Mexican women from Women's Declaration International protesting outside of the courts of Mexico City because a prisoner in Chalco was raped by a male inmate that self identifies as a woman.
The sign reads: "Get men out of women's jails".
You can sign a Change petition here to demand Mexican authorities that justice is delivered to the rapist and that they enforce our constitution so that imprisoned women are granted the right to serve their time in prison separate from men.

Soy mujer. y un entrañable calor me abriga cuando el mundo me golpea. es el calor de las otras mujeres, de aquellas que hicieron de la vida este rincón sensible, luchador, de piel suave y corazón guerrero.

When feminism comes up, people say that women must empower themselves. To say that implies that we're responsible when it's society that must cast aside patriarchy and allow gender equity and justice. To say that implies we have no power.
We girls have power and we have proved it time and time again with everything we've accomplished. In the face of gender violence, we march, we speak up and we demand all the things that must change.
I don't want to say Grishaverse women empower us because again, we have power. But I believe that they are a necessary representation of our conflicts and our strife and therefore, we feel validated, represented and accompanied.
Genya's silenced. Alina's manipulated. Nina's judged for not wanting to submit to the classic female role. Inej's imprisoned. Zoya must be careful in a society where she's surrounded by powerful men. I see them and I think of my mom, my sisters, my grandma and my friends. And I think of how good it is to have a representation so realistic of ourselves on TV
