BREAKING NEWS: Van Dijk crowned PFA Players´ Player of the Year
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award after a sterling Premier League campaign.
Netherlands international Van Dijk has played a pivotal role in the Reds’ thrilling title challenge with Manchester City this season, a battle that looks set to go to the wire.
And his performances have not gone unnoticed, with the 27-year-old’s peers anointing him the competition’s best at a ceremony in London on Sunday.
Raheem Sterling, scorer of 17 goals in a superb season for Manchester City, was considered by many as Van Dijk’s closest rival, but the England star had to settle for being named the Young Player of the Year.
City team-mates Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero were also up for the main gong, as were Liverpool forward Sadio Mane and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018 for a widely reported fee of £75million, a world record for his position, and was part of the side that reached the Champions League final last term.
The towering defender, who is the first centre-back since John Terry in the 2004-05 season to win the prize, has played all 36 league matches for Jurgen Klopp’s side this term.
Last season, Liverpool conceded 38 goals in as many matches, but they look set to massively improve on that this season, having seen their defence breached on just 20 occasions – giving them the best record in the division.
It marks the second season straight that a Liverpool player has won the prestigious individual award, with Mohamed Salah having done so 12 months ago.

Barcelona vs Liverpool in UEFA Champions League Prediction
Barcelona have reclaimed their La Liga title with time to spear and a triple-winning season still remains on the cards.
Barcelona is now winning their last four matches across all competitions, including a 3-0 win over Manchester United in the quarter-finals a fortnight ago, the mood in Ernesto Valverde’s camp will be on a high.
Looking to end their four-year wait to lift a European crown, one man who has continued to spearhead Barcelona’s stellar campaign both domestically and in Europe is five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi.
Once again set reclaim his La Liga Golden Boot and sat 13 goals clear of his closest contender, the Argentinian superstar has 10 Champions League strikes to his name and is averaging a goal every 66 minutes.
Now winning their last three European outings on the bounce, Barcelona also hold a very commanding record at the Nou Camp. Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 31 Champions League outings the Catalan giants have conceded just 15 goals in those 31 games, and never more than once in a match.
Liverpool may have seen Manchester City leapfrog them into pole position in the Premier League title race, Jurgen Klopp’s side are enjoying a very bright end to the season.
Sat two points adrift of the Sky Blues, the Reds have won their last 10 matches across all competitions and have scored two or more goals in each of those victories.
Picking up a morale-boosting 5-0 win over an already relegated Huddersfield last weekend, the former Borussia Dortmund boss will be looking for his side to carry on their recent European performances outside of Merseyside.
Despite enduring a run that saw them lose five consecutive Champions League matches away from Anfield, Liverpool have picked up back-to-back victories over Bayern Munich and Porto.
Despite Mohamed Salah refinding his form, Senegal international Sadio Mane has now bagged four in his last four and has three in his last three Champions League matchups.
The Blaugrana have no major injury concerns and Valverde is likely to have to chose between fielding former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele, both of whom are available.
Liverpool have concerns over Roberto Firmino, who missed the Friday night win over Huddersfield, although the club hope to have him back for Wednesday. Fabinho also missed Friday’s game, but could return as well at the Camp Nou.
Our Prediction: The game will end with over 2 goals with more advantage goes toward Barcelona

Fabio Cannavaro stepped down as China head coach to focus on his role with Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, the Italy World Cup winner announced.
Cannavaro decided to quit after just two matches in charge of the national team – both home losses to Thailand and Uzbekistan in the China Cup last month.
The 45-year-old was juggling his commitments as coach of Chinese Super League giants Evergrande after China turned to him to replace Marcello Lippi in March.
After Evergrande edged Chongqing Dangdai Lifan 1-0 on Sunday, Cannavaro confirmed his international exit.
“Out of respect for the country that has been hosting me for some years, I feel the duty to communicate that I have renounced my position as head coach of the Chinese National Football Team,” Cannavaro wrote via Instagram.
“I wish to sincerely thank Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club and the Chinese Football Association for having offered me the position of the head coach of the two most important football teams in the country, however this double assignment would take me away from my family for too long.
“More than one month ago I informed my club about my intention to dedicate myself exclusively to my squad and my players. By maintaining only the position as head coach of Guangzhou Evergrande, I hope to contribute to the growth of young Chinese football players, working every day with passion and professionalism.
“I wish the Chinese National Team all the best for the qualifications to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Thanks again to everybody.”
Cannavaro, who returned to Evergrande in 2017 having been sacked in 2015, has overseen six wins from seven matches as the CSL powerhouses sit second and three points adrift of leaders Beijing Guoan.
Evergrande are also on track to qualify for the AFC Champions League last 16, with Cannavaro’s men second heading into the final two matchdays in Group F.

Burnley 0 Manchester City 1: Aguero keeps title defence on track
Sergio Aguero scored another crucial goal for Manchester City as his strike in a 1-0 win at Burnley moved the defending champions back above Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table.
City were frustrated for long periods at Turf Moor on Sunday but they found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute, Aguero scoring his 20th Premier League goal of the season.
Aguero’s strike evaded the desperate efforts of Burnley defender Matt Lowton to clear off the line, with City’s 12th straight league victory moving Pep Guardiola’s side a point above Liverpool with two games remaining.

Previous Prediction: Inter vs Juventus under 2.5 goals
Nainggolan, Ronaldo On Target During Intense Stalemate
Inter Milan faced Juventus knowing they needed the three points to get closer to the Champions League next season. And while they couldn’t accomplish that goal, at the very least they managed to escape with a point against the newly-crowned Serie A champions, Juventus. An early goal from Radja Nainggolan gave Inter an early lead, but The Old Lady equalised thanks to a second-half strike from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Prediction: Inter Milan vs Juventus
Inter Milan are fighting for a UEFA Champions League berth ahead of the upcoming season. With only five matches left in the campaign, Inter know every single point counts. And unfortunately for them, they will endure a tough home match against Juventus, the reigning Serie A champions
Inter Milan might sit in third place of the Serie A standings with a decent chance of securing a UEFA Champions League berth for the upcoming season. However, they don’t enter this game in a particularly positive run of form.
Inter Milan won’t have Sime Vrsaljko. The Croatia international has been ruled out of this game due to a knee injury.
Another Croatian player, Marcelo Brozovic, will be a game-time decision. He’s been dealing with a thigh problem.
Juventus might not have anything to play for in this match since they already secured the league title. However, The Old Lady have their pride at stake here. Their rivalry with Inter Milan has always been a huge one, and this match won’t be the exception.
Martin Caceres and Paulo Dybala are out due to muscular injuries, while Sami Khedira is out due to a knee problem.
The fact that the past meetings between these two sides haven’t had many goals could be crucial here. I expect this match to end with under 2.5 goals in total.
Verdict: Under 2.5 goals scored – yes

Mane, Salah star as Reds run riot at Anfield powered by @go128
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both scored twice after Naby Keita’s rapid opener as Liverpool thumped Huddersfield Town 5-0 to move back to the top of the Premier League table.
After Manchester City took over at the summit following their victory at Old Trafford on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp’s side responded impressively to put the pressure back on Pep Guardiola’s side – who face Burnley on Sunday – in the title race.
Having made it seven league wins in a row, Liverpool are in pole position once more. Guardiola must rally his City players again for what is sure to be a tough test at Turf Moor, while the goal difference between the top two has also been reduced with the Reds’ landslide win.
In the meantime, Liverpool’s focus will switch to Wednesday’s trip to Camp Nou, but with their star forwards in such fine form, and their defence imperious, their dreams of a double may yet become a reality.

ARSENAL -- Jon Molyneux-Carter • Who will be signed? • Arsenal will only have a reported £40m to spend, so there won't be any megadeals. Unai Emery wants a winger and has a number of options: Atletico Madrid's Gelson Martins, Rennes' Ismaila Sarr or perhaps Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic and Dalian Yifang's Yannick Carrasco (both of whom came close to joining in January). A midfield replacement for Aaron Ramsey could come in the shape of PSG's Christopher Nkunku or Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz, while a defender and possibly a right-back are also needed -- Antonio Valencia, Fabian Schar and Matthias Ginter have been linked. • Who will be sold? • If Arsenal can find a buyer, the inconsistent Shkodran Mustafi should depart. Mohamed Elneny hasn't had many chances to play in midfield, and despite right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner's contract expiring, Carl Jenkinson may be allowed to leave if the club can find a replacement. Calum Chambers may be loaned again, while goalkeeper David Ospina wants to make his Napoli loan move permanent, but the club can promote Emiliano Martinez to replace the retiring Petr Cech. The injury-prone Danny Welbeck likely won't get a new contract, and Emery would probably take any offers over £30m for Mesut Ozil to reduce the wage bill if they land Havertz. • Who will be manager? • He won't last as long as Arsene Wenger did, but Arsenal have no plans to sack Emery after a decent season. They will, however, be looking for a sporting director after missing out on Monchi and Marc Overmars. • Credit to: @espn • Follow us @go128media for more of @arsenal #go128 #go128media #eplpredictions #epl #arsenal #thegunners #yagunnersya (at Kallang, Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv0c6s5hyNc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19zobvhisf3yn

@spursofficial -- Mark Ogden • Who will be signed? • Spurs have a long-standing interest in Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler, with ESPN FC reporting in January that Mauricio Pochettino is plotting a £30m summer move for the Spain under-21 international. At 22, Soler fits the template that Spurs are looking for: young, up-and-coming talent ahead of spending big money on more established players. Gareth Bale's situation at Real Madrid will generate speculation linking the Welshman with a return to Spurs, but don't expect the 29-year-old to head back to his old club this summer. • Who will be sold? • With Toby Alderweireld available for £25m until the final two weeks of the summer transfer window due to a clause in his contract, Spurs may be fighting a losing battle to hold on to the Belgian defender, who is a target for Manchester United. Christian Eriksen's reluctance to sign a new deal could also see the Danish playmaker sold, with Real Madrid monitoring and Spurs keen to avoid him leaving on a free transfer in 2020. Vincent Janssen, the out-of-favour Dutch striker, will be allowed to leave, while the club are also likely to listen to offers for Fernando Llorente and Victor Wanyama. • Who will be manager? • Tottenham are desperate to hold on to Pochettino, and recent managerial upheaval at Real Madrid and Manchester United now appears to have increased the likelihood of the Argentine coach staying at the club. Zinedine Zidane's return to Real has closed off the prospect of Pochettino leaving for the Bernabeu, while United are expected to hand Solskjaer the permanent job following the impact he's had since replacing Jose Mourinho in December. There will be a sense of anxiety at Spurs until Solskjaer is confirmed by United, but with the two biggest available jobs seemingly going elsewhere, Pochettino has no obvious option if he decides to leave Spurs this summer. • Credit: @espn for the predictions • Follow us @go128media for more • #go128 #go128media #epl #eplpredictions #tottenham #spurs (at Singapore Airlines) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvjCSmzlPss/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=q8gca4nbbtuc

@manchesterunited -- Alex Shaw • Who will be signed? • United need a right-back as well as a commanding centre-back to partner Victor Lindelof. Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly is a target, while Toby Alderweireld is another option, with a clause in his Tottenham contract allowing him to leave for a cut-price £25m. With Antonio Valencia set to depart, Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a ready-made replacement. Elsewhere, a commanding presence at the base of midfield is needed, and the glaring absence of a skilful right winger continues to hamper United's attack. Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is the club's No. 1 forward target, and he ticks all the right boxes for United: young, marketable, a key position, resale value ... and a chance to get one back on Manchester City, which let him leave for just £8m in 2017. • Who will be sold? • Valencia will leave the club in the summer after 10 years of distinguished service, and joining him will be Marcos Rojo, who will go down as one of the club's worst centre-backs of recent times. If United can entice Juventus' Paulo Dybala or Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann -- who is a long-term target -- to move to Old Trafford, Romelu Lukaku would probably have to make way. Alexis Sanchez has been a flop of epic proportions, and the club would be foolish not to try to get his astronomical wages off their outgoings. • Who will be manager? • For many fans, there's only one man: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The caretaker has passed so many tests -- improving the club's form, getting the players smiling again, winning away at big rivals, dealing with an injury crisis, and masterminding one of the biggest European nights in the club's recent history. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is highly thought of, but the job is Solskjaer's to lose. • Credit: @espn for prediction • Follow us @go128media for more • #go128 #go128media #epl #eplpredictions #manchesterunited #manutd #ggmu #reddevils #oldtrafford (at KOMTAR JBCC) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvgtDS5ljj3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rhkhg54yx64b

LIVERPOOL -- Nick Miller • Who will be signed? • Jurgen Klopp said recently that Liverpool won't spend huge amounts in the summer, instead focusing on improving last year's new arrivals. Liverpool certainly have deficiencies: Their central defenders other than Virgil van Dijk can be shaky, they sometimes lack creativity in midfield and they could do with another top-class striker. Last year, a move for Lyon's Nabil Fekir was called off at the last minute, but don't be surprised if that's revived, while RB Leipzig's Timo Werner has been mentioned for the striking option, and wild reports last week linked them with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane. • Who will be sold? • In the past few years, Liverpool have sold their biggest stars -- Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho -- and while they will want to get away from that reputation, it's inevitable their key men will attract attention. Sadio Mane already is, so the biggest saga could be over his future. Elsewhere, there are certainly some relatively high-profile names on the fringes who might leave. Adam Lallana, Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne, Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno are all on that list (the contracts of the latter two expire this summer), while backup goalkeeper Simon Mignolet won't fancy another season on the bench. • Who will be manager? • Klopp isn't going anywhere ... probably. Club and manager seem like such a perfect fit that it's hard to imagine him being tempted away anywhere. More pessimistic Liverpool fans might have the thought of him leaving for Bayern Munich nagging at the back of their minds, but Klopp should stay at Anfield. • Credit: @espn for prediction • Follow us @go128media for more • #go128 #go128media #epl #eplpredictions #liverpool #thekop (at Johor Bahru) https://www.instagram.com/p/BveX5i9n0Q0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=187w25yp3uqdk

Premier League • MAN CITY -- Jonathan Smith • Who will be signed? • The spectre of a potential transfer ban is hanging over Manchester City. It's possible that they may be busy in this summer's window, with Pep Guardiola talking about signing "three or four" new players. A defensive midfielder to take some of the pressure off 33-year-old Fernandinho remains a priority. Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele is a target, while Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez could play that role. Two long-term injuries to Benjamin Mendy caused City problems at left-back, and they will look to bring in a new face. Leicester City's Ben Chilwell has emerged as their top target. • Who will be sold? • City have spent heavily in recent seasons, and most of those arrivals have made an impression on the first team, so only fringe players will be allowed to leave. Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has missed much of the season with an Achilles injury, and academy player Aro Murichas impressed as his stand-in, which could mean the Chile international departs. Defender Eliaquim Mangala has not played all season after a knee injury, and although he recently signed a one-year contract extension, he should go. • Who will be manager? • There isn't a safer manager in world football than Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium. The Catalan has the unwavering backing of the club's hierarchy after doing exactly what he was brought in for -- transforming City into an entertaining, ruthless side capable of challenging for the biggest trophies available. Guardiola has a young squad that should get even stronger over the next few years. • Credit: @espn for the prrdiction • Follow us @go128media for more • #go128 #go128media #epl #eplpredictions #manchestercity #mancity (at Football Passion (Singapore)) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvdbJsFncAJ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11ov26t9v8b4f

Paul Pogba has described Real Madrid as “a dream club for every player” but says he is happy at Manchester United. The midfielder, 26, has praised caretaker-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but says Real represent “a dream for every kid, for every football player”. “It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said Real Madrid is a dream club for every player,” Pogba told a news conference in France. “At the moment I’m happy in Manchester. I play. There’s a new coach.” Pogba is set to feature in Euro 2020 qualifiers against Moldova on Friday and Iceland on Monday. While on international duty, the former Juventus midfielder has given all of his France World Cup winning team-mates world champion rings modelled on those produced for many American sports. Solskjaer’s arrival coincided with an uplift in form for Pogba, who scored four times in his first three games under his new boss. The 46-year-old signed a deal until the end of the season but Pogba says he has done enough to get the job full-time. “Of course we want him to stay,” said Pogba, who is under contract until 2021. “The results have been great. I have a great relationship with him; he has a great relationship with the players. "When a player is happy, he wants to keep being happy. Solskjaer deserves it. He knows the club, he knows everything about the club. "He is a really happy coach that gave confidence back to the players. This gave us the freedom to play and enjoy football again because maybe we lost that with the results we had before.” “We are better now and the results have been brilliant,” added Pogba. “I like to talk about the future because that’s what matters, I don’t like to talk about the past. Maybe we lost confidence, maybe things went wrong. A lot of talking outside that we weren’t used to.” Credit: @bbcsport for the news Follow us @go128media .
