"Y/L/N."
"Oh, what now?" you whined, nursing your coffee, arm curled around your healing ribs when a now dry Agent Coulson stepped up to you.
"We're going to interrogate, Thor."
"You want me to interrogate the guy that just kicked my ass?"
"Yes." He looked at you, hands folded across his front. "Is that a problem, Agent?"
"No, sir." You shook your head.
"Good." With a bow of his head, he started walking from the room, leaving you to follow after him. "We're going to be playing 'good cop, cop that won't shut up'."
"I'm the one that won't shut up, right?"
"Yes."
With a dramatic gasp, you said, "It's the part I was born to play."
"I can tell."
You didn't allow Thor to see you hurt as you entered the makeshift interrogation room he was being held in. Posture straight even with the added strain upon your ribs, moving to lean against the wall just behind where Coulson now stood, watching the blonde intently.
"You made my men, some of the most highly trained professionals in the world, and Y/N-"
"Hey!"
"-Look like a bunch of minimum-wage mall cops."
"I take offence to that," you groaned, deciding against leaning against the blindingly white wall, pushing yourself up off it to step up beside the suited man. Pushing your hands into the pockets of your -dry- pants.
"That's hurtful."
"Yeah, you're tellin' me," you sassed to Coulson.
"In my experience," he continued, still speaking to Thor, making you fling your arms up into the air in reaction, playing the part, "It takes someone who's received similar training... to do what you did to them."
"Yeah, that or steroids."
"Why don't you tell me where you received your training? Pakistan? Chechnya? Afghanistan?" The agent gestured a hand out to you. "My associate here was once in the military. Perhaps you two have friends who run in similar circles or were trained in the same country." Then he shook his head. "No. You strike me more as the soldier of fortune type."
"That's a possibility? You tellin' me I could have been like a cooler version of Indiana Jones, but with more money?"
"Where was it? South Africa?"
"Chad?" you offered.
"Certain groups pay very well for a good mercenary like you. Who are you?"
The man stared up at you and your superior. Never uttering a single word.
"What I would like yo know is why a mercenary is going around acting as if they're the Norse God Thor," you spoke into the silence, "I mean, wouldn't you just be drawing unwanted attention to yourself? Or is that what you want? People to think you're crazy so that they would leave you alone and not get in your way? Well, if that's the case, you didn't think it through much, did ya'? Considering the fact that you were strapped down to a bed within no time."
"One way or another, we find out what we need to know. We're good at that." Just then, Phil's pager beeped in his pocket. "Don't go anywhere." With a tap to your arm and a nod with his head, he gestured for you to follow him back out of the room. Leaving Thor to think on his own for a while.
"You think he's gonna talk?"
"Everyone talks eventually," Phil answered assuredly.
"What about monks?"
---
"Selvig?" you asked when you spotted the scientist, flanked by two S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents.
"Oh, hello again, Agent..."
"Y/L/N," you filled in for him.
Eric nodded, turning to the man just in front of you, "And Agent Coulson."
"What are you doing here?" Phil asked, cutting straight to the chase.
"I uh, I think there's been some sort of a misunderstanding," he said almost bashfully, "The man you've arrested isn't who you think he is. That's Dr Donald Blake. Not Thor."
"His name is Donald Blake?" Coulson asked, disbelieving.
"Dr Donald Blake," the scientist corrected.
"He make his own 'roids? Because Jesus Christ, he's a beast."
"Exactly." Phil nodded. "You have dangerous co-workers, Dr Selvig."
"He was distraught when he found out that you're taken all of our research," he explained. The breeze of the night air ruffled his greying hair, "That was years of his life, gone! You can understand how a man could go off like that? A big, faceless organization like yours, coming in with their jackbooted thugs and-" He stopped talking suddenly, as everyone stared him down. "That's how he put it."
You snorted, shoulder raising up in amusement at the man. Phil shooting you a quick look.
"That still doesn't explain how he managed to tear through our security."
"Like Agent Y/L/N said. Steroids!" He threw his arms out at his sides. "He's a bit of a fitness nut."
Suddenly, you were alerted to the sound of an alarm beeping through the computer that one of the technicians was working on. Verifying the identification of the blonde Eric had told you about.
"Sir?"
You looked over at the monitor with Phil. Spotting a driver's licence with the blonde's face. A giant red banner across the screen read 'FALSIFIED DATA', and by the looks of it seemed to be poorly done. Expecting that their intern, Darcy, had whipped it up for them.
"It says here that he's an M.D.," Phil said, turning back to the man.
Mild shock filled you at the agent's lie, hiding it behind a mask you were still getting used to wearing before you realized that the man must have his reasons.
"Well, he is! Or he was," Eric stuttered, "He, uh, switched careers and became a physicist. A b-brilliant physicist. He's a- He's a wonderful ma. He's a man in pain."
"Okay." Phil nodded.
Eric could hardly believe his luck.
"What?"
Yeah, you were thinking the same thing.
"You can take him. It was our mistake. Just... try to control him next time."
"Of course." Eric smiled happily, nodding wildly.
'What ace did Coulson have up his sleeve?'
---
"Tail him?" you asked, watching as the two men walked from the base after Coulson had advised Eric against any bars.
"Yep. Barton!" he called to the dirty blonde standing outside the weapons trailer, waving him over, "You and Y/L/N are going to tail Thor, make sure he doesn't get into any trouble."
"That'll be hard, sir," 'Barton' chuckled, "He seems the type that trouble follows around."
Your eyes were squinted towards the man. Switching between him and Coulson before realization shone through your eyes.
"You were the one watching me in the diner, weren't you?"
"Told you they were better than most, didn't I?" Barton, still looking at Phil, nodded his head towards you.
"That's what the girls say about me, too... did I just diss myself? I'm not sure."
Barton laughed, "Come on, newbie. Let's go follow "Thor"," he remarked sarcastically, using air quotes for the man's name.
Oh, it was gonna be a long night.
---
For such a small town, the bar was packed.
Probably not much else to do during the free hours of the night.
You had managed to get a table in the back, with the perfect view of Thor and Selvig sitting at the bar.
Just like Natasha had, not even a week ago, you had changed in the car as Barton drove you two. Slipping on a darkened flannel shirt and well-worn jeans to fit in with the working people around the town. Blending in perfectly with the bar goers.
Clint -Barton's first name, as you had found out- being the only one out of the two of you that neither of the men had seen, volunteered to grab your drinks, hoping to catch a glimpse of what they were saying as he did.
"Here, ya' are," Clint said, manoeuvring into his seat next to you. Drinks in either hand, trying not to spill a drop, placing yours in front of you, "Thor's depressed."
"I got that from him screaming into the sky."
"You really think he's this Norse God?"
"'God'?" you scoffed, shaking your head at the man, "No. Powered? I think so. But, then again, it might actually just be steroids."
Casual conversation flowered between the two of you for a while, patrons ebbing from the bar as the night grew on.
Clint was on his third beer, and you, whisky. When you decided to finally ask the question.
"So, you were following me, huh?"
He nodded almost solemnly.
"If it makes you feel better, it was impressive for a rookie."
"I know. Coulson said the same. Do you normally train people during the job?"
"Not like this, no," he shook his head, "Coulson saw a valuable opportunity and took it."
You hummed at his words, throwing your head back once in an understanding nod.
"I saw you receive that medal. What was it for again?"
"'Exceptionally distinguished performance'," you said, thinking back to that day in D.C..
"That Senator sure seemed to like you."
"Oh, yeah. He's a sweetheart," you joked sarcastically to the grinning man, "A fucking tool, but a sweetheart."
Taking a swig of his beer, Clint wrung his cheeks in his mouth after swallowing before he moved to ask the question that had been bugging him since he found out you were joining them on this mission, "So, I take it you met Romanoff, then."
"You know Natasha?"
"I do." He nodded. "She's a very good friend of mine."
'Oh, Shit,' you thought when Clint's once friendly eyes suddenly turned cold and hard, looking deep into your soul, 'Don't tell him you fucked her. He'll kill you. Or at the very least try to.'
You nodded awkwardly. "Cool... I don't think she liked me much at the beginning."
"And at the end?"
'Fuck!'
"She disliked me a little less?"
Barton chuckled softly, seemingly relieved at your words, letting his head fall with a light shake.
"That sounds like Nat."
"How long have you known her?"
"A few years."
"Ah, you just beat me!"
---
"Can I ask you something?" you questioned after moments passed in almost comfortable silence. Eric and Thor, downing large mugs of beer behind you.
"Shoot."
"Why is Phil favouring me so much?"
"He's not favouring you," he scoffed.
"Yes, he is, don't bullshit me, Barton." You pointed at the man. "So, tell me the truth."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Are you kidding?" you asked sceptically, "I mouth off and sass him all the time, and he says nothing back to stop me. He sends me out on stakeouts I'm nowhere near qualified to be on. He brings me in with him to interrogate Thor." You jabbed your thumb over your shoulder towards the drinking blonde. "I ride with him in his car. He hasn't told me not to go anywhere back at base. I was with Sitwell in the tech room before Thor showed up. He's basically treating me like his right-hand man when I'm the newbie. And I want to know why."
Clint was silent for a short time, just processing your rant.
To most, the good treatment and favouritism would have been greatly appreciated. But it only made you suspicious.
"I know that I have my super strength and advanced everything else to push me up there a little, but not this much."
"I don't know why." Clint shrugged.
"No, but you have an inkling." Leaning forward in your seat, you pressed on. "And I think it's the same as mine."
"What reason do you think?"
"Coulson sent you to watch me. And Fury has him doing the same. But, for the life of me, I don't know why. 'Cause since I last knew, his super secret boy band fell through."
"It could be something to do with you being Tony's friend."
You laughed at that. "Fury's already said that Tony isn't at the top of his priorities, and I'm sure me just being his friend makes me less so."
"You made the right choice joining S.H.I.E.L.D.."
"Why's that?"
"You have a brain." Barton sighed when he realised you still wanted an answer to your question by the look on your face. "Listen, I don't know what Fury's planning, okay? No one ever does. Just know that he must think you're someone valuable to have here if he's treating you like this."
"He normally show favouritism like this?"
A scoff and a vehement shake of the head from the man. "Fury? If he has favourites, he doesn't like to make a show of it. He's got Coulson watching you for something, I don't know. I'm guessing this is just a tactic to see if you're worthy."
"Like lifting that hammer back at base?"
"Have you tried that?" Clint asked, eagerly leaning across the table.
"No. Coulson, wouldn't let me."
"Me neither, it's like-"
The man was cut off by the sudden tell-tale sound of glass smashing upon the ground, followed by Selvig's yell of, "Another!"
"Not this again," you sighed.
"Another!" Thor ordered, slapping a large palm into the bar top.
"At least this is a more fitting place for it," Clint reasoned, muttering into his glass as he watched the men over your shoulder.
"Another!"
"Well, there is that."
"Another!"
"Another!"
"I think I'm gonna need another," you commented, lifting your glass up to your lips.
---
"Why do drunk guys always sing?"
Clint's arm was draped over your shoulder, leaning heavily into your side, pretending to be hammered as you walked him through the cold night air, towards your parked car. Keeping a watchful eye on Thor and his -actually- drunk companion.
"Beats me," came his sober voice... well, maybe he was a little buzzed. But mostly sober!
"Dude, Eric passed out," you noted, nodding towards the man now draped over Thor's shoulder as he walked.
"Can you carry me like that?"
"Fuck right off."

Identity Porn Rec List
Some of my favorite fics that deal with the difficulties and complications of having a secret identity.
Identity porn is a mainstay of Stony fic, but there are also some gems from Stucky, SamSteve, and whatever the ship name for Steve/Matt Murdock is.
given you a number, taken away your name by janonny (@awesomelifechoices) (Stony, General Audiences, 4,520 words)
Summary: As Tony behaves more erratically, S.H.I.E.L.D. sends in Steve as an undercover agent in S.I. to be Natasha’s back-up. Except Steve is really, really not cut out for this undercover business. - Before the lift’s doors closed, Stark suddenly grinned and said, “Call me Tony. Have a better rest of the day, big guy.” Awkwardly, Steve lifted his free hand and waved as the doors slid shut between them. What...what was he doing? Why was he waving? Steve hurriedly put his hand down and turned around sharply.
How to Woo the Winter Soldier by writeonclara (@writeonclara) (Stucky, General Audiences, 21,570 words)
Summary: “I think I’m ready to date again,” Steve said. “What,” Natasha said. “What?” Clint said, lowering his binoculars. He blinked at the dumbstruck look on the Captain’s face, then followed his gaze to where he was staring dopily at—at the Winter fucking Soldier. “Steve, no,” Clint groaned. Or: Steve courts the Winter Soldier. Also available as a podfic read by Akaihyou (@akaihyou)
I (created from fantasies) exist solely for you by Mizzy (@mizzy2k) (Stony, Teen And Up Audiences, 62,917 words)
Summary: Six years ago, without the Avengers Initiative there to save the day, scientist Dr. Eric Selvig sacrificed himself to save the world, the almighty demi-god Thor was lost to a terrible storm, and vigilante Iron Man – spotted with a nuclear weapon trying to take advantage of the situation – was forever labelled an enemy of SHIELD. This is a comic book office AU, where Steve is defrosted a year too late, Thor has forgotten who he is, and no one knows Tony is Iron Man. Also includes: office pranks, inappropriate post-it notes, and superheroes who like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Also available as a podfic read by badfinch (@read-by-badfinch)
More below the cut!
Love Is A Masquerade by Mizzy (@mizzy2k) (Stony, Mature, 12,010 words)
Summary: *loudspeaker noise* Please present your tickets here for your trip on the Steve/Tony Fantasy Trope Land express. On your left we have Masquerade Balls and Identity Porn; on the right we have Steve's Thirst for Iron Man's Thighs and Dramatic Balcony Kissing. Please keep your arms and legs within the ride at all times, thank you. Also featuring Classic Iron Man armor, Identity-Porn-Without-Porn, and Boys-In-Tights. You will need to leave your expectations for plot at the entrance to the fic; be kind and please pick up your trash before you go. Look, it's unrepentant fluff and crack, don't look at me like that, you're the one still reading this summary. [aka] When the Avengers are invited to attend Tony Stark's Annual Masquerade Ball, Steve's hoping Iron Man will be there--after all, he can wear a mask and keep his identity secret. So when Steve recognizes Iron Man's distinctive thighs, Steve is SO sure he's found Iron Man's pilot... He's right, but not in a way Steve would ever have guessed... Also available as a podfic read by paraka (@paraka)
Masked and Anonymous by panickyintheuk (@shiningredandgold) (Stony, Explicit, 4,236 words)
Summary: "When Mr. Stark opened the door, he had his shirt untucked, and no shoes on. It was evening, and it was his own apartment, and Steve was dropping by unannounced, so that was all really fair enough, but it was also the least put-together Steve had ever seen him." Steve drops in on Avengers benefactor Mr. Stark, but it seems that Mr. Stark was expecting him.
Not Just Anybody (Help) by kototyph (Samsteve, Teen And Up Audiences, 9,349 words)
Summary: Sam meets a homeless veteran with a famous name.
Straight on till Morning by Sineala (@sineala) (Stony, Explicit, 109,848 words)
Summary: Tony Stark resigned his commission in Starfleet five years ago, after a disastrous away mission, and he swore he'd never go back. He just wants to be left alone to build warp engines in peace. But the universe has more in store for him than that, as he discovers when Admiral Fury comes to him with an offer he could never have expected and cannot possibly refuse: first officer and chief engineer aboard the all-new USS Avenger, a starship of Tony's own design. What's more, the Avenger's captain is Steve Rogers, hero of the Earth-Romulan War. Believed dead for over a century, Steve is miraculously alive... and very, very attractive. But nothing is ever easy for Tony. As he wrestles with his secret desire for his new captain and his not-so-dormant fears, another mission starts to go wrong, and Tony becomes aware that Steve has secrets of his own -- and the truth could change everything. Also available as a podfic read by M_Samro (@msamro)
Super Villain Dating Tips - Or How Steve Won Over Tony Through The Art of Kidnapping by forgetmenotjimmy (Stony, General Audiences, 46,265 words)
Summary: Steve isn't evil, he's just trying to do the right thing whilst hiding from an insane General who's out for his blood - literally - but when he is forced to kidnap Tony to help him escape the cops, his plans to take down the Secret Division that experimented on him, well, they get put on the back burner. How does a villain date a hero? More kidnapping of course!
The Blind Leading by SkyisGray (Stucky, Explicit, 43,034 words)
Summary: Steve is specifically told not to fraternize with the independently contracted Winter Soldier.
The Corruption of Captain America by the Villain Tony Stark by ladililn (@ladililn) (Stony, Explicit, 50,344 words (WIP))
Summary: Iron Man paused. “Oh my god. You thought I was a robot.” “No, I—” Steve felt his face flushing. “I…considered the possibility,” he admitted. “You thought I was a robot who’s been hitting on you.” “Is that really so crazy?” Steve felt an inexplicable need to defend himself. “In the forties, I fought a Nazi with a skull for a head.”
Think of This as Solving Problems (That Should Never Have Occurred) by Sineala (@sineala) (Stony, Teen And Up Audiences, 35,216 words)
Summary: No one knows Tony is Iron Man. Then Tony gets amnesia, and literally no one knows Tony is Iron Man.
To Make Much of Time by Sineala (@sineala) (Stony, Teen And Up Audiences, 16,114 words)
Summary: When Iron Man rejects Steve's romantic advances, Steve is disappointed, but of course he understands -- Iron Man's secret identity is important. But when a portal opens and Tony Stark crashes into their midst from twelve years in the future, Steve starts to suspect that there are more secrets here than he can even begin to comprehend, and neither Iron Man nor Tony are providing any answers. Also available as a podfic read by paraka (@paraka)
What Lies Behind by kdm103020, xinsomniac1101x (@kdm103020, with art by @xinsomniac1101x) (Stony, Teen And Up Audiences, 63,364 words)
Summary: Four months after the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers still hasn't managed to find his footing. The new century is strange and upsetting, and he appears to have no purpose in it. But when SHIELD sends him to liaise with the director of Stark Industries, his life starts to change in ways he could never imagine. Or, the MCU-rooted AU, in which Steve and Tony both still maintain their secret identities.
with liberty and justice for all by ria_green (Matt Murdock/Steve Rogers, Teen And Up Audiences, 14,020 words)
Summary: Steve and Matt's relationship is basically a romantic comedy. Except for one minor complication - they're both hiding their superhero/vigilante identities from each other.

Mamma Mia! (2008)
👰‍♀️🏝️🎶
Based on the smash hit Broadway stage musical, this jukebox musical film tells the story of a young bride-to-be who, in the hopes of finding her father, invites three men from her mother’s carefree past to attend her wedding.
An extraordinary ensemble cast includes: Meryl Streep as single mother/hotel owner/former lead singer Donna Sheridan, Amanda Seyfried as sunny soon-to-be-wed Sophie Sheridan, Pierce Brosnan as possible father number one/Irish-American architect Sam Carmichael, Stellan Skarsgård as possible father number two/Swedish travel writer Bill Anderson, Colin Firth as possible father number three/British banker Harry Bright, Dominic Cooper as Sophie’s fiancé Sky, Julie Walters as former backup singer/successful author Rosie Mulligan and Christine Baranski as former backup singer/wealthy divorcée Tanya Chesham-Leigh.
Meryl Streep is a miraculous talent that has it all: star power, exuberance and a singing voice that literally strikes a chord directly in the hearts and minds of fans and audiences. Amanda Seyfried is not just a shining star, but she’s got an angelic voice that exudes charm and potential. Together, Streep and Seyfried form a delightful onscreen dynamic between mother and daughter. Both actresses are backed by a trio of diverse actors who have basically played James Bond (Brosnan), King George VI (Firth) and MCU’s Dr. Eric Selvig (Skarsgård), respectively. What’s more, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski are a pair of excellent female troupers who add wisecracks and class to the mix.
The story takes place on a fictional island in Greece, which in turn reflects a vibrant society complemented by a picturesque backdrop. It is that particular setting where its inhabitants are engrossed in the idea of finding someone to share their lives with.
Throughout the course of the film, a string of budding romances start to develop, though not without its share of chaos. As such, a dumbfounded Donna struggles to reconcile her past affairs, while Sophie in turn struggles to identify her real father.
This particular musical (both the film and stage adaptation) is built around a selection of songs from Swedish pop supergroup ABBA. The track list includes: “I Have a Dream”, “Honey, Honey”, “Money, Money, Money”, “Chiquitita”, “Dancing Queen”, “Our Last Summer”, “Lay All Your Love on Me”, “Super Trouper”, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”, “Voulez-Vous”, “SOS”, “Does Your Mother Know”, “Slipping Through My Fingers”, “The Winner Takes It All” (sung to perfection in an arresting performance by Meryl Streep), “When All Is Said and Done”, “Take a Chance on Me”, “Waterloo” and, of course, “Mamma Mia”. These songs not only exemplify the uninhibited quality of the story, but have left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.
Lastly, the overall essence of Mamma Mia! is to embrace uncertainty as it is possible to define yourself without full knowledge of parentage. All in all, I recommend this upbeat, feel-good jukebox musical to every lover (and hater) of ABBA.

Do we ever learn where this thing comes from?
Tumblr media
Like, did Thor bring the blue prints from Asgard?
(Did he brin Lokis shackles? Are they magic dampening or is he humoring him?)
Did Jane Foster build that thing?
Did Eric Selvig?
Did Tony Stark?
Was it a joined venture?
Jane bringing in her knowledge of Einstein–Rosen bridges
Eric bringing in residue knowledge of the Tesseract and how to build a portal generator?
Tony having enough engeneering knowledge and resources to build a mashine that could do what Jane and Eric specefied it needed to do?
Did Loki cooperate 200% and tell them how to build it because he had a vested interest to be on the OTHER side of Asgards dungeon walls wenn Thanos arrived in the nine realms and they just kind a trusted him?
I have questions!

Today we are rewatching “Thor: The Dark World”. And, let’s admit, Loki is the only reason this movie is worth watching. I mean, I don’t feel anything about Thor’s relationship with Jane and they are almost the main part of the movie. Well, they, a quite good action (as always) and the idea of the importance of Infinity stones. And Loki. (Spoilers!) Even the opening scene, with him in chains still arguing with Odin is great (in its own way, of course, actually, my heart is bleeding while I watch it). And then, when Thor takes him from the prison – the scene with illusion is so moving! And then, his jokes are the only actual jokes in the whole movie! And later, when he “dies” (well, here I didn’t feel something special, because I knew that it was just a play for Thor) it’s also very impressive. To be honest, after that scene I’ve watched the rest of the movie “half-eyed”, the only scenes I was interested – Loki in the appearance of a guard talking to Odin, Loki in the appearance of Odin talking to Thor and mid-credit scene teasering “Guardians of the Galaxy”. So, I enjoyed half of the movie, the rest of just alright, but nothing special.

The strongest evidence that the Battle of New York was a flop is that Loki could use the tesseract at any time.
Tumblr media
"But Hlòriđi, just because he can use the tesseract that doesn't mean he could open it large enough for an entire army!"
Alright, let's say he can't...let's say he absolutely needs Eric Selvig, and whatever element he took from that party in Germany. Those are essential components.
Why not take Selvig to Thanos, at the very minimum after Selvig told him about the element, popping in, popping out, and opening the Battle of New York portal from the space side, because...it's a door, they open on both sides. Now that the battle is over, and he "lost" his safetest option is Asgard, the city with the impenetrable shield and is full of war gods and where Thanos didn't even try to attack with the Power Stone until after the planet was already destroyed. Or, now that he has the Space Stone he can evade Thanos forever on his own terms.

Hey, I hate to be a.. hater, but I never liked Jane Foster. Now I'm concussed at the moment and muddled as hell, but she seemed sort of unessential... unimportant.
Yeah okay, I get it she was important to the first film, and I gaurentee that if she and Thor weren't just shoved together, they would have been better as friends. They have no chemistry. Sure she's an astrophysicist, and he's from another ass planet, but what do they have in common? Yeah they broke up, and everyone understands why, they weren't right for each other. But the absolutely ruined her character with it, they made her relationship with Thor the only thing she is. And in my opinion, Dark World would have been better if the aether possessed Loki. Or Darcy. Hel even Selvig. Thor and Loki are brothers and a good way to show that Thor still cares would have been to show him fighting for him to live. They get the aether out, and Loki pretends to fake his death after getting stabbed last time. Perfect lead to Ragnarok, Loki still dies, and it ends up showing more of Thor's greif, losing his mother in the fight to save his brother, and losing his brother anyway.
Or Darcy. Thor has a thing for women who can take him down admit it. I'm not saying they should have been together, cause gods know Marvel would fuck up her character too. You can see in Thor's eyes that Darcy reminds him of Loki. Her wit, sarcasm and bluntness. She's like a little sister to him. He would do anything to save her. Tell me I'm wrong.
Selvig was made to remind Thor of Odin. Not a lot. But they have that sort of relationship. And he and Odin could have had that type of relationship if he had focused on being a good father and raising both his kids instead of grooming both for success and only allowing one to take the throne, and at the time it being the the one the least capable of it. They would have had a similar dynamic of Odin had done that.
All these people have a real relationship with Thor and the only way for Jane to be relavent was shove them in a relationship. And only because Thor's the 'dumb blond' and Jane's a genius, Eric and Darcy are bystanders, and Loki's the bad guy.
I don't have much knowledge on the Marvel comics. But that's what I've gathered from the movies. Jane was unnecessary (I forgot the word earlier) to the movies and if she and Thor weren't in a relationship I would feel less strongly on the topic than I do now.
But that could just be cause I ship thordall.
