hacked Atlesian military tech, and Blake ends up mostly fighting White Fang. Also, at one point Blake shields Weiss from Atlesian paladin droids, and later Weiss defends Blake from an onslaught of White Fang fighters.
Both conceal painful personal secrets from their team (Weiss’s bad relationship with her father, and Blake’s past with Adam) that end up coming to a head at the end of volume 3 in a bad way for both of them that causes both of them to separate from their teams.
Now, we get into the really good stuff, because post-volume 3 (mainly in volume 4, but to some extent in volume 5 as well), both of their stories explicitly mirror the other’s quite thoroughly.
After the Fall of Beacon, Weiss is forced back home to Atlas, against her choice, escorted by her father. Blake, on the other hand, herself chooses to go home to Menagerie alone (at least until Sun unwantedly shows up).
Weiss goes to the frozen north, Blake goes to the sub-tropical south. Atlas is economically developed, technologically advanced, politically powerful, and racially segregated (possibly on an apartheid level, based on Ilia’s backstory in Blake’s volume 5 character short). Meanwhile, Menagerie is a faunus reservation, economically repressed, technologically poor, and an internationally political non-entity.
We learn in volume 4 that, like Weiss, Blake is a sort of “heiress” in that her father is the former White Fang leader and current political leader of Menagerie. Weiss’s father, on the other hand, while exceedingly wealthy and socially powerful, is shown in volume 4 to be politically impotent, with Ironwood controlling Atlas’s economic policies against Jacques’s wishes.
Since volume 4, Blake’s arc has focused on her reconnecting and repairing her relationship with her family specifically, and her social community more broadly. Weiss’s arc has focused on her growing alienation from her family, and social community more broadly.
Blake’s parents are shown to be very loving and kind, immediately forgiving their daughter for running out on and being estranged from them for about 5 years. Weiss’s parents, on the other hand, are neglectful, in the case of her mother, an absent alcoholic, and outright abusive, in the case of her father, who is pathologically controlling, and only cares about his daughter in so far as he can use her as a social prop.
Compare the stark contrast between Weiss’s talk with Jacques in 4x7, and Blake’s talk with Ghira in 4x8.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Weiss and Blake have two very different conversations with their fathers in successive episodes)
Or Weiss’s rant against the party goers (notably all human) in 4x6, calling out how terrible they all are, versus Blake’s address to the faunus of Menagerie in 5x10 in which she convinces them that they’re better than they thought they were.
Weiss in Atlas ends up feeling more and more isolated, alienated, and ends up losing all her social power. Blake in Menagerie works through her feelings of isolation and alienation and becomes more and more empowered by her family, friends, and community.
Weiss ends up rebelling against her family and society by giving up designs on her family name and business (at least for the time being) and illegally flees Atlas, alone except for a smuggler she pays off to help her. She ends up crash-landing and winding up in the hands of a bandit queen (where she is explicitly told no one is coming to help her) only to be “rescued” (more on that in a bit) by the bandit queen’s daughter (calm down freezerburn shippers, I don’t mean it in that way. Again, awesome brotp).
Blake leaves Menagerie with the full support of her family and community behind her, where she goes to Mistral and works with the authorities to stop an infamous criminal. Weiss has to flee her community to get to Mistral, Blake literally brings her community with her.
In sense, from the end of volume 3, Blake’s arc has been something of a “rags to riches” story, whereas Weiss’s arc has been a kind of a “riches to rags” story. Taken together, the two of them have sort of traded places in the social hierarchy.
Some other interesting points of parallel between Weiss and Blake: in volume 5 they’re both at one point captured by criminal organizations, until a blond assistant (Yang in Weiss’s case, Sun in Blake’s case) “rescues” them. Of course, the rescues are largely a formality, since Weiss could have escaped Raven’s camp on her own in 5x4, and Blake simply uses Sun to set up a pre-arranged counter-ambush in 5x8.
Also, during the Battle of Beacon, Blake is stabbed on the front left side with Adam’s sword. During the Battle of Haven, Weiss is stabbed in the back right side with Cinder’s spear. They’ll now have mirrored abdominal scars.
The parallels between Weiss and Blake are interesting to be sure, but they don’t reveal as much about the two characters as, for instance Blake’s foiling of Pyrrha and Raven reveals about Blake. Basically Weiss and Blake as foils provides the narrative with a cool inverted structural balance, but not much beyond that.
That said, however, I am very much invested in seeing how the parallels between Weiss and Blake’s arcs continue to develop in future volumes.

This was written between 4A and 4B, when I had the delusion that I wanted to be “spoiler free.” I was also ill when I wrote this and haven’t looked at it since, so…it might be a little rough, LOL. Wedding Day- Written for OQ Fix It Week. Robin didn’t die; and once all settles down in Storybrooke, Robin and Regina get married.

Soft Spot, Part 4-  Robin can’t let Regina walk away and he does his best to comfort her.
Soft Spot, Part 5-  When Zelena kidnaps Esme, Regina comes to realize she needs the Evil Queen.
Leaping Into Darkness Verse:

Leaping Into Darkness, Chapter 2- On a walk in the woods, Robin suggests Regina’s outfits aren’t conducive to heisting.
Leaping Into Darkness, Chapter 3- Regina gets sick and Robin isn’t quite sure how to care for her.

One more character ask? Kind of hard but Neo-Queen Serenity
So - Haruka and Michiru are still coming up, but this fit perfectly now, after Usagi, so forgive me the breaking of the order, yeah? xD
Why I likeher: well… she IS still Usagi. So there is that xD
Why Idon’t: It would be very strong to say I don’t like her, but she makes me very, very sad. In fact, she might be the most tragic figure in this series for me.
Here wehave Usagi:
Tumblr media
Happy, bubbly, loud and free. Reborn princess coming from a life that Serenity wishedto break out of, at least secretly.
And she gotgranted that wish. Reborn on a planet in a time where she could just be anormal girl. Something she deeply, deeply wanted to be: Normal. So much thesilver crystal granted that wish A SECOND TIME after she died in season one.Wishing to be just a normal girl, live just a normal life, meet all her lovedones in a happy, normal way.
Tumblr media
(Also, youknow, if you allow me to focus on a second on the FIRST time the Silver Crystaldid that? Obviously we saw in the last episode of the first season that theSilver Crystal is pretty capable of doing shit. You can wish an entire year tonot have happened and instead to have happened in peace. But Queen Serenity, lying in the ruins of the Silver Millennium, didn’t do that. She couldobviously have wished for business as usual but in peace, now. And yeah, I knowI’m poking plot holes again, but I like to think it was a choice. She chose tosend her daughter into a time, and a place, where she could live a normal, happy life. Something she so desperately wished for. And not this life that shehad, and would have gone on having.)
… Andthis person then is destined tobecome queen.
And yeah, with lots and lots and lots ofheadcanon of days where they disguise themselves to sneak out, this could bebent to be not so bad, but…this is not at all what we see.
What we seeis this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A grand, closed off world. Big and empty. A world in which we are told that Chibs sometimes “sneaksinto her mother’s bedroom” when her mother isn’t there and in which she“ isn’t usually allowed in.” A world of grand empty crystal halls -almost barren places. A world of ceremonies and state visits is what Dianatalks about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And thenNQS herself… she doesn’t even look like Usagi anymore. Her smile is lesswide. We BARELY even hear her talk, let alone be loud. Even her whole look:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s notbubbly anymore. In fact, all the colors, even her hair - It looks icy. Frozen. This isn’t my happy Usagi anymore.
And don’teven get me started on how it could even remotely have happened that Chibscould be led to believe that she was a bad, unloving mother…
But, y’know.. all this is not to say that I don’t think Usagi wouldn’t make a brilliant queen. In fact, I absolutely buy that the world were a peaceful place if Tsukino Usagi were to run the world. In fact, she would probably be the best thing ever to happen to it. I’m just saying it would not be a life I would wish for her - however much I would wish it for the world!
Fav scene:obviously, are these ones. Little doodles of her, or stories. When Dianaimplies the queen and king fake sick. Little glimpses where I do see that Usagiis still in there, albeit hidden away.
Tumblr media
And it’salso very telling, isn’t it, that NQS chooses for her daughter to grow up withher younger self, and somewhat normal? I mean - you have to take into considerationthat she chooses this just after they had what we understand to be the biggestincident ever in the history of Crystal Tokyo. Near destruction. War.  And she almost lost her daughter. Chibs wasturned into Black Lady – and unhappy enough to be turned. This would be such afamily building exercise afterwards. A situation where a mother would keep herchild close, afraid to let go. But instead, she sends her away. Because - at leasthow I see it - NQS even knows herself she was happier as Usagi herself, atleast carefreer, and wishes the same experience for her daughter. A happy childhoodis what NQS believes she gives her daughter by sending her into the past. …
Fav line:SHE BARELY HAS ANY.
Fav outfit:Since she only has the one in canon… (also sad. Usagi was obviously intofashion. Please let her have more!)
OTP: I amdeeply relieved she still has Mamoru - who, other than her, seems more open, more trusting. Like a Mamoru who is more balanced - actually happier, otherthan her?
Brotp: Ireally, really hope she still is allowed to have friends, tbh? I mean obviouslythe girls are still there… but… food dates at a cafe, hanging out at theshrine is definitely out of the equation. And so would be befriending randompeople every day and following them around to learn their stories…
Headcanon: I read a headcanon about her awhile back that I really liked, but unfortunately I don’t remember well enoughwhere I read it in order to source it, but anyway:
Headcanonwas that NQS - like Queen Serenity before her - has to use her energy on thepraying stone for ridiculous hours a day to keep things like the longevity  / peaceful, healing energy going. Which couldexplain, if you bend and expand this out, why she seems so lonely, has to livecast away, can’t transform into Sailor Moon anymore, AND why she is gone sooften that Chibs barely sees her. It has holes, but I liked it. (And yes, stilltragic)
Unpopularopinion: All of the above, lol?
A wish: Ireally hope Cosmos isn’t her future on top of that. I mean, I prefer the separatetimeline theory for Cosmos anyway, but… if it weren’t separate, if that wereNeo Queen Serenity’s future… EVEN LONELIER? Oh, c’mon. So that’s also my “please-don’t-happen”for her, I guess.
Describeher in 5 words: Used to be Usagi and now is trapped in icon role. (Yeah, not5.)
Nickname:NQS!

Hey, what are your top 3 (or 5, if you’re up for it) plots/character dynamics that would’ve made OUAT more interesting but that the writers either didn’t do/tried to do but screwed up royally
Wow, Nonny, I think this might be the best ask I’ve ever gotten (or tied with the one about Regina sending all the random guests at the Captain Swine wedding home with their hearts in favor baggies) and I’ve had some great ones.
And I was going to mull it over as usual and give it the respect it deserves but if I do that it’s going in my drafts and won’t be answered for weeks if ever and will be six thousand words long. So I’m just gonna half-ass it. [Editorial note: it has now been more than a week since I wrote those words and I have been half-assing it in draft all that time. And it STILL got long as hell. This is why no one sends me asks. :-( Sorry, Anon.]
Top 5 characters/character dynamic missed opportunities:
-- First and foremost forever, everything having to do with Neal. Papafire, Fire Believer, Floof Family, Swanfire, Neal/Regina coparenting...every plot since would have been improved, more organic and more interesting by adding Neal. Neal and Emma going back in time and BOTH meeting their parents? Rumple’s Rampage with Neal around--and Neal being the one to banish him? The Dark Two costarring the Dark One’s son? Which wouldn’t have ended with Emma being upstaged in her own story by her Stu boyfriend, but given her the sacrificial moment she deserved.
-- Regina’s love life: With all due respect to OQ, that should have ended the moment Marian was brought back, and Regina’s next and permanent love interest should have been a villain for her to bring back to the light. Hook, if he was kept around after Neverland (the both of them rebounding after Swanfire and Robin/Marian reunited, but growing into something more); Maleficent (written to be a little more bitter/less reformed); Jafar coming off OUATIW (bringing in Aladdin and Jasmine a few seasons earlier, perhaps in place of the Frozen nonsense); even Facilier with the same backstory (which seems to be a fling while she was the Evil Queen, with possibly much stronger feelings on his part that she didn’t return because revenge).
...OR. If the decision was made to ditch the original story of Swanfire, the only organic alternative would have been to go forward with a full-on love story for Swan Queen. (Which to be honest is one of the few things that I think would have prevented the show’s ratings decline and failure.)
-- Ruby should have stayed a main character, and her romance should have been onscreen. I enjoyed the setup for Frankenwolf in S2, but Kitsowitz have been promising a LGBT couple since S3, when all we got was sad, lonely Mulan in love with her straight best friend. (Cutting-edge wlw content, circa 1925.) Ruby and Mulan coulda/shoulda had a long-term, medium-burn romance like Alice and Robin are getting now. Ruby’s friendships with Snow and Belle could also have been respected (and poor Belle wouldn’t have been used to prop her and her family’s abusers). Even after the show had gone down the Stu hole, there was a period when they could have gotten Meghan back (before she became the queen of the Hallmark Channel) and could have gone on from there.
-- The Sheep Boys BroTP should never have been abandoned--especially so that Charming could play sidekick and patsy to a toxic misogynist pirate who never learned from him. Charming and Hook together were basically two frat boys glorifying traditional masculinity (with Hook being the darker, toxic side and again, never changing through learning anything from David). Rumple and Charming were incredibly different, but they had the commonality of putting their wives and families above everything else in the world. Exploring the different worldviews they came even with that common goal could have been fascinating, and expanded both characters.
-- And, of course, probably most of all: Rumbelle, and Belle’s other relationships. Like, I can’t even begin...there are SO many missed opportunities and lost chances with them--beginning even back in S2. What if they’d kept Lacey for more than two episodes and let her play a part in the main story? (I’ll never get over the hilarious visual of Lacey in Neverland.) But overall...just...not piling on stupid, needless, often OOC conflict without any payoff for three or four seasons. Not to say have them always be in perfect accord like Snowing, or a codependent mess like CY, in which Belle kept brushing off any of Rumple’s wrongdoings. But let them work out issues onscreen, let them fight together against outside threats like Hades, let them address their conflicts in ways that made sense in character rather than being excuses to prop a Stu or Sue. (Let’s not even discuss the constant teasing of the BatB TLK and the  ultimate utter pathetic anticlimax when it didn’t happen.) While I do think that canon Swan Queen is the only thing that could have definitely saved the ratings in later seasons, IMO a strong Rumbelle story that respected their characters and their story as Beauty and the Beast had a good chance of doing it as well. (Especially if Kitsowitz had had the brains to cash on on the live-action BatB hullablaoo.) But Kitsowitz were too small-minded and spiteful (and ABC too prejudiced and cowardly, I guess) to focus on their best romance.
(Honorary mentions to the Rumple/Regina frenemyship, which I cover below, and to poor Will Scarlet, who should have never been on the show if he wasn’t going to be more than a “soul-destroying” unneeded glitch in Rumbelle.)
Top 5 plot missed opportunities:
[OMG, Violet, you’re not done YET???]
-- The Anti-Magic Organization that Greg/Tamara supposedly worked for would have made a brilliant arc. Kitsowitz should have played that out before heading off to Neverland (it was obviously the plan because they didn’t expect the NL/PP perms situation to resolve so quickly).
-- My best crack theory: Hook found the author in Season 3B and had been using him to manipulate everyone ever since. Explaining Once Upon a Stu--and more important, getting out of it at the end of S4. https://violetfaust.tumblr.com/post/114245381966/what-if-someone-already-got-to-the-author
-- A S5b based on my second-best crack theory: https://violetfaust.tumblr.com/post/143427662086/things-that-absolutely-wont-happen-but-should Rumple and Belle try to get out of Hades’s clutches by working with Regina--who claims to be Rumple’s second-born child via Cora. We could have had so much juicy stuff exploring their past, what Rumple did to Regina, Rumple and Cora (it’s a travesty that they didn’t even have a passing encounter in the UW). It could have led into Emilie’s maternity leave when Hades discovered the truth and kidnapped Belle--which would have led to a 6A in which Rumple rescued Belle from some other dimension but found their child gone. And one of the plot points of 6A would have been Rumple working with the EQ not in some idiotic parody of a romance, but because she called in a favor.
-- BIG BAD FUCKING BLUE FAIRY. Enough said.
-- And then there’s the most destructive missed plot opportunity in the history of the show: Giving Rumple’s and Belle’s POVs in seasons 4 through 6. Given the reveals about the Dark Squad in S5, the most dramatic story this show ever had was Rumple’s battle against the Dark One (and his near-loss) in S4. A S4 that showed his POV of what was happening would have been epic--especially if it did not sideline Belle but allowed her to play a part in trying to save him at the end, culminating in their TLK that freed Rumple but unfortunately also let loose the Dark One, leading to it taking over Emma. Then S5 would have played out as it was advertised: the current Dark One vs. the only surviving former Dark One. Similarly, Belle’s actions in 6A caused nearly all the drama of 6B--and she wasn’t allowed to participate in it at all.
Honorable mention to not including Belle in the Mulan/Ruby/Merida adventure in S5--a one-off that included three of her friends versus her enemy and could have really benefited from having, you know, a MEMBER OF THE MAIN CAST involved in the episode.

After the radio incident, both girls remained on the floor talking and sharing stories, trying to get back the serene atmosphere they had shared in the early morning. It wasn’t until Anna mentioned Kai and Gerda, that Elsa noticed the time and thought it was better to get ready. She needed to pack a few things to stay some days at her parents’ house, and her crutches made the task a lot harder than it usually was.
Elsa finished arranging things in her backpack when Kai knocked on her door. She picked the bag, ready to leave the house, when Anna stopped her.
“Are you sure your parents won’t have a problem taking me home?” She was clearly nervous about meeting her in-laws again.
“For the last time, no. They won’t.” Elsa chuckled. She didn’t want to laugh at Anna’s nervousness, but it was funny to hear her ask the question for the fourth time.
“It’s just-... The last time I saw them was when we told you-... And I don’t know if-” Anna kept trying to get the words out, but her nervousness made talking more difficult than it was supposed to be. Truth was, she was afraid of Gerda and Kai’s opinion of her. Deep inside she believed they weren’t going to be okay with the fact she was spending time with Elsa after everything that happened. To make things worse, she didn’t know if Kristoff had told them about their fight the previous week. She knew her fears were uncalled-for since they had always been nice and kind to her, but she knew they loved Kristoff and Elsa more than anything. And something told her her family was not the most loved one by the Bjorgmans’ at that moment.
Elsa was about to reassure her once again; when Kai, getting tired of waiting in the cold, opened the door. “Thank god you don’t listen to me and you never lock your door. It’s freezing out there.” He rubbed his arms trying to heat his body as he smiled to his daughter. “Ready to go, Elsa?”
“Ready,” Elsa said after she greeted him. As she was handing him her backpack, she asked, “could we give Anna a ride?”
“Anna?” He raised his head in surprise at the mention of her name. Finally noticing the girl in question was standing behind his daughter.
Anna showed her father-in-law a timid smile and waved to him when she saw how surprised he was to see her there.
“She came to visit and now she needs to get home,” said Elsa, saving Anna the trouble of explaining what she was doing there. Anna noticed Kai’s puzzled look, but she was thankful to see him smile at her after the initial confusion wore off.
-
For the most part, the ride back to Trollheim was peaceful. Kai and Gerda asked some questions about Anna’s stay the previous night, genuinely curious about her visit. They seemed happy she had taken the time to visit Elsa and see how she was doing, which was a relief to Anna since the last thing she wanted was for things to be awkward between them.
At some point during the trip, however, Anna began to notice Elsa becoming more and more nervous. The closer they got to Trollheim, detached from the conversation she looked. She kept fidgeting and the temperature in the car had decreased, showing something was clearly wrong with her. Taking Gerda a few tries to get her to answer the simplest questions.
Gerda, knowing exactly what was troubling her daughter, didn't hesitate to call her attention one last time and ask, “Elsa, are you okay?”
“Yes,” answered Elsa, raising her head and pretending everything was okay. “Yes… I’m just- I’m fine.”
Not buying her daughter’s lies, Gerda turned around in her seat and said, “everything will be fine, dear.”
“I know,” She let out a breath. “It’s silly to be nervous.” She knew that for any other person, being afraid of doctors and hospitals was ridiculous, but she still struggled with undesired memories every time she found herself inside a clinic. “Do you think this will be my last appointment?”
“I’m not sure,” answered the old woman sincerely. “But remember, you’ll need some therapy sessions once the cast is removed.” Gerda knew Elsa couldn’t stand the appointments, but she didn’t want to give her false hope.
“Right.”
"I'll be right there, sweetheart." Gerda promised.
Anna stayed silent while mother and daughter talked to each other. She felt bad for Elsa's dejected expression, since it showed how much she truly hated those appointments. But she was happy to be able to witness Gerda's love. It made Anna feel better to know she hadn't lied to Elsa earlier that day. Her family loved her more than Elsa imagined, and it was obvious, by Gerda’s expression, she wasn’t planning to leave her behind.
Anna’s thoughts were interrupted when Kai parked the car in front of the hospital and he broke the silence. “Here we are,” he exclaimed. "I’ll take Anna home and then return for you two later.”
“Oh, that’s not necessary.” The last thing Anna wanted was to be a burden to Kai. “I can take a cab or walk.”
“Nonsense. I won’t leave you here.”
“Kai, it’s not necessary. I swear.”
“There’s no point in arguing with dad,” said Elsa once she had stepped out of the car. “Just accept the ride.”
Kai’s smile on the rear-view mirror clearly stated the Elsa was correct, and he was not going to accept no for an answer. Anna laughed, and finally accepted.
“Thank you for visiting Elsa,” said Kai when they were alone in the car. “She can really use a friend right now.”
“I thought you'd be against the idea of me spending time with her," she admitted, looking at her hands in shame. “Taking into account everything that happened…”
“Whatever happened before you were born is not your fault, kid."
"No. I mean forcing my parents to tell her the truth so soon. I didn't stop to think how much it could affect her." Anna didn't know how much Elsa had shared with her parents about the way she felt, but she thought it was an understanding she was not doing alright.
"Maybe the when and how weren't ideal, but I think you had good intentions, Anna."
Anna smiled to his comment, but Kai noticed Anna's ever present happiness was tainted with sadness and concern. Something that, in his opinion, didn't really suit the girl. He turned around on his seat to face her and asked, "how are you holding up?"
"What?"
"It must have been hard for you to find out the truth too. How are you holding up?"
Touched by the man's concern she answered truthfully. "I've been better. My parents haven't been the same since they found out Elsa was their daughter. And it's strange to think of Elsa as my older sister to be honest."
"And yet, you take the time to make sure Elsa is alright… Thank you."
Not knowing what to say, she simply smiled once again.
When they reached her house, she thanked Kai for the ride, and stepped out of the car. She was about to close the door when Kai asked, “is your father home?”
“I think so...”
Anna entered her house and was soon stopped by Agdar. He had been calling Kristoff all morning trying to speak with but no-one was answering the phone, making him worry.
"Anna," he called her attention. "Where have you been?"
“I was in the North mountain,” she answered simply, not wanting to explain herself too much to her father. She knew her parents were going to ask some questions, but she wanted to say as little as possible and not to betray Elsa’s trust
He was more than surprised by her answer, since he and Idunn were convinced she had stayed the night with Kristoff, like she did most Fridays nights. "You could have told us where you were going."
Anna thought it was better not argue with her father and changed the topic, “Kai is outside, he wants to talk to you.”
Agdar asked Anna to let her mother know she was back, and he left the house in a hurry, hoping the Kai and Gerda had changed their mind about their conversation earlier. "Thank you for giving our daughter a ride,” said Agdar, once he reached the car.
“There’s no need to thank me." Kai wanted to get back to the hospital before Elsa’s appointment was over, so he jumped to the matter he wanted to discuss with Agdar. Not wasting anymore time than necessary, he asked, "does the name Douglas Weselton sound familiar to you?"
"Dr. Weselton?" asked Agdar, surprised. "Yes. He was a doctor from Romsdal. Actually, he was the one who helped us with Idunn's pregnancy when we were expecting Elsa. Why?"
Kai looked at him with astonishment at that. He knew they had mentioned his name the night Elsa lost control of her powers, but he had no idea the man had actually helped the couple with the pregnancy. Kai was sure he needed to hear their story now. He needed to find out the Arendelles' reasons to trust their health and daughter to someone like Weselton. "Did you leave Elsa under his care?"
Agdar noticed Kai’s collected demeanour disappear, making him worry. "Yes… Why? What’s going on?"
Kai wanted to remain civil and give the couple a chance to explain their past before judging them for their actions. But knowing they had willing left Elsa in Weselton’s hands wasn’t helping him at the moment. “I’ve been thinking about your request. And I think it would be best for us to meet and talk about Elsa’s past. There are a few things I’d like to discuss with you. But I need to know you’ll be willing to tell me your part of the story too. Do you think you think you can do that?”
“As Idunn said, all we want to do is make amends. We are more than willing to tell you and Elsa everything that happened."
"It'll be better for us to meet and talk things through then." Kai started the car and turned to Agdar again once again. "Elsa will be home for a few days, and she hasn’t said anything about wanting to see you yet. And, as you can imagine, making sure she’s okay is my top priority right now; for that reason, I think we should meet after she goes back to the North mountain."
“I understand.” Agdar wished he could see Elsa again, but he knew giving the girl some time was their best bet at the moment. “Please call us when you and Gerda think it’s a good time to meet.”
“I will,” said Kai with a nod.
“Thank you so much, Kai. This means the world to us.”
Kai felt relieved at his words. Something in Agdar’s gratefulness let him know he was doing the right thing by giving the couple a chance.
-
Kristoff climbed the stairs leading to his apartment late that afternoon. He was tired after a long day at the factory, and he was still feeling disappointed he had wasted his Saturday at work. He usually had weekends off, but whenever his boss needed someone trustworthy to replace him, he was the first guy to be called in. Kristoff liked the fact his boss trusted him with the factory and the shipments, but he couldn’t stand acting like a boss to his peers. For that reason, his day had been a bit more stressful than it was usual. And knowing he was returning to an empty apartment didn’t help much to lift his mood. He had always relied on his girlfriend or his sister to talk to and relax after hard days at work; but now, he had to face the fact he was alone yet another weekend for his own stupidity. Leaving him with the bitter taste that he could have said or done things differently the previous weeks.
When he reached his apartment, he tried to unlock the door only to find out it was already unlocked. Something that was completely impossible unless someone was inside the apartment. Knowing for a fact his sister - the only person with keys to his apartment - was in the North mountain, made Kristoff worry. He thought of the possibility he hadn’t locked the door in the morning like he imagined, but then he realised Sven hadn't barked, like he did every day, when he heard him at the door.
Kristoff instantly freaked out, thinking maybe a burglar had entered the apartment and had put the dog to sleep. The idea of someone breaking into his house and hurting Sven made his blood boil and, without thinking too much, he slammed the door open. If there was someone still inside, he would give the person a beating.
He entered the apartment and suddenly his anger changed to confusion when he saw Sven - his main concern - growling in front of him, ready to attack. Kristoff tried to calm the dog down, but Sven was blindly trying to protect its home, barking loudly and not letting Kristoff walk any further.
Kristoff raised his head to see what was going on inside his house when he noticed his sister sitting on the couch. She looked alarmed and Kristoff could see snowflakes falling around her. “Elsa?” he asked, surprised to see her there.
"What is wrong with you?!” yelled Elsa. “You scared me half to death. I thought someone had broken into your apartment!"
“What are you doing here?” asked Kristoff trying to speak over Sven’s barks. He took a step closer, but Sven began growling again. “Sven, calm down, it's me!”
“Don't yell at him,” countered Elsa. She understood the dog's behaviour perfectly. Kristoff had scared both of them by slamming his door, making Sven jump from the couch, where he had been sitting. “He was only trying to protect the apartment. Right, Sven?”
Hearing Elsa's calmer tone of voice helped Sven calm down, and he finally noticed it was Kristoff who had entered the house. After looking at his owner for a moment, the dog turned around and returned to his place next to Elsa, who immediately tried to sooth the animal by petting its head.
“I thought you were a burglar,” explained Kristoff. “I wanted to scare the hell out of whoever was inside the apartment.”
“Well, mission accomplished,” laughed Elsa, finally understanding her brother's peculiar entrance.
Kristoff chuckled at that and sat on a chair close to where Sven was sitting. Pointing at the dog with his index finger, he said, “I can't believe you would be willing to bite me just to protect Elsa. Don't forget who feeds you every day, Sven.”
“Don't listen to him, Sven,” said Elsa hugging the dog and resting her chin on top of his head. “Just follow your heart. I can feed you too.” Sven barked happily, and moved to try and lick her face. “See? He loves me more.” Elsa laughed at the dog’s affection but soon tried to stop him.
Kristoff laughed too. Not believing how lucky Elsa was whenever she needed to get a reaction out of Sven. The dog seemed to play along, doing whatever she needed him to do at the right time. “He just missed you. He clearly loves me more…”
It was after they had calmed down, that Kristoff noticed something different in his sister. “Wait a minute. Where is your cast?”
“The doctor removed it today,” said Elsa, beaming. She had been so eager to share the good news with her brother, she had asked Kai to give her a ride to his place soon after her appointment was over. “It feels so good to be able to bend my knee again.” Elsa then extended her right leg and showed her brother, as if moving her leg was the most incredible thing that had ever happened to her.
Kristoff laughed at her demonstration, finding Elsa's happiness incredibly contagious. "I'm so happy for you."
Seeing Kristoff once again, smiling and sharing her happiness, helped Elsa understand better what Anna had told her that morning. She couldn't keep pushing those who loved her away. Even if her pain hadn't let her see what Kristoff had tried to do for her a couple of weeks before, it didn’t mean she couldn’t set things right with him at that moment. “Kristoff I- I wanted to apologise.”
Kristoff opened his eyes in surprise. Since their fight, he had been beating himself up for what he had done to Elsa, and he hadn't find the courage to ask for forgiveness. And here she was, apologising and trying for them to be on good terms again.
“I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. You were trying to listen to me and help me, and all I did was taking it out on you,” she continued. “I still don't agree with the fact you deliberately chose to keep the truth from me. But I shouldn't have lashed out on you like I did. I shouldn't have pushed you away." She looked at him and said, “I'm sorry.”
“All I was doing was hide your past from you, which is by far the worst thing I've done.” Scratching his neck, Kristoff tried to find the right words. He still hadn't forgiven himself for what he had done, and it was hard to explain how he felt. But he was certain he couldn't let Elsa take all the blame for their argument. “I should be the one asking for your forgiveness.”
A big smile plastered on her face at that. “I’ve already forgiven you, Kristoff.” Elsa always found it hard to open up, but there was something in Kristoff that always prompt her to keep sharing the way she felt. She wished, not for the first time, that talking with other people could be as easy as talking to him or Gerda. “I've got to admit I was disappointed at first, but now I see your point of view. Or I think I do. That's the reason I'm here. I've missed you and I want things to be okay between us.”
“Can you stand up?” asked Kristoff out of the blue, confusing Elsa.
His question had little to do with their conversation, but she answered anyway, “I think so, yes.” She stood up to show him she was good enough to do so. “Why? What do you-?”
Once Elsa was standing in front of him, Kristoff got up and gave her a crushing bear hug. “I've missed you too,” he whispered. All his life he had found it easier to show the way he felt with his body, better than with words, and even if he knew they'd need to discuss their fight and the fact he had kept the truth from her at some point; at that moment all he wanted to do was show her how much he had missed her.
Elsa wrapped her arms around him, hiding her face in the crook of his neck.
“Are you going to cry?” asked Kristoff, teasingly.
“No,” replied Elsa, taking a deep breath to calm herself down. The last thing she wanted was for him to notice her eyes had filled with tears. But the truth was, she needed that hug more than she was willing to admit outloud.
After their hug, brother and sister continued talking about life and meaningless things. It was easy for both of them to forget about their problems whenever they were together. Time apart only worked as a reminder of how much they needed each other.
A couple of hours later, Kristoff noticed the time and suggested they both went to their favourite bar to celebrate the fact Elsa's leg was healing. She still had a long way to recover - crutches for a couple of weeks, therapy and training to regain her strength once again - but at least her major inconvenience was out of the way.
Their favourite bar was a small place in the other side of town. A perfect spot for someone like them, who didn’t enjoy being in crowded places. There they could order some pizzas, beer and enjoy their time, not worrying about a thing in the world. It was for that reason that they went to the bar, and stayed for hours joking and telling stories. They hadn't agreed to it, but both of them avoided sensitive or serious topics, wishing to spend a night away from their problems.
“Do you remember the first time we ate in this place?” asked Kristoff, remembering what he believed was one of the best nights of his life.
“This bar?” wondered Elsa. “I don’t think I remember, no.”
“How can you not remember?!” he asked, already laughing at the memory. “We were both twenty. I had just bought the truck... Rings a bell?”
Elsa opened her eyes in surprise and laughed. “We ate here that night?”
“Yes!” A grin plastered on his face. “Do you remember what happened when we left?”
“How could I forget? Your truck wouldn’t start. And when you tried to fix it,” Elsa emphasised the fix part to show her displeasure at Kristoff's skills as a mechanic, “the engine got on fire!”
“It wasn’t my fault!” laughed Kristoff out loud, as he threw some peanuts to his sister. Elsa always told the story as if he had been the reason the vehicle got on fire. “I still can’t believe the neighbours called the police thinking we were vandals setting things on fire, though” he commented afterwards.
“I was so nervous I thought I was going to freeze everything.”
“It could have been helpful if you did. We wouldn’t have had to wait for the firemen to show up.”
“Yes, because it was going to be really easy for us to explain we had put the fire out using snow in the middle of the summer.” Years had passed since the incident, and Elsa still couldn’t believe Kristoff had yelled at her to ‘put the fire out’ over twenty times, not even thinking about the consequences.
“Do you remember dad’s face when he got to the parking lot with the other officers, only to find out we were the vandals? The old man looked so done!” They were both crying from laughter at that point. Thinking about Kai’s expression always cracked them up.
“I think he really regretted adopting us that night." Elsa remembered her father’s face perfectly, and she could only agree with Kristoff, the man had seemed so done and tired. “At least he didn’t have to pay for the damages.”
“I was lucky the insurance paid for everything.” If Kristoff had to be honest, he had only started laughing about that night after he had received the check from the insurance company.
After they both stopped laughing, Elsa asked, "have you ever told Anna that story?"
"No. I don't think I have," replied Kristoff, a lot more serious than before. Being on good terms with Elsa again and going out with her had helped him forget about his argument with Anna. But at the mention of her name, he remembered how incredibly stupid he had been and how much he missed her.
"That's odd. It seems like the kind of anecdote she would enjoy."
"Yeah. I'm sure she would."
Elsa soon noticed her brother's attitude change, making her worry. "Are you okay? You seem distracted." For lack of better words, thought Elsa. More than distracted he seemed sad and angered, the complete opposite to mere minutes before.
He knew Elsa was going to find out sooner or later about his fight with Anna, especially if he kept sulking instead of solving his problems; so he thought it was best to come clean and tell his sister about his problem. "Anna and I had a fight," he admitted. "We haven't been talking lately."
"What?" The last thing she had expected was for him to say something like that. She couldn’t believe he had kept that piece of information to himself the whole night. She soon thought it was strange how Anna hadn’t mentioned it either. Elsa couldn’t stop herself from feeling bad for not noticing both of them were hurting. "Since when?
"It’s been over a week now." He kept his eyes on the table. "I’ve been meaning to call her and set things right…"
"But?"
"But I’m afraid to call. What if she won’t talk to me. I behaved like an ass."
"What happened between you two? What did you do?"
Kristoff was about to tell Elsa about their argument when he realised she had been the main reason they had fought in the first place. Well, not the reason, but the main thing they have been discussing when it happened. He stopped himself in time and thought it was better to spare her the details. "We had a misunderstanding. And I asked her to leave the apartment."
"What was it about?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Kristoff…"
Kristoff crossed his arms and rested his back on the chair. “Trust me, what we fought about isn’t important. I know we can come to an agreement about that," he said, hoping Elsa would stop asking questions about it. "But I'm still afraid to call. What if she doesn't want to forgive me?”
“Don’t be silly, Kristoff. Call her and let her know how you feel. I’m sure she will forgive you.” Elsa remembered the way Anna had spoken about Kristoff that morning, and she couldn’t think of anything her sister-in-law had said or done to show she was mad at him.
“You are probably right.” He seemed to agree with her, but it was obvious to Elsa he still felt bad about the whole situation.
-
As Anna showed up on Friday evening at Elsa’s cottage, just like she had promised the previous week. This time she carried some clothes and a bag full of books for Elsa.
Both girls shared dinner together that night and talked about their week. Each one sharing what was new in their life. Anna had been ecstatic to find out Elsa no longer needed her cast, and that she was already working on her recovery. While Elsa, on her part, was happy to find out Anna had passed one of her tests with perfect marks. At some point during the night, however, Kristoff's name was mentioned and Anna’s expression fell considerably.
Elsa, knowing exactly what was wrong with the younger girl, stopped what she was saying and asked, “the idiot hasn’t called you yet, has he?”
“What?” asked Anna, surprised by the sudden question.
“Kristoff…” clarified Elsa. “I know you two had a fight, and for your expression I can see he hasn’t called you yet.”
“You know about- Wait, what do you mean he hasn’t called me yet?”
Elsa sighed. She considered herself socially inept, but sometimes she thought people around her weren’t far behind. How could Anna - or Kristoff for that matter - even consider the possibility that the other didn’t want to talk was beyond her. “I shouldn’t betray my brother’s trust by telling you this but Kristoff has been trying to call you for the last few days, he’s just afraid you’ll reject him.”
“Why would I reject him? I’ve been missing him like crazy,” confessed Anna.
Elsa smiled at that. It was obvious both of them were so respectful of each other’s wishes, they were making their relationship more complicated than it really was. “I don’t know why he thinks so… All I know is he misses you as much as you do. Please be patient with him. He’s just an idiot.”
Anna could only smile at her words. Elsa was so certain things were going to work out between them, she was literally asking her to relax and just wait for Kristoff to show up. “You know, you always sell yourself short, but you end up being the most sensible person of the three of us.”
“Of course I am,” said Elsa, sure of herself. "Unlike you two, I'm not in love."
Anna bursted out laughing at the comment. She then thanked Elsa for making her feel a lot better than she had in days.
A couple of hours later, when Anna had gone to bed - after yet another argument about who was sleeping in the main bedroom - Elsa called her brother and asked him to pay her a visit in the mountain. Kristoff, worrying for her sister’s well being, soon agreed and promised to get there before lunch the following day. Elsa knew that Kristoff was definitely going to get mad at her for setting him up with Anna like that. But she was willing to tolerate his irritation, if it meant he and Anna finally sat down solved their problems.
-
Agdar yawned as he walked to his bedroom late that night. He had been working since early afternoon in some contracts for the company and he was feeling exhausted. The weeks following Elsa’s incident had been chaotic, resulting in his work being neglected; and he was still trying to get his life back on track. Something that proved to be more than difficult, given the fact his mind was constantly drifting back to Elsa and Anna.
He entered the room, and he was surprised to find is wife sitting in bed, writing, scratching and mumbling to herself, instead of sleeping. “What are you doing?” he asked, curious to know what kept her occupied so late at night.
“I’m writing a letter,” answered Idunn unconsciously, not paying too much attention to her husband.
“A letter? To whom?”
"Elsa," she answered, somewhat ashamed of saying it out loud.
“What?” He knew his wife had been desperate to see and talk to Elsa since the last time they had seen her, but he believed it was better to be more patient, give her some more time before reaching out to her.
“I’m not planning to send them…” she explained. “It just helps with the pain. There’s so much I want to tell her...” She still felt silly writing letters that weren't going to be read, but writing down her feelings had helped her cope with the way she felt. After her conversation with Anna, where her daughter had explained Elsa's childhood had been a lot harder than she had originally imagined; Idunn had she had begun writing letters of sorts, to her eldest daughter.
Agdar understood Idunn’s pain, but he hadn’t imagined she had been doing something like that for days. There was nothing he wouldn’t give to see his family overcome their pain and sadness. Agdar’s train of thought was interrupted by the telephone before he got the chance to answer to his wife. He looked at her then with a puzzled look on his face. “Were you expecting a call?”
“No.”
Agdar hurried to the living room and picked up, hoping it was nothing related to the company or his work in general. Great was his surprise when Kai greeted him on the other line.
“Kai, I was not expecting- No, I wasn’t. It’s okay,” he said reassuring the older man he hadn’t been sleeping. “Tomorrow? Yes, tomorrow is perfect,” he agreed in a heartbeat. “Thank you.”
“Who was it?” asked Idunn from the door. She knew it was important by the look Agdar’s expression.
“It was Kai… He wants to meet us tomorrow.”
“What?”
“He wants to talk to us. About Elsa.”
“Will Elsa be-?”
“No, she won’t be there,” he interrupted, not wanting to give his wife false hopes. “But Gerda and him are willing to answer our questions.”
“They changed their mind?” she asked, hopefully.
Agdar nodded, knowing perfectly well Idunn was now feeling as excited and nervous as he was. Their chance to reconnect with their eldest daughter was only a few hours away.
--
Thank you all for your comments. I love this story and I want to finish it. It’s my personal challenge. But it’s really nice to see what you guys think of every chapter.
This chapter took a little bit longer than I originally imagined. I kept changing things as I edited it. So much, that I almost have the next chapter written. So, this means you won’t have to wait so long to know how Kai and Gerda adopted Elsa! I’m really excited to share her past with you after so long!
As always, let me know what you think – what you like, what you hate – everything helps me improve! Feel free to share the story if you want too.

What I’d change about the DCEU
My DCEU change list! However, I will not just be changing how the current movies change, Since this is my own version of the DCEU I will be putting the big individual movies before so it actually feels like world building instead of mashing everything together until they fit.
My other DC changes
Arkhamverse
Burtonverse Changes
Nolanverse Changes
DCTV Changes
Man Of Steel
Keep Krypton as it is, however, ensure that  Lara-El actually shows emotion knowing that Jor-El has died and her only son has been sent away to a far away world as her own planet is about to die along with her
Keep the flashbacks similar, his mom helps him with controlling his abilities, but that’s how it starts, then we see Clark with the cape on, then saving the kids, then restraining himself and then the tornado(more on that later) but after the first flashback scene rather than him as a drifter he awakes as a reporter at the Daily Planet and the oil rig scene is a story he works on and he’s a green horn as a part of the story and he saves the crew. We have Clark Kent. Superman is the mask Clark Kent puts on.  Clark Kent is Superman, not Superman is Clark Kent. We see Superman saving people and smiling to reassure the people he’s saving that he is there for them and instills hope in the people of Smallville and Metrtopolis.
Jonathan Kent isn’t a complete asshole.   I understand that Jonathan wanted Clark to keep his powers a secret because he didn’t want him exposed and taken away, but Jonathan Kent is supposed to inspire Clark and to instill in him good morals and beliefs that make Clark the hero we all know him to be. He doesn’t tell him that maybe he should have let the kids died, he actually is supportive and assures that Clark is doing the right thing. More inspirational stuff like  “You are my son. But somewhere out there you have another father too, who gave you another name. And he sent you here for a reason, Clark. And even if it takes you the rest of your life you owe it to yourself to find out what that reason is. “ And “You just have to decide what kind of a man you want to grow up to be, Clark; because whoever that man is, good character or bad, he’s… He’s gonna change the world.” And Jonathan does not die for stupid reasons, Clark saves Jonathan. If Clark saved Jonathan it would prove to him that the world is ready
The Phantom Zone look like it is in Injustice because it ACTUALLY looks like a hellish prison of eternal torment, instead of dildo ships being frozen
Jimmy Olson is in the movie and is a main character with Lois and Perry and he isn’t pointlessly killed off in the beginning of the sequel
The Jor-El AI in the fortress of Solitude would explain to Clark what Kryptonite is and warn him of the dangers of it
Zod’s plan to revive the Kryptonians remains the same, but not terraforming, it made absolute no sense whatsoever.  Earth's current environiment grants them super powers. I know Zod mentions the pain of acclimation, but that seems trivial in the face of invulnerability, super strength and laser eyes. Plus considering Zod’s crew were bred for war, it seems dumb to just keep them powerless. But I would add instead of destruction porn via generic doomsday device, classic Zod’s bid for domination would take effect he wouldn’t view humans as equals so he would want to take over earth and take it for his people.
The same thing happens, they use Clark’s ship to trigger the Phantom Zone(only Dr Hamilton doesn’t die)
Clark would not kill Zod. Clark would instead incapacitate Zod and place him in a special prison. Together Clark and Dr Hamilton build a special prison to hold Zod. Made with the Red Sun technology from Zod's ship and the Kryptonite from the world engine.
Superman is hopeful and optimistic. Superman is the most human superhero of them all. He’s kind, he’s decent, he does good whenever he can and generally wants to help people and make their lives better. He’s the champion of the human race that adopted a strange visitor from another planet. He CAN’T be hopeless. He CAN’T be the brooder. He’s supposed to be the hero to hope to be. The one who is the ideal of other heroes. The one who never gives up on us, no matter how far we fall.  Superman is an idealistic character. He’s the kind, loving person from the comics and the animated universe.  He’s kind, he’s decent, he does good whenever he can and generally wants to help people and make their lives better. He’s the champion of the human race that adopted a strange visitor from another planet. Superman saves people. It’s not a decision he comes to through trauma and failure. It’s just who he is. He’s a good person
The Batman. The Batman is not out yet, but it should be the second movie of the DCEU, instead of Frank Miller worshiping garbage...I mean Batman V Superman
The biggest mistake of the DCEU is it is terrible at world building. It just forces everything to stick until it’s watchable. We did not earn Batman V Superman or Justice League. Phase 1 should be Man Of Steel, The Batman, World’s Finest, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern Corps and Martian Manhunter.
The Batman would be about Batman and Joker. It’s a Batman who has been for 20 years. Explains all the villains, his relationship with Gordon, show that Dick became Nightwing, Barbara is Oracle and Jason is Robin. Jason dies in this movie Joker kills Jason and Batman beats him with an inch of his life. This is the start of Bruce’s extreme justice to the criminals.
Batman V Superman:Dawn Of Justice or as I would re-title it World’s FInest
The Death of The Wayne’s is a mugging gone wrong and there’s a struggle for the pearls. It is presented as what it’s meant to be. A mugging gone wrong. Show Joe Chill grabbing Martha’s pearls, Thomas struggling to defend Martha and Joe kills Thomas and then Martha. Thomas’ dying words being the same from Batman Begins. “Bruce, don’t be afraid”  It was a nice moment, and it ties into Bruce's conflict with Clark (given how most of his anger towards Clark is born of fear).
The Bat symbol looks like it does in the Arkhamverse. Stop the overworship of Frank Miller and let the Bat symbol look like a Bat and not look like Dark Knight Returns
Tumblr media
Lex Luthor is played by Terry O’Quinn, or Bryan Cranston.
No Doomsday, instead of Doomsday it’s AMAZO, save Doomsday for a future Superman movie and give us AMAZO for the reason to bring the league together.
Lex Luthor uses the Kryptonian attacks as a campaign against Superman
Lex is not a whiny and annoying little know it all brat who keeps bringing up his father, he is a genius and he knows it, he doesn’t need to constantly flaunt it, and he isn’t a mix of Joker and Riddler, this is Lex Luthor! All Eisenberg’s Lex was...just annoying. Lex Luthor is cunning, he’s a genius, a criminal mastermind and will ignore all ethical boundries until his goals are met. When Luthor is in the room, he owns it. Every word that comes out of his mouth is meticulously planned and he is a master manipulator. The reason why he is such a brilliant Superman villain is because even though he has no physical powers, he can always beat the Man Of Steel on intellect alone. Hears why DCAU Luthor will always surpass the DCEu Luthor “do you know how much power I'd have to give upto be President? That's right, conspiracy buff. I spent 75 million dollars on a fake Presidential campaign, all just to tick Superman off."  But instead of this dark, brooding, cunning and intimidating Luthor, we just got an annoyance. He is basically pulling everyone’s strings and when the players realize it, they’re too late, just like DCAU Lex.
Jimmy and Mercy aren’t pointlessly killed off
Batman doesn’t kill, he is more extreme like branding criminals, but he doesn’t kill or use guns
Superman does not constantly doubt himself and brood throughout the entire movie, he is heroic and he actually smiles to reassure the people he saves will be alright(how do you expect someone you’re trying to save will trust you if you frown and brood while saving them?)
Perry White isn’t an incompetent moron for the entire movie. He lets Clark pursue the Batman, he doesn’t constantly tell him to do a sports piece, he has Lombardi(he was in Man of Steel) for that
This is not BVS, it’s The World’s Finest. They fight at first but Bruce realizes he has been used by Lex and they unite to expose and stop him but are too late as AMAZO attacks
Before the fight with AMAZO,  Bruce confides in Clark about Jason.  Bruce realizes that a lot of his hatred for Superman is because he blames himself for Jason's death, and since he blames Superman for the deaths of those killed in the Metropolis fight, he was projecting. He realizes this and stops.  It would have been HEARTBREAKING to see. By the end of the fight, Bruce is screaming "YOU FAILED!", and it's pretty obvious he's screaming at himself.
The three beat AMAZO and Superman lives and they work together to unite the Justice League
Cast Gemma Areton as Wonder Woman and don’t cast that fucking zionist racist ableist rape apologist garbage Gal Gadot
Suicide Squad
More Captain Boomerang, less Rick Flag
Harley Quinn looks like a jester and uses her mallet. Harley’s look was okay...but just didn’t feel like Harley. If anything either have it be the classic look we got in the flashbacks, her Assault On Arkham look, Arkham City concept art or the Brian Azzarello look  and make her feel like Harley, and not like how they turned Harley into Lollipop Chainsaw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More friendship between the whole squad(not just Harley and Deadshot, Deadshot and Flag) Deadshot and Boomerang is pretty much Brotp, Harley and Croc have a friendship and Katana is a loner
Enchantress is saved for the sequel.
The Joker is the villain.  Replace Leto as The Joker with Joe Giligun or Willam Dafoe and for the love of god scrap David Ayer’s god awful Drug lord of Instagram inspiration. This is the Joker, not Scarface. The Joker is not a gangster or a pimp, The Joker is a force of nature, the anarchy of Gotham, symbolizing that life is the joke and death is the punchline. But basically Joker is the villain and Joker decides to take a holiday from Gotham. He steals a chemical weapon and plans to unleash it. Task Force X is assembled. Harley and Croc have a reason to be on Task Force X because of their history with The Joker. The flashbacks would basically be the same but the scene where Batman is chasing Joker and Harley, Joker leaves Harley to die to save himself, but like in the comic Mad Love while Harley is in prison she gets a flower with a rose saying “get well soon. Love J” Also make it clear that Joker and Harley is an abusive relationship, its not that black and white we all know that but having it in would be better than the fanfic we actually got and better than making Joker’s motivation being to see Harley. It’s a complex relationship and I just felt like we got Joker and Harley watered down. Pretty much have it end with Joker being defeated because of Harley and show that she’s free of him but still show she’s a villain but at the end we see a rose like in Mad Love with a note from J and we see Harley uncertain but a smile at her last scene.
Wonder Woman
Gemma Areton plays Diana and Lynda Carter plays Hippolyta
Scrap all mention of Zeus and the possibility that Diana got her shitty New 52 origin of Diana being another Zeus dick joke. Diana was sculpted by Hippolyta, Athena and Hera. It would make a whole lot more sense to have it be Athena considering that Ares and Athena are rivals in Greek Mythology.
Do more with Doctor Poison. Let’s say that Steve has a reason to steal her research outside of duty. Let’s say Dr Poison made a prototype that killed the majority of Steve’s team and he escapes with her research. That would have given us an emotional stake for Steve and a reason for Dr Poison to exist beyond her weapon as she would be the villain for Steve Trevor and Ares would be Diana’s Villain.
Only thing I would change about Ares is that  I'd still have Ares reveal, but I would not have Ares controlling the Germans and Allies. I'd go by this particular Lucifer quote for Ares "Why do they blame me for all their little failings? They use my name as if I spent my entire day sitting on their shoulders, forcing them to commit acts they would otherwise find repulsive. 'The Devil made me do it.' I have never made any one of them do anything. Never. They live their own tiny lives. I do not live their lives for them." humans waged war of their own will, Ares just gained power because of the war
Justice League
No awful Whedon reshoots
No Whedon bullshit.  No Barry falling into Diana's clevage, no awful CGI to cover Henry’s mustache,  and no "Did Steve Trevor tell you that? and no Lois Lane is “thirsty” grow the fuck up you piece of shit.
Martian Manhunter instead of Cyborg. I love Cyborg, but I feel like it is wasted potential to not have Cyborg appear in a Teen Titans movie. I really think it’s a mistake to make Cyborg one of the Justice League founders in the movies. It should be The  Martian Manhunter because J'onn NEEDS to be one of the founders and Cyborg works best with The Teen Titans. I feel it was a mistake for Cyborg to become a founder instead of J’onn. But if you have to have Cyborg in the movie how about actually make a costume or use practical effects so it’s not all bad CGI.
Make the goddamn costume for Steppenwolf or use practical effects. Don’t be fucking lazy and just use CGI. Designing a costume is not that fucking hard.
Make Aquaman a hero for the ocean, fishing villages,  Eskimo tribes and show Arthur fighting oil companies and less of a surfer dude who spouts one liners
No Mother Boxes. Just let Steppenwolf and Parademons  invade Earth on their own, and have his reason to prepare the Earth for Darkseid’s arrival.
Let Henry Cavill to keep his mustache for  Clark’s return. There is no point in  using horrible CGI to cover it up. Let his return be like the comics. in BVS the soil was rising, so his resurrection did not ned the mother box. After returning, he returns with facial hair and long hair.  And he resurrects with no rage to attack the heroes or anyone else. But the does return to  Lois and Martha. and his return to the heroes is like this
Tumblr media
After Steppenwolf is defeated, Lois tells Clark he should shave and we see a scene like this
Tumblr media
and the movie ends the same way

Apologies
I want to apologise for the delays in releasing the request fanfics. There have been some issues going on IRL that I was hoping would be resolved by the end of last week, but they weren’t. Because fo this, I can’t say for certain when I will be able to release each request fic. But have no fear, because I will endeavour to release all of them after editing them when I have time. I am planning on releasing one within the hour, so fingers crossed.
With this said, I would like to thank the requesters who have been so patient with me. As a token of my gratitude, below are previews of the requests (please note they’re subject to change, from the title to the content):
Reunions
Rating: K+
Setting: Fae AU.
Synopsis: Sequel to Worlds Apart. A few months after Toshiro returned to the Frozen Heavens, Momo decides to reunite him with the friend who helped him get up there in the first place.
Momo sneaks between the long grass blades, crouching as far she can without losing her balance. The grass bends over her in arches, much taller than the sprite who steps around small rocks and pebbles in her way. When her dress snags on a budding blade, she pulls at the skirt. Need to fix this.
She scans around for cover and quickly darts behind a large rock. She grabs the ends of her dress and ties them all to one corner, making the skirt come to her mid thigh. She takes the moment to think up of a strategy. She needs to change the feeling of the air around her; she needs to make her opponents feel like they are one being hunted, not her.
However, the hair on the back of her neck rise and she sweeps around, hands raised to cast fire.
 The Before and After
Rating: K+
Setting: A year before Ichigo and co. entered the Soul Society, then a year after the Winter War.
Synopsis: Before Ichigo arrived and even after the war with the Quincy, Toshiro and Momo’s lives are always busy. Will they ever find the time to see each other?
She sits on the edge of the veranda, looking out to the garden with Gin’s infamous persimmon tree at the centre. However, her head tilts down to the paperwork in her lap, and he can faintly hear her chastising herself for getting distracted.
That almost made the corner of his lip twitch upward. Typical bed-wetter.
But that begged the question; what was she doing here? He’s quickly given the answer when he senses Aizen’s reiatsu nearby in the Third division office, along with Gin’s.
Looking at her now, other questions start to rise up. When was the last time he saw her? Did he even have time to speak with her now? More importantly, when would he get this chance again?
Untitled (at this stage)
Rating: K+
Setting: Before the war with the Quincy.
Synopsis: (BrOTP Matsumoto) What was supposed to be a girl’s night out turns into a girl’s night in after Momo has a particularly bad fight with Toshiro.
“Hey, Hinamori, you in there?”
Momo almost jumped out of her skin. Somehow, she managed to not make a sound, but she still brings her hands up over her mouth. She lowers her reiatsu when Rangiku knocks on her door. Didn’t she receive her Hell butterfly?
“I know you’re in there…I think. Maybe it’s just reiatsu traces.” She mutters the last part to herself. “But then I did feel a flare of it just then, so...” She hears Rangiku shuffle before she peaks again. “Hina-chan, why aren’t you answering me?”
Momo bites the inside fo her cheek. What good could come of this? Tonight, she should was supposed to go out with her friend, but in the end, all she’d done is led here to comfort her. She could have just gone and found Shuhei or Izuru to drink with her, but she chose to come here. She’s too good of a friend...
Sighing through her nose and wiping the few strays tears still running down her cheeks, Momo stands and shuffles to the door.
“If you’re sick, then just knock on the wall or something. I totally understand if you’re not -”
Momo slides the door aside. Rangiku flinches back. “Hey, there you are!” She freezes when their eyes meet. She blinks, then frowns. “Hey...what’s wrong?”
It’s all in the Technique
Rating: K+
Setting: Several decades into the future; they’re in their early adult years.
Synopsis: Being in the early stages of dating and training for bankai leads to some interesting results.
She parrys off to the side, slicing Tobiume at his right shoulder. He dodges in the nick of time, the blade graving over his haori but not cutting through it.He takes the opening offered to him and thrusts his hand out towards her sword hand. “Hado one, sho!”
The kido wrenches her arm back, and with a gasp, she lets go of Tobiume. He uses the same kido on her abdomen, sending her stumbling backwards and tipping over.
But he’d never let her fall. Time slows as uses flash-step to shift forward, leaning over her falling form. His arm lunges out and loops around her waist, catching her with a grunt.
Momo, too stunned to talk, merely blinks. Both of their chests heave for air, an neither can break their gaze from the others. Eventually, Momo lowers her leg - frozen mid fall - to the ground, and loosens her hold on him from death grip to firm.
Her chuckle is breathless. “Why do I get the feeling you planned this?”
Toshiro vaguely shakes his head, a chuckle of his own bubbling from his lips. “I didn’t.”
Memento
Rating: K
Setting: A few months after Isshin’s disappearance from the Soul Society.
Synopsis: In which Gin tries to make amends for a transgression Rangiku doesn’t even know he was involved in…or, how Rangiku got her scarf on her birthday.
Gin comes around to the otherside of the table, kneeling down and gently pulling her arm over his shoulders. “All right, Ran-chan, time to get you home.”
“Ugh,” she groans as he eases her up. When they reach the door of the restaurant, she exclaims. “I’m not that drunk!”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah, see, watch this!” She pulls away from him and takes a step forward…and falls straight for the ground.
Gin catches her before her knees hits the dirt. “Easy there, Ran-chan!”
“Stop calling me that!” She pouts. “Why am I so drunk?”
He merely shrugs and helps steady her. His arm returns around her waist while her’s loops around his neck. They walk back at a slowy pace, getting looks from other festival-goers. Gin ignores them, focused only on finding the quickest path to get Rangiku back to her quarters. He consiers flash-stepping, but Gods knows what that’d do - he wouldn’t be surprised if that made her queasy.
She mumbles incoherant nothings under her breath, and it comes as a shock to him when her head suddenly shoot ups and she exclaims, “Gin! Look!”

Dr Who: The Tag Game
Tagged by: the excellent @natalunasans
Doctor you started with: 10. I was curious about the fandom and wanted to see what all the hype was about, so I did some research about what the “best” episode was. I ended up watching Blink.
Favourite Doctor: 12. (I’m ridiculously fond of 7, 8, and 9, though.)
Favourite Companion: Donna Noble
Favourite Episode: probably Midnight or Heaven Sent
DW OTP: mmmm…. not a big shipper. I love seeing how people interpret relationships, but I can’t say I have an otp?
Favourite line/quote: recently I’ve been thinking a lot about “Good is good in the final hour, in the deepest pit, without hope, without witness, without reward. Virtue is only virtue in extremis.”
Favourite Character that isn’t the Doctor or a companion: probably Missy
BrOTP: Bill Potts and 12. I just. love ‘em to death. They’re best buds.
Favourite DW fic (if you have one): see this one is problematic because I read too many dw fics. Heartbeats in Measures to a Familiar Tune is a fantastic, thoughtful, story that owns my soul. I’ve reread it like three times.
Favourite DW fanart/blog (if you have one): I have to say I’m a huge fan of @halorvic and @johannesviii
If you could pick anyone to be the next Doctor, who would it be? (Why, if you feel like explaining): oh, I can’t say I’m terribly opinionated about the matter! I’m sure I’ll come to love and adore whoever they cast next.
If you could pick anyone to be the next companion who would it be? (Why?): I historically take longer to accept new companions than new doctors, but once again, I always end up loving them. whatever happens, I’ll be good. :)
Favourite fan theory: recently I’ve found myself entertained by speculation about when, exactly, the Doctor watched Frozen.
Are there team TARDIS movie nights with Bill and Nardole? Did Clara sit him down and force him to watch it? 70 years is a long time, he could have watched it with Missy in the vault. And then there’s always Darillium and domestic bliss, did he and River watch many movies?
Then again, who’s to say Twelve was the one who watched it? Frozen came out in November of 2013, when we still had Eleven. I’m not exactly sure how the Pond's timeline matches up with that (the Doctor kept skipping years), but a Pond family movie night isn’t outside the realms of possibility. Of course, the Doctor is a time traveler, so speculating about what regeneration he was in could be entirely useless. *shrugs*
Other fandoms: oh golly, let’s see… cosmere, avengers, leverage, fantastic beasts, voltron, new albion trilogy, sherlock, and does @thursdayplaid‘s Wee Doctor series count as its own fandom? because I am absolutely part of that fandom.
Tagging: @heyyoufriendthere, @thedoctorisadhd, @ampersands-and-guitars, @nephyria, and @broceidon-king-of-the-brocean if you guys are interested in doing this I’d love to see your answers!
