The straight cambric collar, underlined with a velvet bias, is adorned in front, as well as the plastron, with silver embroidered motifs; the small lapels framing the collar are made of velvet.
The half-length sleeves are made of velvet and draped; they are finished in batiste cuffs embellished with silver embroidery; the bottom of the skirt is circled with stitching.

His upper tunic was of white cambric, as fine as a handkerchief, so that the bright red tunic beneath it showed through.

make me a cambric shirt without any seam or needlework? double weave exchanging the layers to connect the front and back halves of the shirt in the places you would put a seam.
wash it in yonder dry well which never sprung water nor rain ever fell? wash it in a bucket of water carried to the dry well.
dry it on yonder thorn which never bore blossom since adam was born? adam wasn't born, he was created, so all thorns have born no blossoms since an event that never happened.
the elfin knight really needs to get more selective screening criteria for potential dates

Book Blurb:
Never-turned-werewolf Jude is trapped.
Sold like a broodmare by her family. Engaged, claimed, and discarded by the son of her new pack’s alpha. Kept apart and secluded, a reminder that she’s broken, a shameful secret to hide away.
Jude is left alone and in heat with no one . . . no one but the shadowy bodyguard in her fiancé's employ. Lux is sinister and silent, invisible in the shadows — for everyone but her. As Jude and her incorporeal jailer grow closer, she can’t imagine captivity without him.
When a lifeline appears, Jude has the opportunity to break free, but she can't do it alone. She must be willing to embrace the darkness . . . if only the darkness will embrace her in return.
Shadows & Light is a high heat novella set in the Cambric Creek universe, intended only for an adult audience. Full content advisories available on the author’s website. Welcome to the Cambric Creek After Darkverse, where there's not as much sugar and a lot more spice. Our stories still take place in the community you already know and love, but these will not be the frothy, fun, cotton candy confections you're used to, and they will not all wrap up with a neat little HEA bow. This isn't dark romance, but it's considerably dimmer than the light-hearted romps you might be used to from Cambric Creek. You can expect detailed content advisories and HFN endings, but please don't mistake this for our main series. For those readers who don't care to walk the streets of Cambric Creek at night, fear not, my loves! I know this won't be everyone's cuppa, and that's okay — there are plenty more stories in the Sweet & Steamy series ahead!

I read this so fast I didn't have time to make more notes. This felt a little slow compared to Morning Glory Milking Farm, but it didn't detract from the story at all. It was really good! I enjoyed seeing the story again from a different point of view. I also enjoyed seeing a romance exclusively from the "hero's" point of view. Rourke fell HARD and maybe was a little obsessed, but everyone involved is okay with it, so I can't judge too hard.
I love Cambric Creek, and look forward to more installments!
"Rourke thought that seemed a tad optimistic and was just a way to insinuate minotaurs were superior when measured up to, say, orcs. Well, definitely superior to orcs like Khash."
I will have no bad talking Khash, Rourke!
-
It's interesting to see this side of the MGMF story. I like that one a lot, and I liked Rourke.
I like him less here, but only because I know the place he's in after a bad break up. It's hard to look for someone when you think you're broken and you slightly hate other people's relationships.
It's okay, buddy. You'll be okay.

"Why don’t I deserve to be happy right now? This version of me, the person I am today. Why isn’t she just as deserving of love as anybody else?

La Mode illustrée, no. 50, 14 décembre 1873, Paris. No. 1. Coin de mouchoir. (Point de Gênes.) Ville de Paris / Bibliothèque Forney
No. 1.
No. 1. This work is carried out on cambric, with a festoon. We trace the design on the cambric, we trace the contours, we make the festoon and at the same time the scalloped bars, using fairly fine cotton. The picots are executed, which are also scalloped. Arabesques are embroidered; we cut the batiste below and outside the contours of the work, when it is finished.

Serious though the amount of time someone go "if you just not have disability, you could work your way around having disability" is past silly.
Used to think meant "Am not understanding your disability, genuine think you can do this. Genuine think am helping. Want you be able to do this for own sake".
Now think more often means "You too inconvenient to accommodate, so is your job to fix. Only way you're allowed is if can complete an impossible task."

Book Blurb: The Azathé Tea Room is a strange place, indeed. There are no servers, no menus — do mind our hostess, though, she can get a bit underfoot! Help yourself to a book while you wait, and be sure to shuffle your tarot deck well before placing your order. Harper Hollingsworth wasn’t looking for a friend. She wanted peace and quiet. Someplace to lose herself in a book and not think about her grief, not think about her coven or her disconnect from the craft, not think about being the odd goth out everywhere she went. She didn't want to think about her lack of magical ambition, as she was regularly told by her mother's poison-tongued familiar, and how her life had fallen apart since the death of her father. More than that — she didn't want to feel. Anything. To the strange, seldom seen owner of one of Cambric Creek's oddest businesses, tea is more than just a beverage. They take pride in both their blends and their unorthodox method of teasing out the order each guest needs to sate more than their thirst. Azathé brews more than a fine cup of tea — they steep the smell of memories, the anticipation of the future, pain and loss, hope and longing, an elixir of health and comfort and feeling in every cup. Residing unseen in the shadows gets a bit lonely at times, an undignified emotion for one as old as themselves, and so they have made it their business to get to know their unwitting neighbors one cup of tea at a time. Guests may not know what to expect when they step over the shop's threshold, but the owner guarantees they will feel something before they leave. Companionship wasn’t Harper's aim the day she stepped into the odd little tea room, just off Cambric Creek’s bustling Main Street. She wanted to settle into the shadows and get lost there, and if she had to talk to anyone, it would be to herself. She didn’t expect the shadows to talk back. The shadowy proprietor of the Azathé Tea Room isn’t content to watch Harper sink into depression day after day within the walls of their establishment. Once they intervene, Harper is drawn into their world of oddity and emotions, where the darkest shadows can reside in the light, and even the most mildly macabre witch can find her place. Two For Tea is a human/monster romance featuring a bi demisexual F witch and a non-binary (and very non-human) shadow creature. It is set in the world of Cambric Creek, but can be enjoyed as a standalone, but will best be appreciated read as part of the series. Themes included: ALL the creepy/cozy aesthetic, acceptance of grief, working through depression, why choose appendages, finding one's place. This is a high heat romance intended only for mature audiences.
Review:
A witch who feels lost and drowning in her grief finds solace in a tea room, and finds herself falling for the shadow creature who owns the tearoom. Harper is a witch who has felt out of place all her life and found herself drowning in her grief after her father's passing. Her mother is disappointed in her and Harper feels so disconnected from the witch community. After moving to Cambric Creek she vows to try to at least explore and try and do something about her grief, and thats when she discovers the Azathé Tea Room. A beautiful tea place run by a shadow creature who only seems to communicate with her, who somehow has awakened something in her and has given her understanding and companionship she never knew she could have. The shadowy proprietor of the tea room isn't content to let Harper fall into her depression and decides to intervene... but what Harper wants is something more, and so begins a very sweet relationship between a bi demisexual female witch and a non-binary non-human shadow creature. This is such a cozy/creepy aesthetic book and I absolutely adored it so much. I can't wait to see more of these characters and more of the cat familiar Holt in the next books!!
