"My biggest vice is… abstaining from drugs. Is that a vice? It's not not being able to tour without drugs. It's not not being able to go back to Hackney without wanting to score. It's not all those things. It's just… you know, if you break up with your missus for a good reason, even if you love her, you can understand it, you know, you can get on with it. But if you still fucking love her, it's really hard, you know? I think that would be the best way to describe it."

Hey Cherry. [C: Yeah?] You know that show you like? Ricky- Ricky [C: Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn?] Yes. So the kid from that show, his name is Aidan Gallagher, he’s in daddy’s friend Gerard’s show. And he’s a character named Five and he’s psyched that I know who he is. [C: Why?] ‘CAUSE I’M COOL.

"What I always wanted to do was a... wake up in a bedroom, camera pans out of the bedroom, a one-shot video where calamity ensues - Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chaplin… It was fun because the idea was so simple that it could be laden with subtext and performance. It's not that I'm fond of dropping easter eggs, it's just that I find that the best art - and I do make art, thank you very much - the best art makes you feel personally addressed. It makes you think, 'They're talking to me'. I want to reference that I know that you know that I know.
You can see the clock is on one, nine, seven, and five. And then there's a poster for I Like America and America Likes Me, which is a song off of our record, but it's a reference to this art installation by Joseph Beuys. I always thought he was very interesting and I liked the idea of pointing towards a song title that wasn't even out yet. The one that people haven't picked up on is the Maycomb Tribune, which is the name of the newspaper which is the newspaper from 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. We only had like, a day to figure this out. This scene in 'My Sister Eileen'... it is the best dance performance you've ever seen. We're not doing anything like this is in this video, but it's an homage to it. We even graded the video in the way that that was graded."
